Wish this had been livestreamed. I imagine Lopez checked out mentally after losing the second set, still PHM must have fought hard and must be feeling really happy.

Feli obviously not very motivated at the moment. Two ridicilous losses in a row.

What is Lozez doing? He is at his career high ranking, doesn´t have many chances to improove, he is ,,old,, he should be fighting each match out there to try to go even higher or win something- titles, PHM is talented player great to see him back, but Lopez is big dissapoitment so far this year

Yeah, Lopez lost 7/8 first rounds here, but people just love taking numbers for granted. To whom he lost is less important I guess, and he is the guy who lives and dies with good/bad matchups. Well, he lost to Kafelnikov, O. Rochus, Simon, Benneteau, Davydenko, Baghdatis nad now Mathieu. Those are all guys who return well and can deal with his serve/slice/netrushing game pretty effectively. He's got a losing record against all of them, bar Davydenko.

Credit to PHM, big win for him right now.

:woohoo: what a news to make my day!

Just an orgasmic result and statistics. He saved 8 of 9 break points and won this match in mental giant fashion...Lopez won 2 points more and had better return and serve stats, yet lost the match. Paulo

Paulo few months ago:

What a talent.:worship: Ranked no. 733 at the moment, but at this rate he could jump some 600 places and set a record for 2012. :D He started from absolute 0.

I don't think tourists are allowed in them anymore. Not sure if that law is in effect yet though.

By the way, I think I read somewhere that the players on the tour are allowed to have cannabis in their system. Can someone confirm this?

Apart from a good Aussie Open, LaLo season has been pathetic, in his 3 events he lost on R1 in all of them, everytime to frenchies, Benny in straights in Sydney, Rufin! in Montpellier & PHM in Rotterdam.

Allez Paulo. Very nice to see him back. Solid aggressive game that can be fun to watch.

Followed the scoreboard for most of the 2nd set. PHM had an abysmal 1st serve percentage for alot of it. He still hung on quite admirably. He had 3 set points on Feli's serve at *4-5, then saved a bp himself at 5-5*... When it came to the TB he won his first four service points on 2nd serve. Had another 3 set points at *3-6 in the TB, of which Lalo saved two on serve. PHM managed to serve it out and broke to love in the first game of the 3rd set, I can imagine Lalo was deflated.

Very good and hard fought win though. He's beaten 3 decent lefty servers in a row now, with Schoorel and Berrer in qualies.

World number 1 then GOAT

Look at his results when he was 19. Just impressive. This loss killed him literally.
In 2003 and 2004, he was just a ghost of himself.

Court speed?

Medium/slow surface at a guess. Same as quite a few indoor events now - more are medium, afaik only 2 are medium/fast.

We'll still see plenty of aces though, because the balls fly.
