MM takes it for the second straight year and grabs the wildcard. Ducky had a problem with the ankle which restricted his movement for most of the match.

Duckworth still has a strong chance of getting one anyway.

good one marinko... says he'll quit if he has a healthy 2012 and is not in the top 100 this time next year...

he definitely has the potential to be in the 100 despite what Filo.V has said in the past... yet, it has recently been judged that Filo.V is an arse clown and as such his opinion has no validity whatsoever...

Disgusting result.

yeah, he has the goods for the top 100, needs to know when to fire the weapons and when to hang back and rally. Although, I think good ol' Johnny Newk had downed a few to many when he said he should make the top 40...

It was 3-3 before Ducky hurt his ankle. 15-4 in games after that. Hopefully he recovers quickly. He should at least get one main draw wild card and one qualifying wild card in two of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. He might even get two main draw wild cards.

That either suggests that he's very confident in making the top 100, or that he doesn't want to play tennis if he's not going to be playing on the main tour (amazing powers of deduction I have).

Hopefully he gets a good draw at the open. A win in a gand slam main draw would be a huge boost to the ranking, aside from being a huge win its self. That said, Chela at Wimbledon was a great draw last year and showed that he still had progress to make.

Who did Duckworth beat to reach the final? He is a very tough contender.

it will be interesting to see whether the gooch decides to win Sydney or delight the fans in Melbourne qualies.

James Duckworth has some potential, aside from his pretty posh name. Matosevic took the WC spoils here, but I do like this young guy. It's not everyday you get to talk about the tennis prowess of JDuck. Someday.. someday.

didn't see this but looks like it was pretty straightforward given the score. I watched a good deal of last year's final vs Luczak and it was a really exciting match.

Mighty MM cruises threw to AO, it was a blow out and once again great odds for a matosevic win.

Duckworth (ranked 274) wildcarded into AO main draw.

With Tomic, Australia will have at least two 19 year olds in next month's AO. Very possibly three with Benjamin Mitchell (ranked 227) still a good chance of a wildcard or successful qualification.
