Just saw this, truly horrific.
Huge crash early in the race, they called the race off and the rest of the racers did a 5 lap tribute. Really sad and gut wrenching to watch.
33 years old, guy was far too young to go. At least he is in a better place now.

Never heard of him, and it's a sport I know or care nothing about.
But, he had a wife and children who are now without a husband and father respectively. RIP.

Sad, but when one joins in on a 'sport' (sorry, no, that is NOT a sport) like that, this is the risk one takes. :shrug:

A terrible thing to happen. I don´t mean to sound disrespectful, but racing open wheel-, open cockpit- cars that reach such high speeds on oval tracks that have nothing but concrete walls surrounding them is just asking for trouble. Still, it´s a terrible tragedy.
