What are your expectations for 2011's Newcomer of the Year for 2012?

What are your expectations for him at the Slams? at the Masters series? and every other events next year and his performance overall?

he is not good enough to win a Slam or a Masters ....he will be what 21 next year?he is already too old for a breakthrough....Rafa and Novak were winning Masters and Slams before that ......I hope he can get something going

i like milos. that is a great question.

we need to see how he does against the top guns of the sport at indian wells and at miami masters.

i hope he is able to put that memphis loss behind him and make a little noise at indian wells. based on the draw, he could make the quarters at indian wells.

From IW/Miami, I expect one quarter appearance and I'd be thrilled if he pulled a semi.

For the year, around top 15.

As I said a couple times, I'm waiting on his matches against "big boys" to know more about his potential future, he has faced only 2 out of 8 best players in the world (I count Del Potro instead of Fish) so it's tough to estimate his chances based on beating "mugs" in San Jose-Memphis combo.

At the moment I don't see him winning the biggest tournaments.

Well said. If he does well and make one of the top 4 truly sweat in a match this year then we we will see where his game is.

If Melzer , Tipsarevic , Fish and Almagro can reach top 10...Why shouldnt Raonic can too?

He has had a few injury problems already. That is worrying for someone his age. The talent is there but can he stay fit for long enough to fulfil his potential. I like his game.

Top 10 for sure at the end of 2012, if he stays injury-free.
And the recipe is simple: keep winning MM tournaments and do well -or great- in big ones.

To finish in top 10 he needs to play a full season first. It`s tough to expect miracles but getting to the quarters in some masters events and R4 or quarters in the slams it would be a good year.

My take on all this,

He will finish top 10 this season. He will collect 2 more titles (indoor events).
He will make quarters or better at Rogers Cup. He will reach Quarterfinals of Wimbledon and US Open. He will reach 3rd round of French Open.

I think he will win Chennai, and San Jose, but unfortunately come up 1 win short of the Memphis title:sad:

top 20 finish, one more title but no good grand slam result.

It depends on how windy the grand slams are. :D

Seriously though, barring injury/illness, top 15 is pretty much set.

Even higher if he can improve his backhand and mental fortitude.

Unfortunately not much . He may get some more good results. But when he starts losing, I'm afraid he might fall into a slump :sobbing:.

I expect he'll continue losing to good returners.

He'll take RG+W+USO+Olympics+WTF by winning every match 7-6, just standing and serving :rocker2:

no more like a fan screaming from the crowd as his opponent is about to serve. I hear that's what they do in the Milos series(San Jose+Memphis)

He can go deep but I think his problem is his weak body .He gets injured a lot like say Del Potro .Tsonga also used to be like that before he became fit last year .He neds to improve his fitness if he wants to say in the top 10 for long
