He is a true tool, I will respond to you here then.

Nalbandian was injured in 2003, after his great tennis at USO he played only Basel and had to retire in the final.

He could have had a great season end. We don't know how it would have ended up, he was also miserable with health playing TMC, a wrist injury if I recall well.

edit - I found it on ATP:

2003 – Despite on-and-off injuries throughout the season, the Argentine finished in Top 10 for first time in his career and qualified for Tennis Masters Cup… Did not win an ATP title but reached two finals while compiling a 13-4 record in Grand Slam play and 14-7 in ATP Masters Series events… He and countryman Coria became first Argentines to finish in Top 10 in same season since No. 4 Vilas and No. 6 Clerc in 1982, also same year two Argentines reached year-end championship… Reached QF at Australian Open (d. Federer, l. to Schuettler)…Advanced to SF at AMS Hamburg with wins over Schuettler and Gonzalez (l. to Calleri)… After a 2nd RD exit at Roland Garros (l. to Coutelot), reached 4th RD at Wimbledon (l. to Henman)… Withdrew from three European summer clay tournaments due to an abdominal injury… Reached final at AMS Montreal with wins over Henman (2nd RD) and Schuettler (SF) before losing to Roddick in straight sets… At AMS Cincinnati, defeating Federer in 2nd RD before falling to Fish in QF… Entered US Open and posted impressive four-set victories over Philippoussis (3rd RD), Federer (4th RD) and El Aynaoui (QF), and came within one point of reaching final in his five-set loss to Roddick… Won first two sets and held match point in 3rd set tie-break before Roddick rallied to win 63 in final set… Did not play in Davis Cup SF vs. Spain due to left wrist and abdominal injuries and returned to action Oct. 22 in Basel where he did not lose a set en route to final with wins over Henman (QF) and Roddick (SF) but withdrew from title match (vs. Coria) due to tendinitis in his left wrist… Following week, withdrew from AMS Paris with same injury… Returned at Tennis Masters Cup in Houston and went 1-2 in round robin play, defeating Ferrero and losing to Federer and Agassi… Compiled 21-10 record on hard, 14-9 on clay, 4-0 on carpet and 3-1 on grass… Played well in tie-breaks (16-9)…

he finished the year 2500 points behind Roddick
i doubt he could have won that much from US Open till TMC ;)

Nathaliia
11-23-2007, 07:10 PM
We don't know what he could have achieved if he hadn't been almost constantly injured that year. And as a player you know that an injury also changes your practises, some attitude come backs aren't always easy etc.

Dunno, to me it kinda looks like dealing with my health issues and studying.

Nathaliia

1000 points if he had won both Madrid and Paris
750 for TMC
and should have won 3 other tournaments between those

not likely

Hey,

Yeah such a thing will really take place even if just 3-4 people are to show up :D. It will be next year but not sure about the exact date. Edu was saying something about coming to Europe, it would be cool with you and him in Europe.

Nathaliia
11-23-2007, 09:50 PM
Recap posts 119.337-119.783

I saw today the movie "1408" based on a Stephen King's book. I liked the most the conversation:
- Do you drink?
- Of course, I'm a writer.

This gave me a thought King probably is also an alcohol fan, then we would have something in common. But of course, just like wearing the Nike clothes doesn't automatically make you a great tennis player, getting loaded time and again doesn't make you a successful novelist.

I guess I should just drink more.

While speaking of wanna-be players, Xristos in just few minutes is facing the Rabbit. Yes, Coelho means "rabbit" in Portuguese, the match is scheduled as one of 1st round matches of KIA Cup in Melbourne, the amateur tournament, and winner of it is given the ticket for AO final. Gu, when figured after few hours of posting that the title is in favour of X, announced his boycott of the thread and perigrinated to Falco Worshipping Thread.

We were aroused earlier by the sudden appearance of RFK, but it turned out to be accidental and yeah, he is handed a 6 months ban for the whole forum sections, he was just let out to watch something he won't be watching for long.

We keep being sick. I have a flu, Nikki has a bird flu from China, Michael has a cold, Martine has problems with the eyes. I've read somewhere marijuana helps for eye issues, though tennis players shouldn't be the ones who test. I posted some scores from past Szczecin challenger editions, Coutelot the :smoke: included, and Neta and Michael don't like the dopers of any kind.

Upon those scores, Livio whined about Bastl being poor, that he had played only one good match against Escude in DC and lost even that. He is beaten by Larsi Burgsmuller hands down, Nikki wants the autograph of Lars.

The potential affair between Nikki and the German legend has been revealed as the real one in front of Tomas, her v-husband. It's not like he was satisfied, even called her "a fake" for whatever reason.

Sweet Genci (also known as "this ACMilan guy, what was his name") received the Serbian visa within 10 minutes and will head to Belgrade next week. Wondering if TankingTheSet would be able to guess Belgrade on a photo because he took entire hour to say the magic words "La Paloma" and still somebody did it just before him.

