I feel confident! :D Even Genci said I should win easily. :D Oh, and I think I am an arseclown, Genci could confirm that too.

I wonder why Merton is in the ACC but I guess people just needed to fill the draw.

This Jogy is ! :worship:
Merton is like Berlocq at Wimbledon :awww:.

You're not a clown Maria, I am being honest now with what I think. You have a lot of distance when it matters, this is what differs clowns and non-clowns/

And I think I am in the ACC voting mood today.

My Diplomatic History Post 1945 will proberly be on the Truman Doctrine/Marshall Plan, for International Security I'll proberly do either Karl von Clausewitz or Kenneth Waltz, my International Political Economy and International Relations Theory are Book Reviews :o and for this term Political Analysis is all about the 'idea of the political' about it being a science etc really boring I'm afraid
The first two sound interesting though and thankfully you get a wide choice of modules to choose from in the final year :)

If I ever made higher than 2nd round, I would have needed to answer myself few very serious questions about me. I guess it refers to everybody in this contest, but I don't believe many people will do so.

There's a difference between balancing sometimes at the edge of good and bad taste, and being a true dumb moron, so the likes of me will never make it high. MTF has enough of the second of mentioned categories people.

I know this isn't the most appropriate question from me to you now but bringing up Belgian politcs made me curious, did that party offering blowjobs got finally into parliament? Maybe the politicians just have better things to do than to create a government.

No. I have to look it up to find out the actual results, though.

From wikipedia:
In the municipal elections of 2006, the party received 1.51% of the votes for the Antwerp city council, but no candidate was elected.
In the general elections of 2007, NEE scored 0.18% for the Senate, which was not enough to obtain a seat.

The so-called solidarity between communities, yes. The community with the better economy contributes to the community with the worse economy. In Germany, money flows from W-Germany to E-Germany. In Belgium, it goes from N-Belgium to S-Belgium. The discussion is that too much money indeed is going from Flanders to Wallonia and the Walloon economy is not really improving all that much so it feels like a waste of tax money. The thing is that even when Flanders had the weaker economy a couple of decades ago, the average Fleming was still paying more than the average Walloon.
Solidarity is good and as a Fleming, I agree to the principle, but the average Fleming has been overtaxed.

Yup, basically, Belgium (the territory) has always had an excellent position in Europe, was pretty much always at or near the centre of power and wealth, positioning itself in between big nations such as France, Germany and the UK.
Our little piece of land was invaded so often that in 1830, we decided to form a country anyway (even though that was never really the intention) and go our own way. The problem is that different communities were thrown together and if this was a marriage, we would have divorced a long time ago.

But first we need to kick them in football Euro quallies :p

Apparently what has caused such a stagnation in the East Germany after the regime of course (which was still more "westernly civilised" comparing to what we had in PL, and especially USSR) - was the overdonating those people. Big social security for doing nothing, perfect school of being passive and falling into marasm. This is why so many people emigrate to the West and some towns in East Germany consist of lots of empty buildings.

I think that at least internal migrations aren't the case in Belgium, however I might be wrong of course.

It's a bit extreme to say that it's the same in Belgium because the situation in Germany is a bit different but this sort of criticism has been given here as well, yes. Money flowing from N to S without an actual improvement and the S getting very used to the help fro the N to cope.

I think that at least internal migrations aren't the case in Belgium, however I might be wrong of course.
It's not really a major problem now, no.
Decades ago, there were internal migrations from Flanders to Wallonia for quite a long time when the Flemish economy was struggling and Wallonia had the steel industry, coal mines, etc. to keep them going.
Because Flanders has since then managed to build up their own economy (which is now one of the best in Europe and even on a world level), tapping into modern needs of society while Wallonia is a bit struggling to climb out of the industrial age. It's OK to give them money to help them make the next step because Belgium (and Flanders) needs Wallonia to have a strong economy but what's the use if there's not much change and they keep sticking their hand out whenever they see a financial hole that needs filling?

they said he was right-wing so I know how to classify this

Of course I am....the football stadium is just next to the place where the Swiss Indoors are held, so I also live 10 minutes away from the stadium :p

Zurich was champion the last 2 years :o
In 2006 they won the championship because they scored a goal in 93rd minute against us. Basel had 6 points advantage two games before the end and they lost it in the end :help: This wasn't nice and riots followed that game..ON the pitch just after the match...
Last year, Zurich had 1 point advantage :help:

You may still know Chipperfield & Ergic, they already played here in 2002 (when Basel did well in Champions League)...Huggel, Streller and D. Degen, all three went to Germany but came back for this season.
Then there are Majstorovic, Koji Nakata...you might know some of the names

Casta, as you're here, do you want to make a prediction - will Belgium break up or not?
This very day, (it's "make or break" day) the situation looks bleak. I've never know it to be this bad.

