So what do you think? Each from this guys can sometimes be ,,unplayable,, when their serves are on.

I'd say Tsonga but it's really hard to decide.

Tsonga

Del Potro I say.

It's funny because Berdych is the one who finishes years with the highest % won on his first serve while he's the one with the worst 1st serve % and ace count.

Tsonga. Berdych's is the worst, though Soderling's has been in decline for a while now

Yes Berdych is well known for bad low % FS in. But when he is hitting high FS% he is winning matches pretty impressive. He has lowest ace- per game or ace-per match, but when he has better % won on FS that means he can better cover up his 1st serve with ground game or just got more free points- non aces.

Tsonga and he also has the worst ROS.

Most votes got Tsonga- he is smallest one from this group in category ace-per match it is like ciprianned wrote - Tsonga, Soderling, Delpo, Berdych, in category points won on 1st serve it is - Berdych, Tsonga, Delpo,Soderling and in category Service games won - Del Potro, Berdych, Tsonga, Soderling. 2nd serve points won - Berdych, Delpo, Soderling, Tsonga. I think they are very close in quality of serve overall.

Both are true.

Del Potro at times can be the best, but not consistently. Berdych has a big serve, but more usually relies on his ground game and surprisingly good movement for a big guy. Soderling has been out for a while, so I really don't know where he's at.

Tsonga consistently has the best serve.

Depends on the day. You could throw in guys like Gulbis and Fish in that category as well. None of them are consistent and that's why they aren't considered great servers. But like most have said, probably Tsonga's is the best by a small margin.

Tsonga has the best serve but the worst return of serve.

Berdych and Del Potro have weaker serves than both Tsonga and Soderling but are far better returners.

Somewhere there is the reason to why none of these guys can trouble the Top4 consistently. And furthermore just proves that if Del Potro has most things going in his game he is the best of the bunch and a possible adversary for better ranked players.

Del potro when he's hitting it for sure.

Poll should'nt be so lopsided in favour of Tsonga so i vote for Soderling as a compensation vote.

And Del Potro serve is overrated, it's on par with Murray, if anything it's average for his height.

who cares, Andy ROddick has a much better serve than all of them and probably swims in lakes better than they do too

Does anybody have the number of double faults for each.

Does anybody have the number of double faults for each.

Per game:

Sode 0.24
DelP 0.22
Berd 0.20
Tson 0.18

Tour average is about 0.23.

Soderling's df rate is quite impressive, as he puts quite a decent pace on the 2nd ball:

Sode 156kph
Berd 151kph
DelP 150kph
Tson 145kph

For comparison, Isner 167, Roddick, 165, Raonic 160ish, Karlovic 158. Of top guys, Fed 152, Nadal 140, Djoko 150, Murray 140.

Tsonga might have a slight edge atm. Soderlings serve is bit vulnerable to windy conditions. Has a very high ball toss. Indoors it's extremely good.

Tsonga
Soderling
Berdych
Del potro

This order imo

Not only serve, he is generally very vulnerable in windy conditions. I remember Wilander how he said before F of RG 2010 that Soderling has best serve in men´s tennis

Clearly Tsonga has the best one, I think the second is Berdych or Soderling.. Del Potro's serve isn't too good at the moment.

No it isn't. federer could get into the rallies pretty well against tsonga. he couldn't even get a racket on the ball against Berdych.

But that's different. I mean every part of Berdych's game always goes into some super crazy mode when playing Federer while usually even when he's playing well his game isn't that good.

What is Del Mugtro doing on that list? His serve is awful for his height.

It's true, he always goes into another league vs Federer. But yeah I agree he's more talented than Del Potro (my 2nd fave).
