In the local part of 20minutes paper they write the end is for 2012

No time to translate but he would have say to this paper he would stop in 2012 because of the body. He would start in Nouméa, play AO qualies and could stop after Wimbledon.

Je me suis souvent comparé à Michael Chang.

Arnaud Clement drew up his racket in 2012

Plagued by injuries, Arnaud Clement will start his final year running after the yellow balls. As if that was just a bonus. "With my game, I did not last so long. I've often compared to Michael Chang. Him, he stopped at 28, I thought I have to say stop to 30 years. I'm 34 and I still ongoing. "Even if the" key "has never won a Grand Slam, he has no regrets, arguing its great run in the Australian Open in 2001. "Compared to other tennis players, I've never set big goals, except perhaps the Open 13 in Marseille. I won the rest in 2006, out in half and Ancic Nadal in the final in front of my family and my family, "enthuses the Aix who knows now that his career is behind him. "This year, I'll just try to enjoy, have fun and make big matches to beat the headliners. "It is also necessary to follow the natural man in bandana that has not been spared in recent seasons. "Mentally, I'm ready, but it grinds a little everywhere in the joints," sighs Arnaud Clement, who does not apprehend any of his late career. "When I stop, I'll rest for a few months to return to normal life without travel. "A new pace of life after fifteen years on circuits.E. M.

I read the article more precisely what i didn't do this morning  In the quotations of Arno's words he doesn't say he will retire in 2012. Then the journalist gives his schedule which stresses that he will stop in 2012. Well the end in 2012 is more that an option anyway

Needs a good draw and feels pain free. We'll see

Yes, he doesn't say anywhere he'll stop in 2012.
That's the newspaper which makes this supposition !
Maybe Arnaud will stop at the end of 2012, but I'm pretty sure he has not decided it. Or, he has not decided to annonce it now.

he doesn't just outlast michael chang in longevity, he outlasts most players at 34. he's only started to struggle with injuries this past year.

Confirmed in l'equipe

The shoulder, the elbow and now the hip hurt him  He says that his body asked him to stop and so it's just lucidity to do it. He will normally play 6 months and if everything is OK he could play until the end of the season but it will be again a decision of his body :o He says he could play some doubles then even in 2013 if he has the desire.

So we can consider it's official

Schedule: Noumea, AO qualies, Montpellier, Marseille according l'equipe. So if the body is OK you can wait for him Via ;)

Yes in 2010 he was still competitive and even this year he was near to win the biggest challenger of the year (Orleans)

So we can consider it's official

Now I think we can
It's not a bad thing. I mean, it's been a long time he's not really competitive, to win 2 matchs in a row has become quite unpossible... but well, it's weird to imagine tennis world without arnaud !
Only the last sentence makes me smile (it's my dream !!!!!)

And you see him as a captain ? As i said in the other day i'm not sure he's done for this job ;). He's not a chief and too nice with the guys.

I was reading comments on twitter and a tennis journalist was saying that he could be good as DC trainer but also too bad in english for DC Captain  Well I'm OK he could be a good trainer but with which captain ? And 2013 is maybe too soon for him  After 2012 Arno will surely take time for him. The reconversion is a big deal

That his English is too bad for a captain shouldn't be a problem. It's his English at this moment, he can take a course if he needs it. It's not that I find a lot of news from Forget in English when it comes to DC. :p

Arnaud jokes that if he stays in TOP-50 at the end of the season, he will continue playing ATP :)

Une saison qui sera donc la dernière... Sûr et certain ?
Arnaud : « Normalement. »