But in the end, I think that we will get through this together somehow because I still think that Flanders and Wallonia with the power centre Brussels is a stronger combination together than seperate.

There was talk of Flanders going back to The Netherlands. No offence to the lovely Dutchies on this forum but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
That's a good solution on paper but it won't work in reality.

Then there's Brussels: in theory, it's a Flemish city in its origin. (I even think that the name has an old Flemish/Dutch meaning, referring to the marsh it used to be) and it's situated in Flanders. However, most inhabitants speak French and feel that they belong more to Wallonia.

Breaking up won't be that easy either. Neither side of the country is going to be willing to give up Brussels.

Well, if you did something to be nominated an arseclown, then you have to put up with the consequences, and the tournament only lasts 2 weeks, it's not such a big deal. You can't take MTF and mix with your personal life. ;) It's supposed to be a pastiche tournament of posters.

About me, I don't find it offensive in any way. :p ;)

I still can't get over a volleyball shock such as level of our male team in Euro champs... Our ladies surely must have already disagreements with a coach, and as for Brazil, well, they've never won Olympic gold and a World Champ not without a cause. They aren't the best, face it Edu. Even when the dopers came back to the team.

I don't mind a bit of fanboyism/girlism (might adopt that) and most MTF'ers do have it in various degrees (whether they want to admit it or not. Some can hide it better than others). Everybody needs to float just a bit now and again as long as you're standing with both feet firmly on the ground when it really matters and it doesn't cloud your judgement (too much).

I'm far from a fairweatherfan, though.
In the Tour de France, one year, I desperately wanted to change my support to Lance Armstrong because my favorites were losing miserably from him year after year. :hysteric:
You knew in advance when Lance was going to attack and when my favorites were going to be embarrassed.
Rationally, I respect the man from Texas so supporting him makes sense because he was the ultimate professional but when it came down to it, I had to continue supporting my old favorites because in the end, there's a reason why you became a supporter (and seeing them get humiliated year after year by Lance  )

And other than being a total professional, I find him to be totally and utterly arrogant. Talking about Lance, I read somewhere that he was dating one of the Olson twins.

My thoughts exactly about Merton. How such a sublime poster can enjoy such a hammerish tennis? Some people say the opposites are attracting though :)

Here when you have nazi views you are getting lynched. They did a massacre to the Jews but weren't much better to the Poles, and Poland was the only country where for hiding a Jew the whole Polish family was executed (the only where was a death punishment for it btw), still many people were doing it, and when we are called the antisemits in the foreign public opinion, this is just below pathetic. Do you know that he has two different sort of rates when he performs?
He charges more money if it's for a show where they will mock him (throw tomatoes). He asks in advance if it's a serious show or a tomato throwing sort of show. The guy looks like an idiot but he's not (not totally anyway)

No idea why she hated Dutchies so much. She used to make me swear to never enter a Dutch owned store which was kind of difficult to do since my mother used to prefer going to those stores to buy my clothes.

Don't get overheated, Filip Dewulf remains the most famous Belgian, followed closely by Tom Vanhoudt.

I am a huge Dewulf fan, but he isn't in the same postcode as Eddy Wally for brilliance.

^ I hate to agree with GWH but he's right.

Although Jean-Marie Pfaff is stiff competition for Eddy Wally.

I don't know Pfaff and I wasn't even born when Eddy was riding :( So for my generation Dewulf must be the hero :awww:

Too bad Martine can't join the discussion, I hope her surgery was okay.

Jean-Marie Pfaff, Belgium's best ever goalkeeper. The guy with the German last name, but his German was meant to be hilarious.

My Dutch friend actually has the similar feelings towards the Germans and when they appear at the hotel he works, he speaks Dutch to them.

Hello Haas' fanboy :D

What has Black Adam done this time?

Check out what he has to say about me in the 1st round ACC bottom half voting thread. His words deeply cut into my little asian heart and I'm afraid that this wound may never heal.

Thanks.

My generation memory starts with Wilmots :p. Wasn't Kim Clijsters' dad also a football player? He is a coach now.
