When Will Fed RetireTENNISCRACK 11-27-2011, 08:39 PM I'm curious when you guys think Fed will offically retire from singles ? Mae 11-27-2011, 08:41 PM I was waiting for this the guy just wins the WTF and the question of when he will retire comes up  Orka_n 11-27-2011, 08:42 PM 2013 or 2014, depending on his results next year. scarecrows 11-27-2011, 08:43 PM talking about appropriate thread at the right time BigJohn 11-27-2011, 08:44 PM Looks like it will be after Nadal. nastoff 11-27-2011, 08:44 PM 3 years, he likes his job...unless he gets fed up and retires early. NID 11-27-2011, 08:56 PM I'm curious when you guys think Fed will offically retire from singles ? Unofficially, he has already retired. ATP will keep it a secret for a couple of more years. lazybear 11-27-2011, 09:12 PM He could retire from the top 10 at 35 imo, but i don't think he will play that long. If i would bet, i would bet on the end of the 2014 season, and he will retire as a top 10 player in the world. Looner 11-27-2011, 09:20 PM I am a tempted to say after Rio 2016. That's what I hope at least. sexybeast 11-27-2011, 09:23 PM I predict 2016-2018. Sonja1989 11-27-2011, 09:25 PM Not from the 3rd place. Anyway, he isn't that old. Look at Schüettler, he is who should start to thinking about it. Linque 11-27-2011, 09:38 PM Right now it's starting to feel like he enjoys playing a lot more again, compared to earlier this year. Three months ago I would've said he'd be done after next year with the olympics and all, but now I'm not so sure. There's a lot of incredible records he could make if he's hungry enough. Mongoose 11-27-2011, 09:45 PM a few months ago, for his fans lessthanjake 11-27-2011, 09:46 PM A few years ago I thought he'd be done at the end of the 2012 season; he would just stick around long enough to have another shot at the Olympics. And while he HAS declined, for some reason I expect him to stay around longer than that now, maybe retiring after the 2013 or 2014 season. Ibracadabra 11-27-2011, 10:15 PM Really can't see him going to 2016, although i would love it cool bird1 11-27-2011, 10:18 PM A few years ago I thought he'd be done at the end of the 2012 season; he would just stick around long enough to have another shot at the Olympics. But now im not to sure I think his back will have a large say thou. I by the times his kids start school he will prob hang up the racket. Fuser59 11-27-2011, 10:51 PM He will retire when Nadull wins his 10th Monte Caro joke of a tournament.. Sham Kay 11-28-2011, 12:01 AM A couple years after Djokovic and Murray. Four years after Nadal. A year before Ferrer. TENNISCRACK 11-28-2011, 04:17 AM yea that would be great for the sport if he could stick around that long BlueSwan 11-28-2011, 04:25 AM 2013. RafaNadal2012!!! 11-28-2011, 04:27 AM 2016 after Olympics, or at least that's what he says I believe 2014 after possible swan song somewhere. coonster14 11-28-2011, 04:58 AM Maybe in 2-3 years time. It will be a sad day when he does officially retire , I enjoy watching him play. :) atennisfan 11-28-2011, 05:44 AM 2013. I don't think he'll like it being out of top 4, and that's when I predict he will fall out of top 4, so that's when he'll retire. MuzzahLovah 11-28-2011, 06:10 AM This year, after the Olympics. tyruk14 11-28-2011, 06:21 AM Maybe 2013. tealeaves 11-28-2011, 06:47 AM Heart says 2016 Rio Olympics Head says 2014 USO/WTF(If he still has it) Arkulari 11-28-2011, 06:58 AM At this rate and seeing how bad the following generations are, he might end up retiring at 40 :haha: :spit: Hagar 11-28-2011, 07:18 AM I honestly think retirement is the last thing on his mind. A couple of days ago on Facebook he was still talking about "many years to play for his fans". Paul Annacone said in an interview that he still totally loves this way of life, unlike Pete who had enough of it. I think Roger will play as long as he is winning important matches and tournaments and he will do everything to make that happen. BroTree123 11-28-2011, 07:23 AM Fed