For Switzerland, Federer and Wawrinka will play singles and doubles. But for USA, it's a special selection with the injury of Roddick and one of the bryan's brothers. For me ISner can make damage on clay. But instead of Fish, even if he is a top 10 player, i would have tryed a guy like Sweeting. He play good 5 setters against Ferrer in Melbourne and he won his first ATP title on clay last year in Houston. For doubles, i would have picked a team of specialist because the singles players will be tired to play 3 days on clay.

Bryan isn't injured by the way - his baby is due and might have already arrived for all I know.

Anyone know when the actual schedule - who is playing whom, when - is coming out?

Yay first post!

Courier said last week that Fish and Isner will probably play singles, and Fish and Mike Bryan will probably play the doubles. Harrison is unlikely to play. Roddick was not going to come anyway, even if not injured (as he said himself in Australia).

Davis Cup’s first round is next week. We travel to Switzerland this Saturday night. We announced our team, which will be Mardy Fish, John Isner, Mike Bryan and Ryan Harrison. Bob Bryan’s wife, Michelle, gave birth to their first child this week, so Bob is not available. Andy Roddick was not planning on joining us, and with his injury in Australia he would’ve been out anyway. I’m looking forward to having Ryan involved, even though he is unlikely to play. We had a great two-day training camp with Ryan, Donald Young and Jack Sock in December in Tampa, and these guys are all working hard to be a part of the team going forward. Mardy and John are the singles guys and it’s most likely Mardy and Mike in the doubles, although we’ll need to see how the singles goes on Friday before we finalize the doubles squad for Saturday. It’s a big challenge with Fed and Wawrinka in front of us. We’ll be ready to fire come match time.

Then on friday, it will be Fed vs Isner and Wawrinka vs Fish, the order will be decided by lot on thursday morning.
On saturday it should be Fedrinka vs Fish and Bryan.

Then if it's not finished, Fed vs Fish for first match on sunday.
