His first rounds against Mallise. I think Malisse got to a final recently. He could be dangerous

It's a horrible 1st match draw for all three Germans in this TMS. Malisse can definitely beat Tommoy if Xavier plays up to his talent. I'm very scared of this match. :scared: :banghead:

I also like Malisse somehow, but I will root for Tommy in this match and I hope that he comes through.

Next is Novak.
yeah, I suppose Novak will be much more difficult.
Malisse is also a capabale player, but the main difference I see in Novak and Malisse is the mental toughness. Malisse maybe lost the whole match with just ONE SINGLE point. He was serving at *4-5 and 15-0, then he hit a crap forehand and was upset with himself. As the ballpersons threw a ball to him he smashed it upwards to the roof and from thereon it went down with Malisse's game. Tommy broke for the set and made five games in a row until Malisse called the trainer in the 2nd set, down 0-3.
Not sure what happened there

So Tommy had a relatively easy win, very uncontested in the 2nd set. At the end he even could afford getting down 0-40 when serving for the match.... ;)

Tommy 6-1 6-4 against Novak!

according to the scoreboard, the 2nd set was much closer, but overall this was really a much more easier win than I expected against Novak who was in good form before this tournament.

Next one is Taylor Dent! a big server and net charger...

Tommy lost to Dent 6-7(3) 2-6 :fiery:

damn, that was a poor effort
a very weak 2nd set, Tommy first serve percentage was crap and Dent hit some great shots.

Normally Tommy should be able to beat him because he is clearly the more complete player compared to Dent's cheap serve and volley or chip and charge :smash:

But this was clearly not Tommy's day today. Very disappointing. It went downwards as he missed a high volley on the forehand side at 3-3 in the tiebreak. Tommy's mind seemed to be somewhere else.... :smash:

Would have been a nice chance for him to do some harm in this Masters. Not often that you're playing in a Masters tournament without all the players that are missing. Okay, huge chance missed to go far, but I'm glad if he finished the season with anoter few wins and if his shoulder is well and healthy for the complete next season, and even better, for the rest of his whole career.

In Vienna, he also had a few back troubles and needed the trainer, for exmple in his match against Ginepri. I don't know at all how much it affected him, but hopefully he can get rid of this bitchy pain, too :(
