Second top win for Tomic

Dogs Balls or Ramos is next, funky match if he plays Dolgopolov.

Remembers the last time Dolgo and Tomic played in Sydney, he was out on the drink celebrating a friends birthday the night before and he still won the match.

The amount of junk in this will be epic.

Fish is a joke, completely gave up in that 2nd set and probably should have been bageled in the 3rd if Tomic hadn't choked a little and let Fish back in. Still a great win for Tomic, his game is pretty horrible but he's getting the wins and that's what you need to get ranked. Fish losing to Nadull and then Tomic when he desperately needs points to make the WTF, what a mug :o

Tomic showing why he's been a Tennis prodigy for years. Was more visibly and probably mentally cool, calm and composed than someone 10 years his senior, which is amazing considering the experience difference at the highest level. And he hasn't yet got on a hot streak in his career yet. Once Bernie gets on a roll, the top guys better watch out.. upsets will be flying left and right.

Great result. Should have beaten Fish last week anyway.

Big chance for Berdych and Tsonga to pull away from Fish here with good results.

well, the recipe against junkballing is aggressive precision tennis. Fish didn't do that today, although he is capable of it when playing his best.

Its funny how Tomic didnt celebrate or show any emotion when he won, just casually walked to shake hands.

Tomic is an incredible player, a revolutionary player, completely unique.

Nothing revolutionary about junkballing, Roddick has been doing it for years.

I actually wish Dolgopolov would do it less often. Good strategy to break an opponents rhythm, but ultimately you're putting the match on the opponents racquet.

Still, credit to Tomic for winning this one. I didn't watch the match, but it seems like Tomic won ugly based on people's posts. That shows some mental fortitude and fight.

a bit surprised about the result but I am not sure if Tomic can win his match in R3... if Dolgopolov is on, he is just too fast for Tomic, no way can Tomic handle the variety of a on fire Dolgopolov. We'll see!

He was Nole's most difficult hurdle at Wimbledon this year.

Yeah and he could've easily won that match if not for the mental lapses. Don't know why he has so many haters already, his tennis is really nice to see when it's on.

It must upset you that Tomic has already took a set off of Djokovic in a slam and hes six years younger than Murray.

Not really. Murray is in a completely different tier to the players ranked just below him, nevermind Tomic.

Did anyone actually watch this? How does Tomic win matches? Honestly, I only see him play when he loses. He seemed to play all slices in the last Fish matchup, all defensive, but he doesn't really have the speed or consistency to do that effectively.

Well, he served pretty decently from what I saw, and was strong on return.. so much so that Fish was forced into changing tactics and serve/volleying on every serve early in the 3rd set. Tomic's junkballing and slices worked well throughout the match and Mardy struggled to stay aggressive and dominate, instead opting to come in in order to end points faster.. allowing Tomic to play numerous good passing shots. Of course, Mardy's offensive game really didn't happen today.

Sure, it was still a rough around the edges performance and he always looks like he's lazing around the court, but it's quite simple to see why he won this particular match up.

haha, lol at the pro-Tomic camp. This kid will amount to nothing, he's already at or just past his physical peak (what is he, 18) and has made a lone quarter final at a slam. It's too late for him, we have to look to the next generation.

After Nadal, Federer and Djokovic retire there will be NO slam winners. I don't know how that will work, but it will happen.

No I wasn't joking, the kid will amount to nothing, MTF is unbelievably flavour of the month. Tomic doesn't even have a slam. Until he wins one (and multiple) he's just a hype job and deserves zero attention.

And, btw, junk never beats spin or power. See Murray.

We shall see when this chump faces anyone with decent firepower.

If Tomic somehow reaches the quarters, he will out-junk Murray, though and the awful kid will get even more undeserved hype.
