wildegirl05

the person drawing doesn't need to click on it, hema. the game flashes automatically when a word guessed is close or part of the correct answer.

tennizen
01-11-2012, 02:51 PM
I don't think so. I always have to click it and have done so.

Actually, if it's part of the actual word, the game may do it(but that's in blue I think). However, if you guess cherry instead of strawberry and you want to tell the people guessing that they are on the right track, you click on the word and it turns green.

wildegirl05

Btw some Estonian (wannabe) athletes have studied at the Brigham Young University.

Sure. Why not? Even a muslim or an atheist can become president, but itís not likely to happen.

Mormons spend a lot of time and money to project the image that they are just like any other christian sect. But, thereís all that stuff about all Indians being BAD BAD BAD and Africans not being equal with Europeans. Funny how in the 1960s suddenly black people could become an integral part of the church .

It's not a regular finger cut (that heals quickly. my other finger had cuts too and they've healed). I've sliced the tip from my finger, remember. (flesh wound)
The ER doctor told me that I'd need a lot of patience for it and that it'll take at least 3 weeks.
I've shown the wound to my sister and her husband (he used to volunteer as an ambulance driver for the Red Cross) and they both figure that the wound looks normal.

Still, I need to go to the doctor for my astma medication anyway so I'll let them check it out.

This is a very interesting subject:

"What does it feel like to have a trophy wife?
What does it feel like making so much money or being so successful that a super hot girl is willing to be with you?

Is the fact that she's a trophy wife something that both of you acknowledge or is it something that is under the covers so to speak?"

^Some parts that capture concepts like hidden information, hidden action and a utilitarian approach to relationships: (I prefer the terms hidden information and hidden action to the more well known, but loaded in my mind, terms assymetric information and moral hazard)

"I'll tell you that it means a never-ending doubt and a disquiet in your mind. Most days, when things are going well you don't think about it, but on days when you've had a setback or just something is keeping you down, you wonder if the person who you are supposedly closest to is really who they are supposed to be. And you think about opportunities lost, or chances not taken."

Hidden information.

"The engagement and time leading up to the wedding was a heady time and I was busy with my work where I'd taken a new VP position and it didn't even occur to me that she might want me for anything other than my charms. It seems silly now, but you have to remember a man's ego will blind him to anything. Like most men, I was happy to leave the wedding preparations to her and her mom (who is also a looker, and very nice - we do get along very well). At the time I just thought my life was finally turning up roses after decades of work and that pretty girls were starting to notice me. If you are a late bloomer you know what I'm talking about."

Hidden action.

Finally, an investment approach to relationships, true love in action:

"Just to clarify - I truly love my wife and believe that she loves me too. We have been together 5 wonderful years and are very happy together. My answer was only intended to speak to the question raised, and doesn't constitute the majority of how I feel about our relationship"

Do you think you have a specific chess talent?

"I donít know. Everyone has a lot of different talents. Probably Iíve got something like that, but I canít be 100% sure. Do you know yourself what it is? I can only judge in terms of what others say about me. When I was about 12-13 many people said I had a great chess talent, that Iíd turn into a great player. At that point I basically wasnít bothered if Iíd become a strong player or not Ė I simply played and enjoyed itÖ"

My oldest sister is obese. She's not just overweight, she's obese. She can't walk 100m without being out of breath. That should be enough of a warning but apparently not for her.
Since a week or so, she's in hospital with heart problems.
I'd say that the message is simple: her heart can't cope with all that body weight. Her body has been sending HELP signs for a couple of years now.

However, she says "doctors no longer talk about diets to solve these problems" (1) and besides, she "can't combine a diet with a stressful job. (2)

(1) I'm not a doctor but since when don't doctors advice to lose weight when they see an obese person?
(2) :cuckoo:

I fear that she's on her way to eating herself into her grave.

With these kind of issuses, like addictions (and eating has been also claimed to be addictive now, no?) the person itself (? or himself/herself?) has to admit the problem and will to do smth about it, otherwise there's not much others can do to help, besides talking.

Indeed.

She has yet to admit that the problem lies with herself. She's finding external excuses.

She looks a lot like my grandmother (I take more after the other side of the family, physically). She was also obese. She once told me that she didn't need to go on a diet because she didn't eat much to begin with.
Yes, grandmother, you have that much weight due to breathing air.

On that side of the family, there are a lot of emotional eaters. Stress makes them eat, a lot.

Sorry to hear that about your sister Hilde. Maybe her heart problems are so serious that not even losing weight would make a difference at this point? But in any case it wouldn't hurt and could probably prevent other problems from manifesting or getting worse. (2) is definitely a BS excuse. You can lose weight if you really put your mind to it. Has she considered gastric bypass surgery? Seems to be the only effective way when diets fail. But even in that case I think you have to lose some weight through dieting before the procedure.

Hush. You're too easily influenced by MTF clowns.

I insist: it was far from his best year but it was not that bad.