can probably still routine mugs in his 60's pray-for-palestine-and-israel 11-28-2011, 09:22 AM why retire everyone will cry if he goes next year- then he'll do the borg style come back then everyone will say he's not the same player then hell retire again Crazy Girl 11-28-2011, 09:30 AM don't know. i hope more late as possible. anyway, when he retires, he will have more time for me.. (for his little sheep):angel::angel: Crazy Girl 11-28-2011, 09:32 AM Looks like it will be after Nadal.mmmhhhh maybe, it could be...;) StatRacket 11-28-2011, 11:41 AM I think a lot depends on results. If he wins both Davis Cup and Olympics next year then it probably will be sooner. sexybeast 11-28-2011, 11:43 AM don't know. i hope more late as possible. anyway, when he retires, he will have more time for me.. (for his little sheep):angel::angel: I feel ashamed and completely ignorant now, but what kind of position is "the little sheep"? sexybeast 11-28-2011, 11:45 AM Federer himself said: “I love this game more than anybody, so I'm not all of a sudden going to wake up in the morning and say I don't like it anymore." Dont think he will retire as long as he is in the top 10 to be honest and he will probably stay there for another 5 years. Kworb 11-28-2011, 01:09 PM His kids can't keep following him around... I think he will play a few more years but with a drastically reduced schedule. Crazy Girl 11-28-2011, 08:29 PM I feel ashamed and completely ignorant now, but what kind of position is "the little sheep"? in italy is "pecorina" = Little sheep. see the sig: for the english is doggy-style.:rolleyes: (someone like sheep, someone like doggy....however is always an animal at four paws ):o:o:o:o:o (have I said clear??:o:o) SetSampras 11-28-2011, 08:32 PM Aye who knows.. Can't see Fed sticking around when he knows he isn't a threat at the slams anymore with the size of his ego. But the field is so damn muggy outside the top 4, Im sure Fed will be a threat for a while until he hangs it up sexybeast 11-28-2011, 09:06 PM in italy is "pecorina" = Little sheep. see the sig: for the english is doggy-style.:rolleyes: (someone like sheep, someone like doggy....however is always an animal at four paws ):o:o:o:o:o (have I said clear??:o:o) Love it, "pecorina" sounds more romantic then "doggystyle" and from now on I will use it and girls will ask me "what is that?" and my answer will be "turn around and I am going to show you". Thank you, I guess you learn something new every day. Federer_28 11-28-2011, 09:14 PM 2016 Fed is in great shape and unless he starts to get injured he'll be playing into his mid 30's Crazy Girl 11-28-2011, 09:51 PM 2016 Fed is in great shape and unless he starts to get injured he'll be playing into his mid 30's 2016???????????!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek: it's too far!!! however I would be happy!!!;) Crazy Girl 11-28-2011, 09:53 PM Love it, "pecorina" sounds more romantic :angel::angel: then "doggystyle" and from now on I will use it and :eek::eek:girls will ask me "what is that?" and my answer will be "turn around and I am going to show you".:eek::eek: Thank you, I guess you learn something new every day.:lol::lol: :spit::spit::spit: Federer&Hingis 11-29-2011, 06:52 AM 2015 - 2016 tangerine_dream 01-26-2012, 07:18 PM After the Olympics. Poirot123 01-26-2012, 07:22 PM His kids can't keep following him around... I think he will play a few more years but with a drastically reduced schedule. I'm sure Federer said that he wanted to keep playing so his twin daughters could see and remember him playing at a high level live. So I can see him going on until 2016... Possibly post Nadal (anything to get that gold medal at the 2016 Olympics when Rafa isn't around!). Slice Winner 01-26-2012, 07:47 PM He said in his interview today he wants to come back for several more Aus Opens. Whether or not you believe him is another matter. Garson007 01-26-2012, 08:05 PM He'll retire when he isn't seeded anymore. abollo 01-26-2012, 08:08 PM Never | |
