What is Tennis Tipping?
In the game, participants pick the winners of all main draw matches and are placed in a knock-out system. That means each participant plays a different participant and whoever predicted the winner of most matches correctly, moves on to the next round. The same applies for doubles, but you're in a team format and your scores are combined.

Note:
- In case of a tie, a tie-breaker will decide who moves on to the next round.
New tie-break method: http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=135174

- In case a player (i.e. the actual ATP Player) retires in a match, this match will be counted as long as one point has been played. If players are replaced by a lucky loser after the start of Tennis Tipping, these matches will be cancelled.

How to Sign-Up:
Just post here that you would like to play. You can only play one tournament per week. Entries will be based on ranking. Everyone can commit.

Please read this post for more information
http://www.menstennisforums.com/showpost.php?p=4423014&postcount=1

How to send in picks:
Picks can be sent in as soon as the draws are ready. Remember, you pick a winner in every match! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: [TT Dallas, day #] . Picks can be sent in anytime until the beginning of play each day. If you're still in both singles & doubles, you use the same tips for both. For doubles, you still tip the ATP singles matches, not the doubles! No changes can be made after the play has started.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE
If the board goes down as has happened before, send your picks to ibreak4coffee@gmail.com

Interviews

We were also able to interview another of the doubles semifinalists - Rodrigo R3

1. Tell us about yourself
My name is Rodrigo. I have 32 years old, and I'm from Goiânia, a very beautiful city near to the federal district of Brasil, Brasília.

2. What are your TT goals for 2012?
I want to get into the top 50 in singles and doubles. In simple is difficult because I'm very irregular, but in doubles I think I'll achieve my goal.

3. After an impressive quarterfinal round where you had the best score, you have reached the semifinals in doubles and play vmbf/Pauchis who beat the number one seeds. How will you prepare for this match?
Every match is another story. Today we have a new and difficult challenge. I know vmbf through the Brazil's TT and is a good player. I don't know very well Pauchis, but I've seen in advanced stages in other tournaments. It will certainly be a difficult match but we are ready!

4. Who is your favourite for the singles title now?
Elirj70. It's a complete player and very tough to beat!

5. Tell us about your doubles partner LucasBH
Lucas is a very very good partner! We have some titles on challengers and last week won the ATP250 Viña del Mar. He is a nice guy, a very good friend and a great TT player!

6. Half of the semi-finalists left are from Brazil. Where is the Brazil party this weekend? :wavey:
This weekend I don't know, but next week begins the carnival, a big party that virtually paralyzed Brazil for four days. I think this year we will begin our carnival earlier here on TT! kkkk

7. What have you been eating in Dallas - steak, Mexican food, or something healthy
Steak, always!!! :)

8. Building on this successful week so far, which TT tournaments do you intend to play following Dallas?
We are registered in ATP250 San Jose. Let's play the qualy in simgles, and we will get into the main draw in doubles. After Dallas, we will think calmly about what to do in the others weeks.

Just before his semifinal doubles match, we caught up with the youngest player in Dallas - Matt121

1. Tell us about yourself
Well my name is Matthew and I am 13 turning 14 this year. I'm currently living in the north west of beautiful Tasmania.

2. What are your TT goals for 2012?
I would like to win a challenger title which will be my first ever title on the Mens tennis forum. After I do that then I hoped to make top 100 by the end of the year.

3. As a lucky loser you have reached the semifinals in doubles and play number 2 seeds Gallina and MuriloBrasil. How will you prepare for this match?
I will do just do the same as I did in the opening 2 rounds and pick the inform players and hoping that it still works.

4. Who is your favourite for the singles title now?
I would probaly go the top seed of Elirj70 to win the title and I think he will beat Freshi in the final.

5. Tell us about your doubles partner Adder A216
I can stay that he is a Dutch person and he is going to be a future top 50 person. Anyway I just picked him because he was free and I was free and it's working so far.

6. Are you planning any Australian parties with Carsten Ball this week?
You do know that I don't drink yet but if Carstens and I win the titles then it could get intersting and hopefully not in the papers.