If you would only follow tennis on MTF, you'd say that he didn't win any title and dropped out of each tournament without reaching any quarter final. His year was not that bad. :stupid:

I'm not fooling myself  When, in his career, was Rafa in so many CONSECUTIVE important finals? And he lost only to one person. If he lost left and right I'd understand. But it was clear, starting IW until USO, that in the matches that counted, he only lost to Nole.
And I, personally, I'm even happier for his USO 2011 final than of his 2010 win, how hard to believe that might seem. He showed everybody that 2010 was not a fluke, he cant be accused for having a piss draw, he was not riding a wave of confidence like in 2010 and if you believe he wouldnt have beaten Fed in the final if the :stupid: had won his SF you are delusional
At least he was THERE and fought. I was proud of him as a fan.

The only thing really unacceptable was the W final and maybe Rome

EDIT: forget about Rome, Nole had shown before that he can go blow for blow with rafa on clay so a loss was in the cards sooner of later. Rome became important when you think that it was indeed the final that ruined rafa confidence for good.

Not very bad, he won RG, as long as he wins it it's a good year for him. But wonderful
Lot of things to be concerned about if you are a fan of his. No, insurmountable obstacles, but not looking extremely good either. Same for Fed IMO.

Well IF only, and that's also what Rafa has said himself, IF only (but IFs don't count) had he got either the IW or Miami final, it would've been a whole different ballgame as they say. Alas Rafa was :cuckoo: or too ill still for theses finals. And by the clay court finals then Nole was as cocky as he it gets. :tape:

If that guy is Nole, that should rip your heart out anyway :):):)

I never seriously thought his HC slam was a fluke I'm also doubtful fed would have beat him at US, thats why I can live with the result. Nadal thought pretty well in the final, but the collapse in the 4th was a bad sign. Shows that even if its close Nole can wear him down.
Only real hope I see for Nadal is that Nole's level drops. That is a somewhat poor position the be in, if you ask me.

fact is that in 2011 a lot more holes emerged in Nadals play, its mostly downhill from here. I see him winning 1-2 Slams more though.

Nope, I didn't use the word "wonderful", Betty.

Lot of things to be concerned about if you are a fan of his.
Why?

When I first started following his career, many people looked at previous Spanish tennis players to predict his career. People said that he was going to burn out quickly with only real success on clay and mugging it up on other surfaces and a modest win if he's lucky (amazingly, you can still see dumb arses say that and not all of them are trolling).

Myself, once he'd won RG once, I wanted him to defend that title at least once (to counter all those so-called tennis experts who called him a transitional champ with a short-lived career at the top). Trying to be realistic (= not reaching too high), I wanted him to win at least one other slam title other than on clay. I really wanted him to win Wimbledon but I feared that the USO was out of his reach.

Gradually, as he kept on proving many of us wrong; I adapted my wish list.

When he did get what I deemed impossible; that US Open title, the 2010 season gave me, as a fan, peace and quiet. He achieved all that I wanted for him and more, so everything else is a bonus. Of course, when he enters a tournament, I still want him to win but the word "concerned" is the wrong word to describe how I view Rafa in 2012.

I see a difference. Most matches were very close (think Wimbledon) while with the Rafa-Nole matchup he just gets owned. But yeah of course also somewhat similar to Fedal. all that is missing is for georgie to show up with a totally inane comment about matchups to seal this discussion :D

Nope, I didn't use the word "wonderful", Betty.

Believe me I know. I talk about how I feel, you cannot know better than me how I feel, no? I'm really happy with his year and, if he had lost 6 finals to, lets say, Murray( because we all know that for rafa losing 6 times in a row to Fed is not really possible :) :) :) ), I would have been even more content.

Awwww, you think at all those years of Fed dominace when Rogie kept losing to rafa...:awww: here, here, i was clay, didnt really count...

Look, I'm bothered even if Nole wins Belgrad so I cant argue with you here. But what bothers me most is that he wins not that he wins beating rafa. the fact that he won Wimbledon is already is a tragedy in itself, doesnt matter much who he beat in the final....

It was the position that Rogie was at RG, no? I didnt see you complaining in 2009 :D

I just want rafa to go back to his clay/grass skills, fuck the HC :( His stubborness to prove himself on HC destroyed his clay/grass game :bigcry:

Don't try to wiggle your way out of it.

I'm addressing you. Don't reply in a forum for everybody to read if you want to make this a tÍte-ŗ-tÍte with Andreea.

Besides, don't tell others how they should feel or how they're fooling themselves if you don't like them talking back to you. You started this argument, not the other way round. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and remember that you're still on a player's forum.

Fed didnt win a GS and be in another two finals, I cant blame them

I'm going to report the hell out of this thread during the AO, I can feel it.

All of this is why I worship and adore Andreea and Hilde. :worship: :worship: :worship:

wtf. when was i put on ignore? :( i didn't realize our past contained this lie

No that was from an earlier one, but during AO I expect something similar.

Oh well, not everybody has humor, right Andreea?

We have to keep it in mind that Rafa fangirls are a sensitive bunch, you can try to joke around when Rafa is winning, as soon as he starts losing some you better watch your mouth or be ready to get a ban. Those forums have been pro Rafa since 2005 it's not gonna change anytime soon.

If you don't behave like a dumb arse, you won't be reported. Simple.

It's in your own hands.
