Matkowski didn't shake hand with Petzschner because the German won a point at 2:2 (30 all) in the 2nd set unfair, hit the line playing with his left calf  Tasteless behavior by Petzschner, it's a pity he didn't give that point to the Poles acknowleging his own mistake.

Terrible sportsmanship from Petz.

That was a clinic by Melzer and Petzschner, they were 4-0 after just 8 minutes with the loss of a single point I think.
A pity Petzschner had to revert to cheating, that was terrible sportsmanship and really left a bad taste.

That was a pretty important point, too. Not the best sportsmanship, but oh well.

I thought that Fyrstenberg/Matkowski would be very nervous and they really were. Still, great result for them here.

They won 16/17 points in the first 4 games :) 3rd GS for Melzer :woohoo:

Disappointing behaviour from Petzche. Still happy with the W though - hopefully they can grab a couple more slams over the next few seasons.

Wow Matkowski is fat . I don't remember him being like that the last time I saw him, has he gained weight or did I just not pay attention? Even though doubles is less challenging physically, one would think that there are situations where he'd be better off with less weight.

Doesn't look like a big deal at all. It also happens often that players are 100% sure about a wrong call, but don't overrule it and steal the point. It has the same effect, you take advantage of a bad call.

JMG,

The problem is that this is what is called a "Gentleman's Call".

Unfortunately a "Gentleman's Call" is in conflict with being "Professional" these days. Once, Petzschner turns his back, the Poles are wasting their breath.

But let's pause for a moment. If Matkowski's next serve hits the non receiving player before bouncing, is Matkowski going to take advantage the tennis rule book?

Sikora's exaggerated comment after that was ridiculous, the guy is 63 but emotionally talks like a teenager

LMAO, I remember when in Davis Cup doubles match he was clowning around when he thought the ball hit Dodig in the last game of the match (and it didn´t), now he showed his true colours.

Wow. I always thought there was something foul and skeevish about Petzschner. I never liked him and this incident confirms my suspicions. What a cheat.

Unsporting from Petzschner, but somehow funny all the same. Incredible how he didn't own up to it, especially as Matkowski actually asked him whether the ball touched his leg.

Can't wait for these idiotic "karma" postings the next time Petzschner suffers an injury or gets a bad call.

In matches like this Petzschner shows that he can hit good double handed backhand returns on regular basis. I hope some people can admit that.