7. What have you been eating in Dallas - steak, Mexican food, or something healthy
I have been eating steak with some salad even though it is winter here in Dallas.

8. Building on this successful week so far, which TT tournaments do you intend to play following Dallas?
My schulde for the next month would be going to 3 differents in 4 weeks with me going to one of my favitoure tournaments in the calendar, Singapore on the 27th before heading to Indian Wells.

Elmo Jr has been another strong performer this week, and we caught up with him before his quarterfinal singles match against Gallina

1. Tell us about yourself
My name is Elmo, I have 47 years old and I leave in São Paulo, Brasil

2. What are your TT goals for 2012?
I will intend to play more ATP´s tournaments and not many CH. I´d like to stay at top 100 singles ranking

3. There are so many new Brazilian players in TT - do you all practice together and eat dinner together during tournaments?
We play at TTB (brazilian TT game), but I would like to have dinner with them some day. The Brazilian players are organizing a meeting in the next Brasil Open.

4. You have reached the quarterfinals in Dallas and play the experienced Gallina. How will you prepare for this match?
I know the next game agaist Gallina will be hard. In the same way I have prepared myself until now.

5. What have you been eating in Dallas - steak, Mexican food, or something healthy :p
A big steak.

6. Building on this successful week, which TT tournaments do you intend to play following Dallas?
I´m in the SAP Open San Jose qualy. After it, I intend to play another ATP or return to CH

Due to popular demand we also interviewed tournament surprise traddles - from qualifications now in both singles and doubles quarterfinals today

1. Tell us about yourself
My name is Florin, I'm 28 years old and I come from Romania.

2. What are your TT goals for 2012?
Well, my TT career just started last week in Burnie Ch, so my goals for 2012 are to improve my game, and of course my ranking.

3. You have reached the quarterfinals in Dallas in both singles and doubles. This after losing in the final round of qualifying in singles and now you play the experienced number 1 seed Elirj70 for a place in the semi-finals. How will you prepare for this match?
I was very unlucky in qualies (Garanganga was serving for the match), but I became a very Lucky Loser :D. So, I hope the luck will be still on my side, I know I'll face a very good player, but I think I'm well prepared and in this kind of matches you never know.

4. What have you been eating in Dallas - steak, Mexican food, or something healthy :p
I like to try every kind of food, though, I think Mexican food is a little too spicy for me.

5. Building on this successful week, which TT tournaments do you intend to play following Dallas?
After Australia and North America I'll travel to Europe (Bergamo) and Africa (Meknes)

Now an interview with TT veteran Sheva

1. Tell us about yourself
I live in Holland, where just like in other parts of Europa it's snowy and cold outside. They even consider organizing the famous 'Elfstedentocht' (200 km speedskating). I'm not much of a speedskater myself. I like playing football and squash and love watching football, tennis and the NBA.

2. What are your TT goals for 2012?
I don't have any particular goals. I just enjoy playing the game and competing.

3. You have reached the quarterfinals in doubles and play lucky losers Adder A216 and Matt121. How will you prepare for this match?
These guys must have been really into the tournament, also having played qualies. I think we should be on top of our games to beat them. I know Adder A216 from playing with him in doubles and he is a very capable tipster.

4. You lost a tough 2nd round singles match against Gallina. Who do you like as a favorite for the singles title now?
I lost with a very good score, but he/she just predicted the SR's very well. All credit to Gallina and I think he/she has a very good chance at capturing the title.

5. Tell us about your doubles partner Holmzy
This is the first time we are playing together, but I've followed the explosive development from Holmzy. He's climbing the ranks very quickly and seems to be a very good player of the game.

6. What have you been eating in Dallas - steak, Mexican food, or something healthy :p
Mexican food!

7. Building on this successful week so far, which TT tournaments do you intend to play following Dallas?
I'll play in Rotterdam, the town I studied in. I didn't make the cut, but I couldn't pass up on playing there. Afterwards I will probably hit the Latin-American clay swing, as I love South-America and clay is my favourite surface.

