The fact that Granollers won is not so shocking, the bagel is though.

Amazing. Granollers worst enemy is himself but I think that Fernando Vicente`s pace helped him to beat his nerves. Wawra :smash:

Apparently for Stan, Granollers is a huge server.

83% points won on first serve for him, on the slowest hard court surface on tour.

That's more than Karlovic managed.

Yay, I'm very happy. I find hardly the words...
Fourth win for Marcel in this year and Marcel didn't defeat top 20 player since AO last year...
Great win Marcel, I think this give him more confidence...
I hope I will watch his match against Llodra... ;)

Fran, his new coach is Oscar Serrano. :)

Great serving by Marcel! 70% first serve percentage, winning over 80% of first serve points. Great combination. That *4-2 game where Marcel saved break points was crucial. I am so happy for him.

Stan, a major let off from IW and the season in general. After winning the second set tiebreak you would have thought he would win, but today wasn't his day. Gives him more time to get ready for Euro clay, where he should excel.

These results are telling us something; these late hard court tournaments are redundant.

One 1000 event to end the hard court season is enough, the clay season should have started by now ;)

I think it was easy to notice that the bottom half of the draw had far more interesting matches in store today.

But, no, they'll let us see the top half of the draw tomorrow, which all look like snoozers.

It doesn't matter how many months there is inbetween the AO and these tournaments. They don't lead anywhere. The main event is over. Just bring on the clay season instead of these malplaced, drawn out, sleeping pills

WTF is with this tournament  I thought it's only the usual Becker being a mug thing losing to Granollers, but now Wawrinka, and being bageled?
