yes, we were coming back home from cyprus with transit in AThens. In Tirana was bad weather and the plane had to go back to Greece. Since we didnt have greek visa we had to wait inside the airport till the next flight, 30+ hours later. I found myself in Tom Hanks in The terminal movie

Did you meet someone like Catherize Zeta Jones?:p

And Merton, which club do you support in Greece? Kastoria by any chance? :haha:

Panathinaikos :rocker2: I really dislike Olympiakos, when they play with the Eskimos I support the Eskimos. Of course Olympiakos fans are similar, they hate Panathinaikos.

Hi Gu. Ferrer is the slight favourite against Roddick.

I think he is similar to Hewitt, definitely an overachiever.

what has Ferrer achieved to be considered overachiever?

apart form 5-6 titles and a slam SF

Probably the 3rd Albanian after Mother Teresa and Hodza that I have heard of

The 4th had to be Mirela Manjani :awww:.

True, but Hewitt can handle the net, he just doesn't have the power to go there consistently.

Slam SF is too much for his lack of game. Same can be said about his top 10 incursion.

If that is not overachieving, tell me what is.

I doubt that back in 2004 you could have predicted him making it to the top-10, he didn't have a ball heavy enough to be a contender for the top titles on clay and he lacked weapons for other surfaces. I think he has done pretty awesome for himself.

in 2004 you could have predicted a max rank of top 20 for him

but he has adapted his game a lot to hard courts and needs credit for that. And the credit is of course the results he's having, which are no fluke

I expect him to confirm in top 10 next year

I am very close to being perfect. I mean, I am annoying, oversmartassing, neurotic, slutty, irresponsible, argue for the sake of it and I am fat, but at least I for sure don't like Roddick, Nadal, Hewitt and Manchester United.

As for Ferrer, he is developing with age. I find his game interesting, it's not moonballing, he has a clue. Not as spellbounding like Rios or Bandy, but still enjoyable to me.

After the collapse of communism he moved to Greece and it was a good thing for him, I heard him talking after his first title in Barcelona about training conditions in Albania and it was just sad.

haha, one of my students just told me a joke involving greeks (no offense Merton :p)

'some people were trying to distribute a gay to each country. they were in an airplane and were throwing them with parachute. 1 in Romania's, 1 in Bulgaria, 1 in Macedonia. Then they throw 1 in Greece and 1 of them shouts 'nooo, we wasted this one'. 'why? -asked the other. 'this is where we loaded the plane'.

We share feelings about Hewitt and Manchester United. I don't mind Nadal but I am not a fan either. But come you don't like a former Sopot champ? :p
I am not a fan of Ferrer either but he deserves a lot of respect, his counterpunching is interesting to watch. Surprisingly for his style he is kind of a late bloomer.
