surpris : Del Potro didn't use his protected ranking, he's only 8th alternate !

Ferrero used it.

I hope Djokovic comes back the same player in Rome! Federer,s Desperately trying to claw back his number 2 ranking by entering more tournement,s. He will be back at world number 2 before the French Start,s. I now the best of 18 rule stops players climbing up the ranking,s by entering more tournement,s. However with more and more tournrement,s entered Federer run,s a risk. He,s 29 now. by the end of the year he will of slowed down a tad. He is on a decline. it is slow. but he is definetly on one.

Are there fast or slow courts?

04-28-2011, 12:29 PM
Will Robredo pull out ? He seems to be injured and not able to play before RG

04-29-2011, 07:06 PM
Will he be given MDWC?

05-02-2011, 01:13 AM
Good luck David Nalbandian, Juan Chela and Juan Monaco :bounce:

05-03-2011, 12:48 PM
Nalbandian will tell thursday if he plays or not

Will he be given MDWC?

it would be strange, seeing as rome historically gives MDWC to italian players only.
only atp in italy, can't blame them...

When are the Wild Cards announced? Would be a shame for Del Potro to miss this, but I think Rome would go for Starace, Seppi, Fognini and Volandri. Seppi has been injured though, so if he is still not ready then possible to be Del Potro or perhaps probably Bolelli.

If Del Potro asks, he's gonna get one. 100% sure about it.

I don't envision there being many withdrawals, so the WCs will probably be Poto, Pippo, Del Potro (if he asks). And one of Fabio, Simone or Andreas. If Del Potro doesn't ask, it will be Poto, Pippo, Fabio and one of Andreas/Simone.

Tipsy is OUT. Wild cards for Bolelli, Fognini, Starace and Volandri apparently. Seppi presumably not fit enough yet.

wc for starace, fognini, volandri and bolelli... del potro refused the wc... it's official...

Delpo is injured, he doesn't want to take any risks before RG. He needs some rest before GS

Robredo just confirmed on Twitter that he won't be playing Rome.

Nice to see those 4 Italians involved. Hopefully a couple get reasonable draws and go to 3rd round. A shame Seppi will not be there, but after his injury I fear his WC would have been a waste anyway and a 1st round exit.

Reading Tennisteen it seems they gave the WC to Bolelli instead of Seppi because of some arguement the Italian Federation had with Seppi last year to do with the Davis Cup. It even states that its likely Cipolla would receive a WC should Starace get automatic entry to MD.

05-05-2011, 03:53 PM
If somehow Delpo (who is 4 out) gets in MD, will he play?

Ferrero withdrew :bigcry:

IN: Seppi

05-06-2011, 11:25 AM
Starace and Seppi in, does that mean Flavio has a WC?

Cipolla would get a WC before Seppi anyway
he got it the moment Starace entered

So it means there are now 6 Italians in the Main Draw :) (Starace, Fognini, Seppi, Volandri, Bolelli and Cipolla) with 6 more in the qualies so hopefully at least 1 can make it.

Why'd Ferrero withdraw?
