2012: Who Will RISE?

Nole, Raonic, Dolgo, Ferrer, Tipsy, Fish all rose in 2011. To a lesser degree, Bogomolov, Young, Dodig, Nishikori, Stebe finally had good years as well. Who will be the man to beat in 2012?

But on a serious note, I do think players like Bedene and Goffin will begin to mature and rise up the rankings. Other low ranked youngsters like P.H. Herbert and Grigelis should rise. Stebe should move even further up the top 100, as should Dimitrov, Berankis and Tomic. It's a pretty safe bet that these talented youngster will get better.

I also think Golubev will have a good season. He lost some confidence this year but showed how good he si when he gave Nadal a great fight. next year he will make goood on his talent and rise pretty high. Don;t be shocked if he is top 40 by the the time of the US Open

I won't get any bans if I don't insult people or do anything wrong, which I don't. I will, however, gloat. The amount of gloating I will do can't be comprehended by the human mind. I hope you're looking forward to it because 2012 will be Murray's rising year and then 2013 will be his dominant year. His form near the end of this year was pretty good. Probably the best he's been for a long time. However, injury forced him out of WTF. That was unfortunate, but he has an entire month to train and get better.

Djokovic is playing terribly and so is Nadal. Federer is the only one playing well, so Murray's only threat will be him. Djokovic and Nadal are going to fall. Their type of tennis is stressful on the body and is crap, to put it simply. They will fall, Federer will rise a bit and Murray will rise a lot. Get ready for Murray's breakthrough year :wavey:

Any slam will do. I'd love him to absolutely trash Djokovic or Nadal. Would be amazing to see him swat aside either of those cheaters. However, I'm not picky, so I couldn't care less who he faces. As long as embarrasses the haters with a win, I don't care who he beats or where he beats them.

I guess the slightly faster hardcourt slams will be better than the other two slow-as-hell slams.

Murray's tennis is way below theirs when it comes to stress. He runs a lot, but his variety, serve and occasionaly massive game help him out a lot. What do Djokovic and Nadal have? Nothing, they have to work for their wins. They have no massive shots. At least Murray has a big backhand and a big serve. Their serves are tiny compared to his.

They will burn out way before Murray does.

I don't think anyone will make a significant impact at the top of the game who hasn't already, so I ignored the poll.

Murray is more passive than Nadal and Novak and therefore he gets more worn out then them two...Dont forget that Murray has longer list of injuries than Novak who got worn out at the end of this year....also saying that Nadal and Djokovic will fall is your wishful thinking...Fed wont rise Murray might but fact is you dont know 1 thing what will happen and neither do the rest of us

Murray's BH is great but compared to Novak's is not even in the same league while his serve when on is great is always at 50%...Novak and Rafa have more complete ground games than Andy and that's why they have success

Soderling will rise and win at least another masters title. back in top 4. nole will fall. losing many points leaving federer,murray or nadal to dominate.

delpotro will also rise making big GS results. prob win a 1000 title aswell.

Berdych, I'm not sure about. I don't know what will happen to him. Probably remain a floater as well. Maybe him and Soderling will hang around that 3rd and 4th round territory.

Definitely agree with you...them 2 are the only ones left since Gonzo is not around...Sod maybe...Berdych only if playing against Fed at some GS stage... Where did you ever see Verdasco threatening anybody...he's done!

I still somehow hope Igor Andreev can sort himself out and start playing great...he could easily be a top 20 player!!