We also caught up with recent Australian Open champion Holmzy, who is playing his quarterfinal doubles match today

1. Tell us about yourself
My name is Geoff and I am from Dublin, Ireland. I am 17 years old

2. After your Australian Open win and now top 10 singles ranking, what are your TT goals for 2012?
Well to be honest I am not sure because it was such an amazing debut season for me last year to reach 32 in singles from not being ranked. Also top 100 in doubles was good too. After winning my first ever title at AO I suppose I just hope to keep winning and hopefully keep progressing up to number 1.

3. Following that question, why are you playing a humble challenger in Dallas this week? :p
It was either this or Davis Cup for me. I don't think there are any other Irish TT players on tour so DC was not an option for me. This is my favourite challenger so I thought I would start my American Swing early and play here!

4. You have reached the quarterfinals in doubles and play lucky losers Adder A216 and Matt121. How will you prepare for this match against players you might not know?
I always try not to take anyone for granted as TT can go either way. I just try to focus on my game and not worry about the other team.

5. Tell us about your doubles partner Sheva
It is the first time I've played with Sheva and I don't know much about him to be honest. However I know he is a good player because I have seen his name appear in the latter rounds of tournaments before so I was happy to play doubles with him

6. What have you been eating in Dallas - steak, Mexican food, or something healthy :p
Sometimes I like to take a break from the healthy option. There is nothing like a bit of steak!!

7. Building on this successful week so far, which TT tournaments do you intend to play following Dallas?
I will be playing in San Jose next week and then I will probably play Memphis, Delray Beach and then on to Indian Wells and Miami:D

We caught up with AdeyC just before he was leaving for the airport - well actually due to the length of the interview he missed his flight, so we may need to follow up ;)

1. Tell us about yourself
My name is Adey (well it’s Adrian, but I hate the name Adrian so it’s Adey) Collins, I was born in London but now live in Brighton, UK. Yippee! – I get to give an interview at last – I’ve conducted many but have never been given the chance to be interviewed myself. Love the game but am not particularly good at it (well in MTF, am better at WTF). Generally a quiet guy who stays in the background but will speak out vocally when I spot things that are blatantly wrong and unfair. I guess my MTF time can be summed up like this.
Year 0 – 2.9 Spent in Silent Lurker mode and just sent picks
Year 2.10 – Came out of shell and decided to try out hosting an event
Year 2.11 – Came out of shell massively big time – I finally learnt what a Good Rep was as I got a lot of them over a few issues this month – as a result I made more friends on here in this one month than in the whole previous 2.10 years put together.
Year 3 – Currently gliding along quietly and gracefully like a swan for the time being as the unofficial Data in-putter on the MTF Stats site which I guess is keeping me out of verbal orbit for a while.

2. You had a tough first round doubles match. What went wrong?
Totally gutted over this, this is the first time this year we have lost in a first match of any event we have played. I blame the catering at the players party the other night, I am sure that those tuna volavonts tasted a bit funny, but thought nothing of it at the time.

3. What are your TT goals for 2012?
In player terms I know I’ll never be a great MTF singles player, so my goal there is to just enjoy the game as my ranking will always be crap, in doubles I am close to a career high, so would love to do well in doubles.

My only achievable goal left now in MTF TT is to host an ATP Event, which I will be doing with Miami doubles, after that I’d like to host an ATP event solo, and by that point I will then have reached the glass ceiling and achieved all that I ever realistically will ever be able to in MTF TT.

Can I also take this opportunity to thank you for this interview – I’ve been playing this game for 3 years and this is the first time I have ever had an interview request and finally there’s a(nother) Manager who’s sent interview requests to all players to make everyone feel fully part of an event, now I’ve had this I’ll have reason to keep viewing the thread even though out of the event – you have my 100% congratulations and admiration over this sir!!!

4. Who do you think will win in Dallas now?
I think Nixer must now be the favourite, but I also think that the newer player traddles could be a dangerous player to watch.

5. How has your annual visit to Dallas been so far? How are Sue Ellen and JR doing?
It’s been great as usual, ole JR just has a bad press I think, he’s a lovely guy deep down – after last nights doubles defeat this chauffeur driven limo pulled up and Bruno and I were invited by JR over to Southfork for dinner, and we were also given two complimentary tickets to tonight’s Oil Baron’s Ball, which is always great for drama. Sue Ellen was glam personified as usual and we even got to see Pammy over the video-phone, and a nice few small gold ornaments in the wash-room which I just noticed somehow ended up in my suit pockets.

6. Everyone wants to know - please tell us the Dallas zoo story...
OK then - here’s my story about the time I went to Dallas in the real world – about 5 or 6 years ago I was going to Dallas Zoo - after getting off the bus from my friends place (Los Colinas Boulevard I think it is from memory) and walking along to the entrance I somehow missed my footing - I went arse over tit and fell to the ground. And as when this kind of thing happens the first thing you always do is look round to see how many people have witnessed it, as it was a lot of people I try to keep a low profile in Dallas because if it was someone else I’d always remember it – the bigger conspiracy rather than the JFK thing to me is who put that step in the way of my feet causing me so much embarrassment that I will never go back to that part of Dallas again.

With a tough day ahead in doubles, we interviewed number 2 seed MuriloBrasil yesterday for his thoughts on the tournament and TT

1. Tell us about yourself
Well, my name is Murilo, I'm 17 years old and I live in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. I like tennis since I was eight or nine years old, although I have never played. I believe in sports, not only as entertainment, but as a major instrument of social transformation.

2. What is your favorite colour?
I have no preferences for colors, but to pick one, I like the green.

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
I wanted to talk Daniel Brands, but I have to say Federer, at least for now, but I believe that in 3 years we'll say Djokovic.

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
I wanted a name that identified me, and also show where I was from, that is Brazil, a country that despite the problems, I would not trade it for anything else.

5. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
I want to make sure the top 100 in singles and doubles, and get some great campaign in Grand Slams, preferably already at Roland Garros, perhaps reaching the second week.

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
I don’t like to choose opponents, but Marita would be a tough opponent in a possible second round, great player and that comes from the qualy, what turns it harder. And a very enjoyable game would be against the vmbf in the final, my former doubles partner.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
A guy who can always surprise is dannyrafter, a player that always risk your shots, and if he can join regularity to his ability, he can go so far!

8. Please tell us something about your doubles partner
Gallina is already a very consolidated player in doubles circuit, and will be an honor to play this week with him / her. I only have to learn with this experience. I hope we win the title this week in which my current partner, BrazilTBfan, is focused on Davis Cup.

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
I prefer a large steak that I like and it's great to re-energize after the games.

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
Conspiracies are those things that you will never have sure about you are saying. But seeing the world we live in, I don’t doubt nothing. There are crazy stories, but it is obvious that the Kennedy assassination had interests of various stakeholders, and why not, of influential people.

I will try to push in my singles rankings into top-100

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
I got a tough draw in singles against #2 seed and in doubles against Goldenoldie(a great player),so its going to be tough.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
I dont know much about players but good luck to everyone

My partner is a big player and I learn a lot with him. We are the crazy double in TT Game.

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
As I am ignorant in matters of cuisine of Texas, I think I prefer rice, beans and eggs before.

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
If something similar happened in Brazil in someday, it would end in Pizza, kkkkk

Note: I speak bad the English language.

Our reporter caught up with Russian qualifying sensations Hidalgo and Nixer - who had a great first day in Dallas and are preparing for their Tuesday doubles match

Nixer

1. Tell us about yourself
My name is Nikolay and I'm from Moscow, Russia. Right now, I'm temporarily living in England, where I study in a university. I've started watching tennis in 2000, and from about 2003-2004 I really began to follow the tour closely. My favourite ATP players are/were Rafael Nadal and Joachim Johansson (regretfully, I couldn't enjoy the game of the latter for too long, as Pim-Pim was forced to retire so early and wasn't successful in multiple comebacks to professional tennis). I play some tennis myself, but honestly suck at it, mainly because I don't practice that often. I started predicting tennis results in 2006 on a Russian tennis fan forum. There, my biggest success was in 2010, when I finished the year 2nd in TT (well, not exactly the same game, but very close to it), and 3rd in PAW, having failed to overcome the mighty kondrashov :boxing:. From that forum, I heard a bit about MTF, and was constantly reading it as a guest in 2010, and finally decided to register and try my luck in TT here.

2. What is your favorite colour?
It's red. I also like black, too. So, Rafa's clothing during US Open 2006 was just for me, need to buy it some time if it's still available.

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
I'm surprised and kinda disappointed that Chris Guccione was not included in that list, as he would be my first pick as an answer for that question. In all seriousness, I don't like to call just one player GOAT. I like to think of a group of players who represent tennis greats, and I prefer not to compare them in terms of achievements. Instead, I would better enjoy their game in their best form than argue about who's superior.

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
Well, I usually use another username on other websites, but wanted to have something unique here. Plus, I wanted it to be simple and short. In the end, I just took the first 3 letters of my name and put an ending to them

5. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
My goal for this season is to gain enough ranking to directly enter majority of ATP tournaments. I feel that I can perform better if I can constantly play in main draws, as I just don't know many players outside the top-100 on ATP rankings, so when playing qualifying and challengers I end up analyzing players' past activity, which I don't really fancy. Another goal is to gain the stop in Russia's Davis Cup squad by 2013, or maybe even this year.

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
Obviously I don't want to play against my buddy and partner Hidalgo. I guess I can say I want to play against coolfish1103 in the 2nd round, as I have a positive h2h with him. But h2h means little in TT, it's not like there is a big difference in participants' level. Other than that, I haven't played that much in TT yet, so I don't really have that much preferences in opponents. I just want to add that I'm looking forward to our doubles match against Holmzy and Sheva, as it's a great challenge to face the 3rd seeds, and I also have some interesting singles history against Holmzy.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
I dunno... To be honest, I'm really having difficulties with distinguishing among all those Brazilians, as there's just so many of them :D, my mind gets mixed up. Maybe cswab22? He played well in qualies :p Of course my partner and I want to cause some upsets, too.

8. Please tell us something about your doubles partner
Well, we first met during Hopman Cup, where we both played singles rubbers for Russia. Already then, I've noticed that we make pretty similar picks for matches, and I think that's very important - not to argue about many matches, it helps to combine singles and doubles better. We've already played a couple of tournaments together, and I like that we discuss our picks before each day - something that was seldom with my partners in 2011. So, I'm really looking forward to this tournament, I believe we can show some good result here.

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
I'm not a big fan of spicy food, and Mexican is usually considered one of the spiciest cuisines in the world, from what I've heard. Between the other two, I would choose Texas BBQ

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
Oh, I'm really not informed about the issue at all... I understand that "JFK" stands for John F. Kennedy (I had to Google that)... I can only assume that he was an avid tennis fan, and has laid the foundations for bringing up this tournament.

Hidalgo

1.Tell us about yourself
My name is Leonid. But friends call me Leo. I am 30 years old. I am from city Perm, Russia. This city is situated near border of Europe and Asia.

2. What is your favorite colour?
A color of europian clay courts!

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
I am fan of Nadal so he is current GOAT. Daniel Brands is very good player too.

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
Hidalgo means that I am of noble family)) maybe spanish. I have this username on the one Russian tennis forum too.

5. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
TOP-100 in the singles and doubles and victory in the tournament in the singles, Challenger or ATP-event

6. You were very impressive in the qualifying tournament, but the 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
CH Dallas is my 8th event in the MD of TT singles only . My TT career is very short. I have played against 3 players of Dallas MD in the last TT singles events. And BrunoBeidacki most danderous for me:worship:, but another brazilian TT-player Rafael Fernando is not too difficult for me. Generally, I would like to play against brazilian TT players. Take a look at the my profile picture!!!

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
A lot of players of Dallas MD!

8. Please tell us something about your doubles partner
Nixer is my Russian MTF friend. My eglish is too bed))) And we speak Russian so we play doubles together)) He is strong player and good double partner. We played doubles AO qualies.

