Battle of the bps. I think that Ferrero literally had bps in all but one Youzhny service game.
Good win, Youzhny is getting better lately. Should have a good chance against Verdasco as well.

Good to see him as a full part of the Tour again.

He didn't have BP's every single game, but it took JCF his 14th break chance to finally get the job done.

Youzhny's results have gotten a bit better from the Davis Cup and making the QF last week in Beijing, but his game hasn't. He didn't play very well, over 50 errors, poor movement, inconsistent serving. Similar numbers to his matches v Lopez and Ljubicic in Beijing where he also saved a lot of BP's, also the Bellucci match where he saved several match points. The fight is there but the game is nowhere near where it was last season. Personally I think he's pretty bad now and I'll be curious to see if there is a turn-around from him in the upcoming future.

JCF played well throughout, his game looked crisp. I can see him being a top 20 player again if he keeps this level.

GJ, Juanqui!! :worship:

BP conversion 1/14...and the only point he won was the MP with Youzhny's DF. I would've liked to see Juan Carlos win the point on his own terms but that DF was a result of JC putting a lot of pressure on Misha.
Good luck vs Nando!! :D

Youzhny isn't getting better, he was absolutely terrible on anything other than bps.

He is playing at an awful level.

Is there anyone who doesn't like Ferrero?

I don't think so.

This should've been a 6-2, 6-3 result at most because Misha was in danger of being broken almost every service game. Ferrero's first serve returning and defending isn't up to elite status yet and that is holding him back.

Juan Carlos vs. Verdasco, a thrilling 2nd rounder.

If there is, they should be burned at the stake.

JCF is still pretty good. If he is healthy he will be a second-tier threat for a few more years probably.

Wayne Carlos still knows how to get shit done. :yeah:

Only 90 points to 'defend' from Barcelona up till Wimbledon next year. Top 20 is beckoning once more (provided he stays healthy and doesn't retire at the end of the year).
