Nice.

What a performance on the big stage from Kei. Dolgo couldn't find any form today and his usually bewildering tricks were just playing into Kei's strengths.

Mah boi is into the top 30 now.. and rising. Booyah.

Murray/Ebden next.

Dolgo was playing average all week tbh, he said so himself, really good week for him regardless :yeah:

nishikori in SF of masters :spit:
dolgo was way too eratic, nishi played consistently well although he was lucky many times with the line calls. his balls clipped the lines and called in, whilst dolgo's were called out.

Dogs Balls had so many break chances 1/7 not good enough, but Nishikori's consistency was too much.

There was this one raging Nishikori fan wonders if she posts on MTF.

Good for tennis. Mugopolov is a joke, once he plays someone who can deal with junk he looks like a clown out there. If either he or Tomug make the top 10 with their dumb style tennis will be at a new low :o

Dolgo's performance:

errorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerror errorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerror errorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerror errorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerror errorerrorerrorerrorerrorerror

Awful stuff.

Nishikori was really solid, but didn't need to do much, just wait for Dolgo to UE.

Well done Nishikori, great win for him :bigclap: Watched only second set, Dolgopolov showed why he isn't top 10, played stupid tennis, I guess there's no other word. Good to see him out :)

Congrats to Kei :yeah:
Dolgo looked quite pissed off. On the one hand, this probably caused more errors. On the other hand, I'm happy to see him caring about the result. Being the happy-go-lucky type, he might have just been content with his first M1000 QF, but he wanted more.

Disappointed for Dolgo, but he's had a great week here and his ranking is already very solid, while Kei needed this more. I noticed his defence and retrieval wasn't very good today, Kei was hitting through him consistently.. something to work on.

Remember, he was the original wunderkind of the younger generation. ;)
This kind of results should have happened two years ago had he not got injured.
Good luck in SF!!!

Great performance and ditto result for Nishikori, congrats to him and his fans. Good tactics, wonderful netplay, kept his cool where he needed it... in all, deserved winner. Great for Japanese tennis, and how nice to see him in a semifinal in an Asian masters tournament! :worship:

But oh-oh Dolgo. :banghead:
Absymal is the only correct working for this showing. Strings of ridiculous UEs, dumb tactics playing to Nishikori's strenghths, awful body language - in other words, pure toilet. DF-'ing on BP, what a way to go!
Wonder if he actually wanted to show up at all today. Damn it Alex, I love you, but eh... screw the brain on next time, okay? :o

Dolgopolov served way to bad. He was at like 20%-25% for his first service games. Think he ended on 40ish or so but it's so useless to give the opponent that kind of advantage. And some double faults also come from the sheer amount of 2nd serves he has to do.

Match got decided in the 1st set. The Dog was 0-6 on BPs including wasting a 0-40 and a 0-30 as Kei was serving for it. Then he got very frustrated and Kei played smart tennis keeping his errors down and letting Dolgo self-destruct.

Actually she was his mum.

Hope it was! otherwise she was way to into it :) kinda cute with that level of affection regardless

Do you like Santoro or just use him for your avatar?

Tomic and Dolgopolov hit junk and then bash the ball for a winner. Santoro set up shots, was one of the best volleyers in the game, and hit awesome trick shots these mugs couldn't dream of. Santoro was also the nicest guy on tour and a legend of the game who played through 3 eras and beat the best players ever. It was always great to see how Santoro would win a point, while with these mugs they mostly wait for errors or go for broke on a low percentage shot. comparing the Magician to these two mugs is an insult :wavey:

Awesome tournament for Kei. Making his move now. First it was the Don and now its Kei. The Win-Tang clan is making some serious noise late in 2011.

Still loving this result! I stayed up for the match, but fell asleep at 4-2 in the second set. I wish I could have seen the conclusion, but it's awesome either way.

Allez Kei !

this match felt like a bad hangover after watching the ferrer/roddick battle.

Key to the match: Dolgopolov was spoonfeeding Nishikori's backhand the whole match, and allowed him to dictate the points. Of course the errors were too many, but when the rally did get going, Alex had a really bad idea of constructing the point.

That woman  The enthusiasm she displayed was extraordinary. The camera panned to her (or another equally emotional woman) after Nishikori won a point, and Doug Adler said "She must have a lot of money on this match"...

Dolgopolov was pretty horrible, when he loses it is so uninspiring because it doesn't look like he's tried too hard. Nishikori was very solid though, and I hope he gives Murray a good test
