Terrible start, but managed to pull himself together in time. Well battled.

Had to dig in there after Kuku came out with all guns blazing, while Andy was doing his usual grimace/clutch body parts routine that I know so many of his non-fans just ADORE :)

Anyway, he settled, served better in sets 2 and 3, and Kuku really couldn't keep the huge flashy winners going, not very surprisingly, and Murray ground it out.

Good to get the first one out of the way, would have been nice if it had come easier, but I'll take it. Needs to improve against Muller, I suspect.

How dare Kukushkin take a set off Murray :p

Murray looks far from winning AO in this form plus his knee (and every other part of his body looks suspect..).

Hope I'm wrong though.

Murray needed a guy around him who was also a loser in first 3-4 slams . Lendl will show him the way . loser + loser = winner

Better to have a tricky first match at the start of the year. It lets you get everything sorted. He should get better as the matches go on.

Jesus, Murray giving me a heart attack. So at 5-1 ish, I turn it off and decide to go to sleep, hoping he'll turn it around next set. I get distracted, can't sleep, check the score, it's 5 all! As soon as I start to watch again Murray gets broken/breaks himself, and I decide that my watching is the problem. I was right! He wins routinely from there on out, after I actually go to sleep. The tennis gods can be so cruel.

The hiring of the new coach already bringing desired change in attitude and results.

Tremendous attitude from Murray in the opening set, never gave up and didn't give his opponent any encouraging signs by showing negative body language.

Now to change his midfield in Fantasy Football and I call that a pretty good day all in all.

Kukushin played an amazing SP in the first! :yeah:

Did Murray lead in the first 5-1 or did he trail 5-1?

Sham Kay

He trailed, came back like a hero, trailed some more, came back like a hero and won.

Saberq
01-03-2012, 05:29 PM
So he trailed 5-1,came back to tie at 5-5 and lost 7-5 ....mental giant this Andy

Kukushkin played aggressive tennis from the start so did well to keep it up for a set and a half but as always quality always come through in the end. Murray still needs to cut out the moaning though - it's not as bad but it's still there...

...until Lendl lands in Melbourne and repeatedly hits Murray in the balls with his overhead smashes and knocks some sense into him :D

Sometimes you just need to hop behind the sofa, cover your eyes, cover your ears, cover your mouth, and your player will take care of the winning.

Terrible result, Kukushkin was dominating the pusher for 1 1/2 sets, but couldn't get it done, sadly and imploded in the end. Mugray is as pathetic as ever, limping after every point he loses and then sprinting like a cockroach exposed to light in the next. Even commentators on 7 two were making fun of this faker. Hope he gets knocked out early in AO so this ridiculous Mugray hype can finally end.

Topspinnurse is so great man . every time he enters the MTF, value of this site raises multiple, how boring place mtf would be without his spontaneous and unpredictable mug therapy . What can be more great than 27 years old grown male person using so mature word like mug . Every mother would like him for a son. this guy is so great that great men look average for him . fuck the queen . God just save this son

Hilarious to see someone like you giving lectures about "maturity". Go read your posts in any of Nadal threads and you'll see that your IQ is about equal to a pile of dogshit.

Well, I am in Australia and watched the match live on TV - it's not me who's accusing Mugray - the commentators blatantly said that Mugray is faking an injury every time he loses a point. It was very obvious to see, he grimaces and limps when he loses a point and then runs like gazelle being chased by a lion during the next rally.

Murray is well known for looking half-dead and still running like a rabbit. I hate when he pulls this shit.

So I have to assume that you also get pretty pissed off when Nadal pulls the same crap on court. "Ay ay mi culo ... next point ... Vamossssssss!!!!".
