Juan Mugnacio Chelita making the most of the favorable draw. Amazing turnaround for him from total 5 set midget to 5 set legend :worship:

Saw only bits of it and most of the 5th, Chela was his usual boring, consistent, grunting, steady self, as scared of coming to the net as a vampire from the midday sun. Falla was highly erratic and choked the important points.

 Overall Falla was by far the better player. Oh well, at least he lost to someone like Chela. :)

Congrats to Matyaz as well :D

Those last 2 sets were just so long. Chela has some serious slogging skills, for sure.

The women should love Chela, he never finishes things quickly. Chubby Chela the 5th set guru now, hehe.

How come no one is going on about Chela's age and yet that's all everyone ever talks about when it comes to Rogi

Falla was the better player, but felt too much that 4 set lost, and the doubtful call, of an ace of Chela. Congrats to the argentina veteran, for making again a QF of a GS! Of course he will be crushed, either by Murray or Viktor.

And? Nalbandian injured and Delpo rising back up rankings after being injured, sorry for nothing, go midget.

That's an indicator of the sad state of Argentinian tnnis, but Delpo will pass him soon enough.

Falla, ffs. How many chances are you going to get at a slam qf? And with a crocked Murray, maybe even a sf? Playing a 31yr old who'd had 9 sets his last two matches also....

Anyway, not funny anymore. Now I just want the dirty ***** Chela to get thrashed by someone.

What a 5-set legend this Chela :)

He had lost his first 8 five-setters and in the 9th 5-set match in career he was 5:6* down in the 5th against ben.Becker at Wimbeldon (2007). Since then has improved from 0-8 to 7-8 :hatoff:

On topic, congrats to Chela, couldn't see it from work, but seems it was an epic :D

Chela was playing like Djokovic facing break points and deuce at the end of the 4th set. Shame for Falla, especially losing to a rat like this guy.

In Falla's defense, it was his 7th match of the tournament...

second straight slam where a qualifier made it to R4. Wonder if Wimbledon will treat us to another?

Tomic will deliver, just for MTF.

Shame. Looks very similar to the Wimbledon scoreline against Federer.

Falla points away from defeating the GOAT at Wimby and reaching QF at RG. No doubt the two highlights of his career.

Never in doubt.

My bet on Chela to make SF @29 one match away.

This could be seen with the eyes of a donkey. He was big fave on every match he played so far. Toughest match according to odds was against Anderson only 1.45

This is what you call a sick easy draw

When I saw the draw after the first round I thought he would advance to his first GS quarterfinal. A winner of Anderson-Chela match was virtually a quarter-finalist.

If the seeds had pulled through, this would have been a horrible bet. Infact, I am pretty sure you would have been on the short side if he would have faced either Melzer or Almagro.

On the other hand, if Troicki knocks out Murray, it is probably bet of the year.

Just to make MTFers cry, think for a moment about Troicki's shot at SF.
It depends on Andy's ankle. He hasn't withdrawn, so I am guessing Andy is fine. Troicki will have to play very well to beat him. If Andy wins, I highly doubt Chela will get to semi-final, so Andy will have an easy semi-final. It all depends on the ankle. I wouldn't mind either Andy or Viktor being in the semi-final. It would be great for both players, more so Viktor.

Juan Ignacio, yeeeeesss! :woohoo: :sobbing: *cries*

What a nervous and rollercoaster match. Fourth set was crucial.
Feature shot of the match was Falla backhand return, he hit amazing amount of return winners on JIC serve. JIC serve was under pressure all the time, it takes a lot of mental toughness to take such a pounding over a long match like this.
JIC obviously tanked the 3rd set  Saved energy for the fourth and it payed off.

Fantastic stuff and kudos to the qualifier Alejandro as well.

Chela in a QF. Never thought he would get this far once more, but the draw has been a joke too.

I like Falla, but how did Poto lose so badly to him? :smash:
