Why is Odesnik choosing this over Charlottesville? Too much hate in US?

He's better on clay than on indoor hard. Clay is his preferred surface.

List is great. Of course, again, Rui being here I'm not pleased about. As long as he doesn't win this event, which would be a horrific thing, then it's fine. GL to all my favorites.

Well, not much to do for Rui at this time of the year but he could have tried ATP in this week actually and which is a rare thing gotta agree with Filo here ;)

So Vivian Segnini who was flirting with Kavcic got him here signed in haha ;)

Hahaha, Kavcic was already committed a while ago. As for Machado, well he's playing the Masters in Sao Paulo, so why fly back to Europe.

True, I forgot about the masters. Anyway it's lolz in the middle of South American clay swing they make an indoors hard Masters. Would be fine for players who are now in Europe but it's on the other hand different year season, weather, timezone... And these who play in SA must change a surface. Questionable - instead of choosing one option.

They should play it on clay, but Machado can stay in Brazil which is a good place to play outside.

Tough first round for Leonardo Mayer and Ruben

Top half is stronger than the bottom half. Unfortunate though that Machi and Ruben are in the same half. Hopefully they play in the SF, and then Ruben beats him. GL to Leo on the top half but his R1 is dangerous.

Super win right there for Ciric, beating Junquiera in straight sets. Needs to find the same form he finished last season with if he wants to finish the season inthe top 200, so a good start there...

Polaco and Ghem are playing each other in the quarter finals, they're good friends as well.

Machado has to take down the rat Odesnik. Mello should be tired, though with Leo Mayer one can never tell.

Ruben struggling with Ciric. Unacceptable. He needs to find a way to come back there. At least Leo won over Mello.

Pretty awful from Ruben, he broke three times in the second set, but still lost the set. He almost definitely would have lost in the finals but he would have had a great shot at getting there with Polaco in the semis. Disappointing, too many losses like that this season, he won't finish top 100 now. Hopefully he does well in his final events and sets himself up to get to the top 100 at the start of next season.

GL to Leo for the rest of the event.