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
I am the first time in Texas so I am afraid to eat something I have never eaten but I will be eating a large steak maybe

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
I do not know anything about Kennedy, but if you ask me about John Quincy Adams or James Knox Polk I‘ll tell a lot of information about them!

We also caught up this morning with local favorite Cava - the only Dallas based TT player here this year

1. Tell us about yourself
This is my 3rd year playing TT. I'm from the Dallas area and have played real tennis at this tournament site several times.

2. You are the only hometown player at this year's tournament - tell everyone else what the best things are about living in Dallas.
The women. Except that I'm married so now I will say....this is really hard. The weather gets too hot in the summer. The land is nothing but flat. The people are pretentious....The best thing is the great business environment. No, I won't be retiring here

3. What is your favorite colour?
Black

4. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
Current GOAT is confusing to me. Nole is the best right now. But Fed/Nadal/Nole for overall career.

5. How did you pick your MTF username?
My username is taken from my son's initials.

6. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
To get off the challenger circuit. Maybe I should say winning a singles tournament since I've never even done that.

7. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
Wait, let me check the draw. Are there any Canadians playing - I've never beaten a Canada player. Hmm, no. I'll say Jazar - isn't he/she the Challenger GOAT. Also, I don't want to play Goldenoldie. I respect my elders too much to beat him

8. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
ME? Ha that would be a surprise. I'll say Freshi. Great doubles player that seems to be finding his/her singles game.

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
Steak. You have to go south Texas for decent BBQ.

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
I think they're like ---holes. Everyone has one and they stink

After returning from the airport, our reporter caught up with local favourite chowdahead25 as he was watching the Super Bowl last night. Please note the clear coordination in answers with Goldenoldie :rolls:

1. Tell us about yourself
I'm an 18 year old currently attending San Diego State University!

2. What is your favorite colour?
Black and Red.

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?*
Federer. No question. Nadal will not surpass him, however I give Djokovic a chance.

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
a "Chowdahead" is a die hard Red Sox fan, which I am. And 25 is my lucky number, the number I wore in all the sports I played as a kid!

5. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
I've been stuck in reverse ever since a solid showing at Wimbledon 2010. I'd like to break back into the top 100 in singles and top 50 in doubles, and capture my first ATP title.

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
I love a challenge, so drawing the top seed is very exciting. Goldenoldie is a very tough opponant who I hope I dont have to face.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
Hopefully myself as an unseeded American!

8. As one of the few Americans in the draw, how are you planning to use home court advantage to your advantage?
Really get the crowd involved and use my knowledge of the surface to my benefits.

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
As a student in San Diego, I get enough Mexican food and not enough BBQ, so BBQ for sure.

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
All conspiracies are just that, conspiracies. None of them have any factual basis, so my opinion is that they should be ignored by those who wish to know the truth.

*(For the record, this is the correct answer to question #3 ;))

After the long flight from Tel Aviv, our smart reporter cornered the beautiful number 7 seed appleGirl with a delicious apple as she was exiting the airport so she couldn't say no to our interview request :D

1. Tell us about yourself
I'm Anna, 25, from Israel. I'm currently a student, studying for an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics.

2. What is your favorite colour?
Red! My car is red, the furniture in my apartment is red, even my bag and umbrella are red.

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
I'm a die-hard NoleKAD (AJDE!), but for now the GOAT is Federer. But ask me again after Nole wins RG & the Olympics

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
This is a username I've used before on other forums. My childhood bestie had all sorts of apple-related nicknames for me, because I used to bring an apple to school every day, so when I started picking internet usernames, I decided to go along.

5. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
Last year I started to play TT, unranked, and finished in the top 100 in singles, playing mostly challengers. This year I'm hoping to win my first ATP titles - in singles and in doubles with my partner Mahqz.

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
Usually I want to avoid the seeded players, but this time I'm actually seeded myself

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
I have a feeling that one of the qualifiers can go far.

8. Please tell us something about your doubles partner
Mahqz is great, we've been playing together since our first TT tournament, and we have a really good partnership. We reached a lot of finals last year, hoping to do even better in 2012!

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
Definitely a steak.

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
I think the aliens killed him. Didn't the Mayans predict that?

