His name is Mate Delic, Junior Roland Garros semi finalist and racket breaker extraordinaire. He managed to break 3 rackets in 3 consecutive games (third set), one at 4-3, one at 5-3 and one at 6-3. Go Mate!

Si chiude con questa brutta sceneggiata l’avventura del croato Mate Delic nei 33° Internazionali Juniores di Santa Croce sull’Arno, il classico ‘vernissage’ del Trofeo Bonfiglio di Milano, che domani giungeranno all’epilogo con le finali dei singolari e dei doppi.
Proprio la sfida tra i colossi dell’Est – il croato Delic e il moldavo Maxim Dubarenco, una vera e propria finale anticipata – ha regalato emozioni forti al pubblico del Cerri, sia dentro che fuori dal campo. Questi due talenti tennistici già pronti per il salto tra i professionisti hanno messo in mostra un gioco brillante, dagli alti contenuti agonistici, spettacolare nelle soluzioni e nelle scelte tecniche.
Sembrava che Mate Delic, dopo aver perso il primo set 7-5, avesse preso le misure all’avversario, grazie a colpi più profondi e di forte intensità. Ma dopo aver pareggiato i conti (6-2 la seconda partita), Delic si è dovuto scontrare con la reazione caratteriale di un Dubarenco che al settimo game del terzo set è riuscito a produrre il break decisivo, mandando in tilt i nervi di Mate Delic: una prima racchetta è andata in frantumi sul 4-3, la seconda sul 5-3, la terza ed ultima sul 6-3 finale. Un comportamento che stona con il carattere solare e spontaneo del giocatore croato, provvisto di enormi mezzi per eccellere in breve tempo nel tennis dei grandi.

He's Croatian Junior Champion. He's 6'4,comes from Kastel which is near Split, plays with right hand and is coached by his father. Not as good of a server as Goran was but just as nervous. It should be fun to watch him.

Ok when i read the title of the thread I thought: Goran has a son and he is already a tennis prodigy?

Then big disappointment. And btw doesn't many juniors have a little temper problem? I wouldn't call anyone baby-Goran until the aces and awesome press conferences start piling up
