Perugia,Italy and surrounding areas

I leave tomorrow for Perugia Italy where I will be until July 29. I am taking a couple of marketing classes there. We will have weekends off to travel around Italy.

Anyone vere been to Perugia? Any insider tips I should know? What are your suggestions about travel and places to go around that area?