Following Goldenoldie's prediction of a possible upset of Elirj70 in the first round, we caught up with the number one singles and doubles seed

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
I want to play against Rodrigo R3, a personal brazilian friend.
I don´t want to play against Marita, the TT N.1 and my doubles partner here in Dallas.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
LucasBH is my choice. He is a great TT player and I wait to see him between the best TT players soon.

8. Please tell us something about your doubles partner
Marita??? Do I really need to tell something about it??? Simply the BEST! THe number one...

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
41 years old brings me some health problems.. so I will try to find some chiken or fish... Is it possible in TEXAS??? I don´t know... lolololololol

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
I think he was killed by OBL grandfather... Just kidding. I don´t have any oppinion about it...

Good Luck to everyone who is playing TT Dallas!

Despite operating normally under a tabloid model of "pay me to talk to you", our (poor) reporter nonetheless caught up with crowd favourite Goldenoldie after his practice session yesterday who agreed to answer a few questions

1. Tell us about yourself
I'm a very shy person as you can tell from my profile in the Mister MTF competition.

2. What is your favorite colour?
Red, obviously

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
Sorry to be pedantic, but the words current and GOAT do not belong in the same sentence.
Rod Laver is the GOAT
Federer is the best of the open era
Djokovic could become the best if he keeps his present level
Nadal is better than Murray
Brands helps me to lose my TT matches, winning when he should lose and vice versa

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
I tried three times to register with my email name, but there was no response, so I decided to give it one last try with a different name. I was listening to a record from the 50s from a collection called "Golden Oldies" and I thought that would do, although I'm silver rather than golden.

5. Many players can't believe you are still grinding out matches at your age against young guns on the TT tour - what is your main goal for the 2012 TT season? And when might you decide to create a TT senior circuit?
Age doesn't really matter in Challengers, it's when you come to the 64 match OOPs in slams that stamina becomes a factor. Sometimes I nod off in the middle of a match.
I'd like to put 2011 behind me and get my ranking back to what it was in 2010 - perhaps even get into the top 50.
As for a TT senior circuit, I wouldn't create it but I would certainly join it.

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
I have a good record against Bye!
I don't really want to look beyond the first round. Thunderfish is on his home turf and will be difficult to beat.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
I think it could be chowdahead25. If he could win his first round match against Elirj70 he could go all the way.

8. Please tell us something about your doubles partner
Since my reluctant split with mateusz2904, who is now playing bigger tournaments, I have had a variety of different partners. Renaud and I played together for the first time at the Australian Open, so it is still a learning curve.

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
All of the above

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
You are asking a Brit about JFK?? We are only interested in the Princess Diana conspiracies

Challengers

Top 30 players in the singles entry rankings can't play them, except during the Davis Cup and Grand Slam second weeks and when there are no ATP tournaments played. They are allowed to play challengers in these weeks as late entries (LE), but they are not able to be seeded (qualifying or main draw).

Only a few hours until the final deadline.

Vilnete will be managing the qualifying so for those who will be in qualifying please remember DO NOT ONLY SEND TO ME

Draws will be up later today. If past years are an indication, the qualifying draw usually comes out pretty late so be prepared!

Now hoping that one of the main draw in the doubles doesn't pick so our team can have a chance of taking their spot.

I think the OOP maker is watching the Super Bowl right now

I just saw that the ATP iPhone app has tomorrow's OOP up already, but the official website doesn't

I'll post that OOP as provisional in a minute and confirm once it goes up on the official website

Against a friend in singles and against Aussie semifinalists in doubles. :awww:

I'll need a lot of luck tomorrow.

PS.: Could you change my nationality in singles from ARM to BRA? :p

Following Goldenoldie's prediction of a possible upset of Elirj70 in the first round, we caught up with the number one singles and doubles seed

1. Tell us about yourself
Name: Eliezer Freire
Location: Rio das Ostras - Rio de Janeiro/Brazil
Age: 41

2. What is your favorite colour?
Black

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
Djoko

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
Eli is my first name letters. RJ is my brazilian state (Rio de Janeiro) and I was born in 1970.

5. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
I will try being ranked to play all the 9 MS1000, but it will be very difficult to me.

We also caught up this morning with local favorite Cava - the only Dallas based TT player here this year

1. Tell us about yourself
This is my 3rd year playing TT. I'm from the Dallas area and have played real tennis at this tournament site several times.

2. You are the only hometown player at this year's tournament - tell everyone else what the best things are about living in Dallas.
The women. Except that I'm married so now I will say....this is really hard. The weather gets too hot in the summer. The land is nothing but flat. The people are pretentious....The best thing is the great business environment. No, I won't be retiring here :o

To get off the challenger circuit .

I respect my elders too much to beat him ;)

And down goes Yani, great pick :yeah:. To be honest, I was surprised to see someone pick this Seifert guy (never even saw his name anywhere before). Didn't expect any struggle here for Yani.

My favourite ATP players are/were Rafael Nadal and Joachim Johansson (regretfully, I couldn't enjoy the game of the latter for too long, as Pim-Pim was forced to retire so early and wasn't successful in multiple comebacks to professional tennis ).

It's red :) I also like black, too.

I just want to add that I'm looking forward to our doubles match against Holmzy and Sheva, as it's a great challenge to face the 3rd seeds, and I also have some interesting singles history against Holmzy :yeah:.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
I dunno... To be honest, I'm really having difficulties with distinguishing among all those Brazilians, as there's just so many of them :D, my mind gets mixed up. Maybe cswab22? He played well in qualies :p Of course my partner and I want to cause some upsets, too ;).

Between the other two, I would choose Texas BBQ :)

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
Oh, I'm really not informed about the issue at all  I understand that "JFK" stands for John F. Kennedy (I had to Google that)... I can only assume that he was an avid tennis fan :p, and has laid the foundations for bringing up this tournament :D.

Daniel Brands is very good player too.:worship:

And BrunoBeidacki most danderous for me:worship:, but another brazilian TT-player Rafael Fernando is not too difficult for me:wavey:. Generally, I would like to play against brazilian TT players. Take a look at the my profile picture!!!:worship:

We played doubles AO qualies.:)

9. While in Texas, will you be eating a large steak, Texas BBQ, or Tex-Mex cuisine?
I am the first time in Texas so I am afraid to eat something I have never eaten but I will be eating a large steak maybe:confused:

10. Since we are in Dallas – please tell us your opinion about the various JFK conspiracies…
I do not know anything about Kennedy, but if you ask me about John Quincy Adams or James Knox Polk I‘ll tell a lot of information about them!:)

Brazilian TT hope Ricardo Soler also spared five minutes for a quick interview ahead of his second round match

1. Tell us about yourself
Ricardo Soler, Birigui, SP, Brazil and I am with twenty five years old.

2. What is your favorite colour?
Blue is.

3. Please settle the ongoing MTF debate - who is the current GOAT - Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, or Daniel Brands?
I think Brands is.

4. How did you pick your MTF username?
My user name is my name, and my last name. This is a lack of creativity, I know.

5. What is your main goal for the 2012 TT season?
My object is play at a competitive level and the game is fun.

6. The 2012 TT Dallas tournament has many great players. Who do you want/not want to play against?
TT Dallas will have the hard games, because all players are good. I think we need luck to win in Dallas.

7. Which player do you think could be the surprise at this year's TT Dallas tournament?
I do not know all the players, but I know that: RodrigoR3, dannyrafter, LucasBH, MuriloBrazil, Milton and Elirj may surprise players in Dallas.

8. Please tell us something about your doubles partner

The interviews are really cool, it is fun to learn a little bit more about these players that we play against every week here in TT... and see who they fear and who they don't :D

About the diffs, I really believe Salamanca can win this match, but I am really concerned about his physical condition... hope he plays well and I can advance in singles and doubles.

Thanks Kendrick, Thanks Salamanca. It's awesome how much endurance you guys have to win a match. Both won first set and lost after it. If any of them had won, I would advance... just ridiculous.

Anyway, nice match Eli, good luck in next round... and thanks for great management ibreak4coffee.
