Hasn't Hewitt got a WC?

And don't they give a WC to a Pom?

Hewitt, by default, it has long earned his wild card.

I think that agreement ended this year.

It also depends on who wants to play qualies in Melbourne, would you rather play MD Sydney or get a chance to qualify for a slam?

The very top players don't play this week and most of the clay courters go to Auckland. What's left is a solid list of players who generally good on hard courts.

I don't like Delpo playing here. It's too soon before the AO, especially if he gets deep.

Bogomolov and Mayer both had injuries this week. I think there is a big chance that they will withdraw. It's stupid to risk a more serious injury just before AO. Kubot should be safe.