News of the day, kostas kastoria will be shagging tomorrow a woman who is married and has a child but "wants an adventure with a young boy like me".

Xaxaxaxaxa,
N.M.

Back to domestic football and we need to beat Swansea tomorrow, their supporters will be bringing Croatia flags and songs, but for me it's all about the game and getting 3 points.

1 16 years old, and the second time I did I broke the window on my friend's uncle's door. He brushed the incident under the carpet though, luckily for me.

2 Around same age but only because some hot girls offered me it, if it was some scruffy gangsta boys I'd have ignored them  I don't smoke at all however.

3 I haven't yet (a scary admission?)

4 I haven't ever tasted pot but a college friend occasionally goes to the woods near to the campus to have a smoke. She's actually a very sensible down to earth girl too, not like she's a low life or tracksuit wearing trouble maker. She says smoking it calms her worries and makes her feel happy

Yes, season ticket holder.

Swansea are actually quite fancied to be promoted this year and they have an infrastructure to go to a higher level. We need to put a spanner in the works and keep our own promotion ambitions on course.

Cov? Ah yes. A club that was once a top flight club. And when it was it came to Tranmere for a third round cup tie in 1999, led 1-0 at half time and you know the rest.

The Championship as a division is quite close, apart from Watford and WBA who are clearly streets ahead of the other sides.

True, but even they aren't compared to the other sides that have dominated in the past (Reading, Sunderland, Bolton)

What happened to the takeover bids? Coventry is a fairly attractive club, I'm amazed you haven't been bought yet.

Although a takeover might not be stable, look at Milan's merry-go-round at your neighbours

I wonder how long Ian Holloway will be there for and if he'll apply for Birmingham in about six weeks time like Megson did for Bolton.

Bolton won the Championship in 1997 and they were here last day and on course to score 100 points and 100 goals, a rare double, when we hit a last minute goal to spoil it, which was funny

Our old chairman screwed us years ago and when we went down about 7 years ago now, our debt increased dramatically.
Depsite beliefs that our debt had been reduced we find out debt level is exactly the same and a player we signed on a free this summer (but had to pay costs for as he's under 23) we couldn't afford to pay back so for the moment we can't by anyone.
Talkover talks have been happening for a long time now but things have gone quiet again recently :o

Very true, especially as it's now widely regarded that Dowie was promised money to spend when he took us over and the opposite has happened as the takeover still hasn't materialised, so Dowie would have every right to leave but thankfully he didn't.
Leicester would have gave him money but we're the club still more likely to go back up (I hope)

We are buying clothes and cosmetics do be pretty for our sunshines

But personally I hate shopping with someone else, both as a shopper and a friend assisting. I go where I want, take what I need, one hour and it's over. I hate when someone is so undecided... but also feel for people who must wait, even 10 minutes, when I'm trying things out. So I am not asking for an assist myself.

The guy from Rogers forum who uploads the highlights hasn't done it yet for todays match and therefore I haven't seen anything yet. I don't know how such exhos work and whether they are fixed, but anyone who really thinks Roger played his best tennis there needs to search professional help.

Where do you live in Germany btw?

I write all the crap that exists except fantasy cos it's boring (for me to write) and philosophy because this would look very cheap if I tried that on.

I guess thrillers, romances and just comedy books, these are the coolest to me and easy to write :D

When did you start to write? I have written stories myself since I was a child. At school I once had the opportunity to read one of my stories to an author who was introducing her newest book. She gave me her address and asked me to send her my stories, but I wasn't courageous enough. Well, I was about 12 years old at that time. Later I regretted it that I didn't send the stuff.

Fantasy is my least favourite type to read. I'm one of the few people who hasn't read any of the Harry Potter books.

Have you ever contact a publishing house? I hope you'll find a publisher for your stuff.

I've had stops near Hannover few weeks ago when going to Holland :drive:

I learnt how to write when I was 3 and probably have been writing stories already then  But that was rather a childish bla bla. Also funny thing that my parents were always writing me stuff for classes but when I was 10 or smth, we were moving to another city and my parents were away for the whole evening and I had to make up the continuation of a school lecture for the next day. So I wrote myself off and heard on the next day it was on level of 15 y.o.

Since then my parents didn't want to write for me anymore :o.

Nah, I've never gone to any publishing houses, I lost hundreds of chances at highschool because my parents were against it and when I entered law faculty I gave up the dreams, but I got accidentaly into journalism and figured that making other people smile with my writing is something that really makes me happy and valuable, so I would like to take a chance.

I haven't read Harry Potter either.

My mother never pays the clothes (or other stuff) that I choose for myself. That is why I am very picky about where we are going. When she tells me that we are going to the discount shop I usually say that I prefer staying at home. I can't be bothered to spend 2 hours there. I never find anything for myself because the clothes there are nothing for me (except for the jeans but they are not really that much cheaper than the ones you can get at 'normal' shops) and I am not good at saying whether something fits her or not. I admit it that I am simply lousy at giving someone shopping advice. My mother is also not the kind of person who takes advice seriously. She buys what she likes. :p
