Davy, closely followed by FITDave at his peak days. Davydenko is definitely the most talented though

Nothing cleaner/purer than Nalby at his peak. I sooooo miss watching his game, thanks for the memories.

Think some people around here are confusing power hitting with pure hitting - Blake ???

All great ballstrikers, you can't go wrong with any pick. Blake lacks the point in and point out consistency of the others though. You could add Baghdatis as well.

At their very best? Playing peak form? I gotta go with Nalbandian. Or maybe Davydenko.

But when it comes to purest ballstriking over an extended period of time, you gotta go with the Swiss Shankerer.

Nalbandian was like amazing when he was fit. Never heard the ball sing like that.

Flake's backhand is anything but pure, more like a violation of the tennis equivalent of the Geneva Convention. Same deal with Federer. His backhand is the exact opposite of what you would call pure ball striking.

Its impossible to name just one player - there are several players in their prime who could give a case:

Davydenko
Nalbandian (BH)
Haas (BH)
Berdych
Agassi
Safin (BH)
Kafelnikov
Federer (FH)
