Disappointing to see Brown here and not in Halle. I thought he would be a WC candidate there.

06-03-2011, 02:37 PM

He plays Halle

06-03-2011, 10:12 PM
Didn't know they could do this.
Maybe whoever offered him the WC doesn't know he is already on the entry list for this challenger.

06-03-2011, 10:18 PM
lol he's not allowed to pick ATP WC if he's on the Challenger list

Half of the guys on the list I don't think can play on grass, or are simply not in good form or consistent. They are playing here for practice before Wimbledon qualifying. Should be a great opportunity for Sela, Muller, Darcis, ERV and other real grass players. Maybe Karol can have a good week here, for the first time in ages.

Rudy Coco (FRA) :spit:

Well unless he goes to Germany, I think he'll get a WC here. It'd actually make some sense, too - he's likely to win Nottingham-1.

Main draw is out:

Filo V.
06-05-2011, 03:16 PM
Draw sucks as usual for me. Gilles v Steve, then Karol R2. I have to root for Steve over Gilles since Gilles won this week. The only positive is that Simone has a pretty good draw and he's away from other favorites, an SF is definitely possible if he plays well. Dudi has an OK but dangerous draw.

I just hope two of my favorites play the final. GL to all of them.

06-05-2011, 04:42 PM
harsh draw for gilles but..even if he loses round 1 its okay since he did finally get another title this week

nielsen 6-1, 7-6(7-2) over rudy coco(where in the hell did this guy even come from? ive seriouslyh never seen him anywhere before)

Good grass court players coming through qualies.

Best of luck to Jérémy, Doud and Flavio. The Frenchmen should win; Flavio probably won't. But pairing with David Martin in doubles is a good choice

06-06-2011, 02:43 PM
Very nice win today for Karol. That's the type of tennis he should be playing consistently, especially on grass.

Expected wins for Chardy, Van Der Merwe and ERV.

Filo V.
06-06-2011, 02:44 PM
Dominant serve statistics from Chardy. He's obviously very dangerous if he keeps that up.

06-06-2011, 05:48 PM
Ludovic Walter LL, Darcis OUT??

Filo V.

06-07-2011, 03:24 PM
Flavio 1-6 4-3*

06-07-2011, 03:27 PM
simone having a much harder time in the 2nd set

there was one point where it said he was broken for 4-2 but i guess it was over ruled, they replayed the point and he held for 3-3

06-07-2011, 03:36 PM
Flavio is serving poorly and is not cashing in on his break points.

06-07-2011, 04:08 PM
simone bolelli won 6-1, 7-6(7-2)

06-07-2011, 05:52 PM
If Sela or Muller won't play qualies in Eastbourne or Herten one of them gonna take the tittle here.

06-07-2011, 05:53 PM
gilles takes the first set 7-6(7-3)

06-07-2011, 07:21 PM
Muller 7-6(3) 6-4

Filo V.
06-07-2011, 07:31 PM
All in all, very expected scorelines through R1 so far.

Filo V.
06-07-2011, 07:35 PM
A lot of good matchups in R2 coming up. K. Beck v Muller, A. Beck v Sela, Bolelli v ERV, and Nielsen v De Voest all are intriguing to me. Chardy v Farah is interesting too, all of them are really. Hopefully all of my favorites can win.

I think Marco has the best draw, I expect no less than a SF at least.

Simone you had two break points to get it back on serve. Don't fuck this up. Time to come back here.

Good win for Jeremy. Excellent serving stats from him.

Fuck you Simone FAILnelli. How many chances did you need to actually take one? Geez Louise. So disappointed in you. Fuck off.
You are so nice to him and to Ruben :awww:

As for Muller, whatever bothered him (hopefully just precautious retirement) a few days off should serve him right and maybe he won't lose to Carsten Ball or Jaroslav Pospisil in the Wimbledon Q again.

Filo V.
06-08-2011, 07:40 PM
I don't expect or condone failure from the players I support. Simone should have at least broken ERV in the third set. He totally did not take advantage of all of the situations he had. It's a recurring theme and it's tiring to see a talented guy like him fail when it matters constantly.

Cheeky Chick
06-08-2011, 07:42 PM
Muller retired

06-08-2011, 08:14 PM
we know that

this F***ing sucks

this day is leterally probably one of the worst days ever for me as a fan

gilles lost and is injured again, i really hope he can still play wimbledon qualies
simone lost..i dont like him but i dont like ERV either so i was hoping he'd take him out
marsel lost yet another heartbreaker
adrian nearly blew it big time against simon
..and more that i wont list

only good result for me was sabine lisicki

06-08-2011, 11:33 PM
Bolelli losing to Doud isn't that weird  Edouard is a really nifty player on grass; the way he slices, plays drop shots and attacks the net can really surprise some players.

Filo V.
06-09-2011, 12:00 AM
Oh no, Doud was the favorite and will always be on grass, but I'm upset because it's Simone losing

I expected Simone to lose, but the way he lost is frustrating. But I like ERV so I'm not as upset as I would be.

In an interview Muller said that today he'll know exactly what injury he has but it doesnt look like he cant play wimbledon qualies. So it shouldnt be THAT bad

ok, then ill see him in wimbledon qualies :) nice

06-09-2011, 11:22 AM
Yeah I'd rate Doud over Bolelli on grass.
Anyway there's still a few days till the Wimbledon Q, hopefully the ret. was precautious... and hopefully Gilles will get an easy R1.

