Oldest comentator in polish Tv (Polsat Sport Extra) is Bohdan Tomaszewski, he's 90 years old. Is he oldest comentator in the world?

^^ WOW! I hope he's (still?) a good one. Pretty impressive, 90 years of age! :worship:

No idea about the ages of the commentators in my country, most of them on Sport 1 are rather recent ex-players and pundits whose ages I suspect to be barely above their early 40-ies or somewhere around that age.

Poland has the worst tennis commentators in the world. Tell me, what can be more annoying in tennis than talkin during every single rally, sayin exactly what player has done wrong, his footwork etc. Its shame for tennis. Good that there is a possibility to switch on english comment on eurosport.

On Spain, nearly all the commentators are between 45-60 years old.

In india , i think it would be vijay amritraj at 57 right now..
although , he is a pure delight to listen to..
his commentary has a very positive tone.. and he speaks only at the right moments..
plus he gets wonderful interviews

Christian Quidet, and probably Jean-Paul Loth. The former died last year, the latter... hasn't yet.

Hm... I watched a few Polish streams this year, and almost every time there was a voice that was incredibly flat, like someone who just woke up or is about to fall asleep. If it was him, no wonder then :speakles: :D

I know that to many younger viewers he may sound boring now and when he ooooooooooohaaaaaaaaahs over another Federer's great shot people think these are sighs of quickly approaching death, but the guy is a legend and my grandpa used to say that the he was absolutely brilliant at live radio commentary in the 1960s.

I love this photo. Ah, those were the days

You know that his passion for the game is as big as when he himself was a player 70 years ago, his oldschool Warsaw accent and use of words nobody remembers about are cool, many younger fans want him to retire I think but I want him to stay. Wimbledon with him has that traditional feeling to it.

I know you think that. But I also think Portugal has the worst commentators ever. So probably we are just too picky and it's MTF'S FAULT. With all the brilliant minds that post here, and the insightful threads, we are just too demanding with the commentators.

hmmm...well croatian national tele has a pretty old commentator...dunno the name tough

but if you are in search of true quality then our eastern serbian neighbors have undoubtable the best one around these places in the likes of nebojsa viskovic

bosnia unfortunately only bothers with grand slam events from quarters onwards so not worth mentioning

For Canada, former Davis Cupper Robert Bettauer, he's like in his 50s I believe.
