I really don't know what's the big deal with all those new sitcoms... I still miss Seinfeld...

Blake plays like a clown in any pressure cooker situation, Roddick will need two wins in singles to secure it.

Most probably Russia will not use Davydenko since Andy and James are both bad matchups. That leaves Youzhny, Tursunov and Andreev. Andreev is not that dangerous indoors, so my guess is that Russia will try to take a 2-0 lead in the singles during the 1st day, relying on Tursunov winning against Andy and Youzhny winning against Blake. It is quite a long shot.

They have not won since 1995, besides it is very unlikely for them to win in any given year given that they will have to face a good team away on clay. This year the US was lucky that Stepanek did not play for the Czechs in the first round. Even surviving that, they could have faced Argentina away in the semis.

Even without Stepanek, Berdych should win against Andy on clay perhaps 9 matches out of 10 but in this specific match he just played a brainless match and lost to a motivated Andy. Had he won it would be interesting to see Blake trying to close out the tie against Dlouhy.

Berdych for me is a little bit overrated. He's produced more bad performances than good ones in the times I've seen him. He reminds me of a cross between Safin and Gonzalez, with hard but controlled hitting, but he's unstable and doesn't look like doing it consistently. I've never really seen him look like a grand slam contender except when he plays Nadal.

As for Roddick on clay, you'd think Berdych should win, but Andy has played a grinder kind of game in the past year or two since his forehand mysteriously lost all its power, and he can get enough balls back for Tomas to implode.

Berdych is a man who has lost to Srichaphan and LaLo on clay, he just needs to draw Ginepri next year to complete an unwanted set.

You underestimate the Grandmaster when he is off, Blake can literally spray balls everywhere on any given day, against anybody. Still, it is the most horrible matchup possible for Nadal away from clay and even on clay James would have decent chances in a best of 3 match.

Berdman has many muppet losses, though when he plays Acasuso he looks like Rod Laver.

Hope you get a job in Australia, then you come to the most fan friendly of the GS events and the most fun.

That's as silly as saying that Boredo would consistently beat Corretja, Mantilla, Berasategui, Medvedev, Al Costa, Norman, Kafelnikov on clay in that 97 thread you posted.

Thanks man, actually it is quite possible, the job descriptions fit well and I wouldn't mind moving over there for 5-6 years. It depends on how many local guys they have available, I guess they would prefer locals, other things being equal.

On other news, Greece will lead a group for the World Cup qualifiers :haha: And they try to find a way so that Thanou does not take the gold medal from Marion Jones after the latter got defaulted for doping :haha: :haha: :haha:

Looking forward to seeing what group Norway get stuck with in the World Cup qualifiers and hope we get England again. Thanou can't get the medal either for her shenanigans.

Thanou had the famous motorcycle "accident" but she never got officialy banned, so she threatens legal action if they don't give her the Jones medal. Somehow they will find a way to not give her the medal, otherwise it would be a total joke.

He would beat them at least half the time. Look at all the bad losses they had on clay.

Berasategui lost to two players ranked in the 170s that year on clay
Kafelnikov had some bad losses, I went through them already, you can say what you want about betting but they were bad losses.
Mantilla was pretty good on clay that year but he still lost to Martin Sinner in Munich
Attilla Savolt took Medvedev to 5 sets on clay, Kucera beat him as did Draper
Costa lost to van Scheppinghen, Mark Woodruff, Goenneller
Corretja lost to Sanchez, Blanco,Volica Dewulf(ranked 122 at the time), Phillippous.

Its funny, people actually think Im a Tommy fanboy, but Ive only seen him play about two times, I just like defending the irrational hate agaisnt him.

You know nothing about match ups it seems. Did you actually watch tennis during that time? Be honest with me. If not, then there is no point having this discussion.

Rosset at his best would beat Boredo, not cause he is a better technically as a player, it's because he had a huge serve and knew how to use it on clay and Boredo struggles against this player and has shown that time and again. He wouldn't get the returns deep enough and then Rosset would pound his backhand with his inside out forehand.

When you said Kafelnikov sucked on clay you lost any crediblity.

Merton

I doubt it can go lower than that, we will soon hear calls for nominating Sampras and Agassi for the US team.

It seems that cyrusking starts to make the case at least for Sampras in the DC team. http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=113611

First I never said that buuuuut in 97 Kafelnikov waas not good on clay, that is true, he wasnt bad, but he wasnt good.

I live in Canada, do you think I watched a lot of tennis then? Of course not, it wasnt on TV. Ill admit Rosset could beat him then, I dont recall enough about his serving on clay to know, I know he had a good serve, but the other 5 people that we were ACTUALLY talking about, the ones you said before, none of them really had big serves.

Id love to stick around and discuss this with you, but Im tired its 115 in the morning and I have a lot of work to do tomorrow. Have a good night :wavey:

In other words you hadn't seen them play at that time and are going off results, to make up for the fact that you hadn't seen them play.

Kafelnikov peaked for the GS events and he had lots of dumb losses, some cause he didn't give a fuck about and others cause he fixed them.

I can go through the whole the list if you want. Your argument is looking very weak actually. I had seen these guys play at their best and their worst and I have seen Boredo at that level as well.

Medvedev massive serve and got huge kickers and would use the angles to get Boredo out of court, hit behind him and then bring him to the net.

Rios easily he would take away Boredo's time.

Want me to keep going? Costa beat Boredo when he was past his best.

Nope - the qualies have an open draw as far as I know.
As of this year there are 7.
The first 4 are in may(they're sponsored by a bulgarian Beer company Zagorka - so they're called the Zagorka gold cup)
But the 3 new ones start from the end of August and end in the beginning of september.

TOP 8 MORONS OF 2006

1. WILL THE REAL DUMMY PLEASE STAND UP?
AT&T fired President John Walter after nine months, saying he lacked intellectual leadership. He received a $26 million
severance package. Perhaps it's not Walter who's lacking intelligence.

2. WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS:
Police in Oakland, CA spent two hours attempting to subdue
a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing ten tear gas canisters, officers discovered that the
man was standing beside them in the police line, shouting, "Please come out and give yourself up."

3. WHAT WAS PLAN B?
An Illinois man, pretending to have a gun, kidnapped a motorist and forced him to
drive to two different automated teller machines, wherein the kidnapper proceeded to withdraw money from his own bank accounts.

4. THE GETAWAY!
A man walked into a Topeka , Kansas Kiwi Stop and asked for all the money in the cash drawer.
Apparently, the take was too small, so he tied up the store clerk and worked the counter himself for three hours until police showed up and grabbed him.

5. DID I SAY THAT?
Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn't control himself during a lineup.
When detectives asked each man in the lineup to repeat the words: "Give me all your money or I'll shoot", the man shouted, "that's not what I said!".

6. ARE WE COMMUNICATING?
A man spoke frantically into the phone: "My wife is pregnant and her contractions
are only two minutes! apart". "Is this her first child?" the doctor asked
"No!" the man shouted, "This is her husband!"

7. NOT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED!
In Modesto , CA , Steven Richard King was arrested for trying to
hold up a Bank of America branch without a weapon. King used a thumb and a finger to simulate a gun.
Unfortunately, he failed to keep his hand in his pocket. (hellooooooo)!

8. THE GRAND FINALE!!!
Last summer, down on Lake Isabella, located in the high desert, an hour east of Bakersfield, CA,
some folks, new to boating, were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get their brand new 22 foot
boat, going. It was very sluggish in almost every maneuver, no matter how much power they applied. After about an hour of
trying to make it go, they putted into a nearby marina, thinking someone there may be able to tell them what was wrong. A thorough
topside check revealed everything in perfect working condition The engine ran fine, the out-drive went up and down, and the
propeller was the correct size and pitch. So, one of the marina guys jumped in the water to check underneath. He came up choking
on water, he was laughing so hard.
NOW REMEMBER...THIS IS TRUE. Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer!

Different from Spain, and different from Argentina. I think that in Argentina they speak Lunfardo.

And our "Chilean" it's mixed up with some Indian words too. Like Porotos or Papas.

Wow - you really know your stuff :D
While that may be true - it's also cheaper :p And my financial state isn't exactly blossoming atm, but hopefully that'll change in the next couple of months :p (Also - every city in the GDR is a heaven compared to most of the bulgarian cities)
Ah - don't underestimate the power of the Karl-Marx Stadt! :p Have you been to Chemnitz?

Actually I would rather any place in Bulgaria than the former GDR. Weather is warmer, the food is better, the landscape is better, but it will be an experience to go there.

Yes, I have been to Chemnitz and it's a dump, Magdeburg is quite racist.

Mug,... will be probably here in Chile known as "huevón". but in the chat language we write it has "weon".

It's like a big idiot or something. But it has a multiple number of uses here.

Nope - Warsaw is like that :p
You have a good train connection and it isn't expensive, just you need to catch Polish trains and not German :o

Surely Berlin isn't the cheapest city in Germany, but there are also more expensive countries in Europe. When you're a student, they'll pack you to a comfortable dorm if you don't have a flat, and as for buying food, there are some student restaurants and you can also buy it in discounts.

And you surely won't regret being there if you like the charm of big cities :D

ClaudiuS

we almost use that as the "Che" from the Argies. But not in the original meaning, you're not a Chilean if don't have huevón completely incorporaded in your day by day vocabulary, but only with friends and close people, of course.

So Kalfelnikov peaked for Grand Slams, WHO CARES, that means Tommy would beat him outside GSs which means Tommy would beat him half the time at least. Maybe you saw then, but youre a biased moonballer lover so your opinion isnt exactly one thats very good.

Also why do you always change the subject, I dont mention Rios anywhere and he would easily take Boredo's time away. Its almost like you dont read what I write and you just write what you want. Its too bad that Nadal didnt play in the 90s, the way you make the game sound he would have been lucky to crack the top 50 with this insane amount of moonballers.

If you serious dont think Robredo would be in the top 40, let alone top 15 maybe you should get with times. Its funny when old men cant let go of the past, maybe you should try it ;)

What is a twister? A game? I think we don't have it here...