As for Notts, no rain so far

Tomic 6-3 6-7(6) didn't convert a mp but on Ito's serve

06-09-2011, 12:10 PM
6-5 Tomic.. hope he can finish it for new 1/4

23 aces :worship:

06-09-2011, 12:15 PM
Yes!!! Another great result for Bernard, back in Top 170

6-3 6-7 7-5

06-09-2011, 12:30 PM
Hopefully Freddie can turn the match around after the poor start.

06-09-2011, 12:47 PM
Inexcusable scoreline for Nielsen at the moment against De Voest.

2-6 1-2*

06-09-2011, 12:56 PM
:o Nielsen. His second serve stats don't look too great.

06-09-2011, 01:04 PM
He got one break back, but is still down 2-6 *2-4.

Marc, oh my gosh, how could you

I'm really surprised by that result. I didn't think Marc could ever lose to Van Der Merwe on any surface.

I'll be back if Karol and Dudi make the finals here. The rest of my favorites have headed out the door.

06-09-2011, 02:48 PM
I genuinely thought Nielsen would win it  I know De Voest used to be good on grass but so should be Nielsen

06-09-2011, 03:17 PM
Marc, oh my gosh, how could you

I'm really surprised by that result. I didn't think Marc could ever lose to Van Der Merwe on any surface.

If Izak is in great form, he should be considered the favourite against Gicquel on grass  He has got a very big serve and good volleys  Plus Gicquel is considerably more vulnerable on his service games.

Shocking results by Gicquel and Nielsen.

Cerretani/Marx won from 5-9. :yeah:

I disagree about Marc, I think he's better than Van Der Merwe on grass because he has the returning skills to put the South African in bad positions. I also think Marc has a very good serve himself, and Van Der Merwe isn't that good a returner. But Izak is a good server and has decent volleys so he does deserve some credit.

I'm still disappointed, though. That's the type of match I think he should have taken.

06-10-2011, 10:23 AM
Raining in Nottingham?

06-10-2011, 10:52 AM
nope they are playing

Chardy 6-2

Dudi just broke back *2-3

06-10-2011, 11:12 AM
For everyone who wonders how's Muller doing with his injury......he said now that he has a minor hip injury and he should be alright to practice this weekend and play next week the qualies.

06-10-2011, 11:14 AM
LTA claimed it was a back's injury :tape: But on the other hand, LTA also claimed Bemelmans was French.

06-10-2011, 11:18 AM
lol. oh well. im happy its no back injury.

Ew, disgusting Karol. Couldn't even make it competitive at all. But not surprising.

Now I can only hope Dudi and Jeremy make the finals, and Dudi wins. Unfortunately all the players I really wanted to go deep failed.

Doud :cuckoo: Managed to beat Tomic on grass before.

Tomic will have to play another 3 setter if he is to progress to the final here.

06-11-2011, 11:02 AM
Well he already got broken in the opening game of the 2nd set.

Hewitt =Legend
06-11-2011, 11:11 AM
Yeah gonna be a tough task now... Dudi has been in excellent form, won something like his last 11 matches.. winning builds confidence no matter what the level. Also part of the reason why Bernie should play qualies...

06-11-2011, 11:21 AM
I'm angry about Chardy, he is a better player than VdM, looks like he fought, he had his chances, but cannot really win get ahead...

Bernie was up a break in the 1st by the way, now 1-3 down in the 2nd

Hewitt =Legend
06-11-2011, 11:41 AM
Sela serving for the match now..

06-11-2011, 11:49 AM
Lots of chances for Bernard in 2nd set but he must be pleased with this two weeks.. Top 160

If Dudi wins this one he will be on 12 Challengers titles and at the age of just 26 there's real chance he can attack Suzuki's 16

Sela 7-5 6-4 and keeps his winning streak alive.

Chardy, he needs to learn the basics of the game then he could be alright. Has the shots and the talent but if you have no courtcraft, work ethic or understanding of the game then it means little.

06-11-2011, 01:33 PM
So it's #1 vs. #2 like we thought ;) very long match from Chardy 6-7 7-6 7-6

Filo V.
06-11-2011, 02:31 PM
Very nice final coming up. I think Dudi should take it given the fact Jeremy played such a long match, and the fact Dudi's tricky game I think will get under Jeremy's skin. With that said, Jeremy can overpower Dudi so if he is playing on all cylinders then I think he'll take it. It all comes down to the Frenchman IMO.

06-11-2011, 03:42 PM
Good job Jérémy.

Also very encouraging week for Izak. He should be able to qualify for Wimbledon again.

06-11-2011, 03:45 PM
Jérémy *phew* The title would be awesome.

06-11-2011, 03:55 PM
take the title, Dudi :)

06-11-2011, 04:03 PM
it'll start now, Jeremy to serve

06-11-2011, 06:04 PM
Dudi has done it! He defeats Chardy 6:4 3:6 7:5 to win his 15th straight match!

06-11-2011, 06:09 PM
dudi should be safely inside the top 100 now, think he'll start playing ATP again now?

06-11-2011, 06:27 PM

He gonna play after Wimbledon in Newport

06-11-2011, 06:40 PM
expected ;)

in Newport he has chances too, a good grass player, and Newport doesn't have these top players anyway

06-11-2011, 07:41 PM
Dudi :inlove:

06-12-2011, 10:04 AM
Jérémy :sobbing: But good week.
