Old news.

Good time to leave for Big Al, he has enough to do with the Catalan tennis federation and Barcelona tournament as TD.

probably some former atp spanish player like emilio sanchez, carlos costa, sergi brugera or whoever else wil be the replacement.

Verdasco since he's useless as a player.

The band is breaking up.

Nadal and Ferrer focusing on slams and Olympics. Costa gone now.

Verdasco and Lopez playing singles? Almagro? Granollers? Andujar? Robredo? Montanes? GGL? None can win a tie off clay vs. the top teams. The only one I can think of is Ferrero who can win a tie off clay, but I dunno, he's up there in age, maybe he wants retribution for 2004?

I think with Moya coaching and Nando and Lopez, they'll see more of the club and the bottom of a drink than the courts.

Emilio Sanchez doesn't need to return. Carles Costa better for him raking in the cash as Nalbandian and Nadal's agent.

Lopez doesn't know if he will continue with Davis Cup next year either.

Verdasco and Almagro leading the team will be epic

Maybe Berasategui to coach the Spanish players how to hit his forehand of doom. Also he would pick all the Spanish home ties to be played on his lovely grass, which would be fun.

He was a pretty bad captain TBH, some pretty awful choices. only good move he ever made was Ferrer over Verdasco 2009

Best choice would be Yannick Noah

He's already coaching Lopez, might not want the additional duty just yet.

Moya said on twitter that he's not a candidate for this job.

The name Alex Corretja has been dropped but no idea if he's a serious candidate.

If I would've been the Spanish Davis Cup coach this year they would've won it too, who cares?

Who cares, Spanish Team is pure shit without Nadal and Ferrer. They kept this team alive for years and now it will fade away and go back to pre-Nadal era when both of them are gone.
Expect them to lose the first round next year.

I disagree. They won the cup without Nadal in 2008.

You think they'll lose to Golubev and Kukushkin at home :haha:
Sorry but get your facts straight, they're still probably reaching the semis. Austria/Russia in the quarters isn't too difficult either (at least at home though I don't know where they'd play) .

Good move for them i guess, that was :stupid: to play Lopez Verdasco on the double..should have lost the tie only for that reason.

I cannot imagine that team without Nadal, Ferrer, Lopez and Verdasco.

Corretja is a good pick. He was a gutsy player in th e ATP for many years and played Sampras so hard Sampras threw up

I would like to see Juan Carlos Ferrero be the Davis Cup captain someday. His record of achievement both within and outside the field of tennis is outstanding.

Get the three pre-Nadal Spanish RG winners as captains :hearts:

I would like to see Juanqui get a call up at least once this year so he can temporarily resume his bromance with Alex
