Future of tennis is now! Really?

Dimitrov, Berankis, Harrison, Mannarino,Sock ... all lost. And then somebody say Cilic is a loser or Fedex should retire!? Michael Chang times are long time gone, somebody please activate more Shuettler friends from senior tour.:)

I consider some of them really talented. I don't know the answer, as I guess nobody really knows. Most probably these "youngsters" lack mental strength, which is crucial in this sport. Harrison showed huge mental in IW, I don't even have any idea how he managed to lose to Schuettler last night. Same for Dimitrov. Seems like the upcoming generation matures very late.

Maybe Dimitrov too

Harrison, Raonic, Del Potro will all be in top5.

1/3 of that has already happened. The youngsters have been good lately, let's not forget that just because of one bad tournament.

Raonic is the most overrated player since Gulbis. 2-m tall is the only reason he is better than the rest. At 28, he will be almost retired.

for next years the future of tennis is still Nadal, Djokovic, Murray and Del Potro, maybe Gulbis, Cilic, Dolgopolov or Nishikori can join but anyway Tomic, Harrison and others are probably for a little bit later.

By the way, I've seen many people involving Dolgopolov with 90+ generations (Berankis, Raonic, Dimitrov, etc) but the nearest to them is Nishikori, born in december 1989, who is one year younger than Dolgopolov and is currently number 34 in the Race.

Nonsense, AJ. MTF is just hitting it's absolute peak of clownishness.

I guess what these kids need is more experience and matches on the big stage. It's one thing to excel on the Challenger Tour, it's another to be able to face down someone with a lot more experience on the other side of the net.

actually these players didn't have much success on the challenger tour : Raonic for instance I can't remember him winning one challenger title.

Berankis imo also won very few.

Tomic only in Australia ...

I often thought that talented young guns did reveal in big tournaments : it's often what happened with McEnroe, Cash, Borg, etc.

And that's what we had this year with Raonic.

The challenger tour is quite tough : I mean succeeding on the challenger tour implies winning many matches in a row ... often against experienced players.

Making a few good wins in a big tournament may be a more proper task for a young gun.

That's why personally I disagree with people who say that wild-cards are always young guns' enemies.

There has to be a mix of challengers and big tournaments, and to be careful how it goes if one constantly loses in big tournaments no need to insist, but wild-cards may have their interest for a talented young gun to emerge.

but will they be victims of circumstances, that is the question.

Really can't see Dimitrov talent anywhere. He just seems to be lazy. Same with Berankis, he is very frivolous. Nadal and Djokovic will stay on the top spot for a long time. Raonic is serve player, can't be #1 with bad 2nd serve. Juan Martin Del Potro is the only who can be in top 5 from youngstars.

Couldn't agree more. But everyone is allowed to tell his opinion, it's how Internet works. You won't stop it , just go with the flow.

Many of the current young guns are overhyped clowns, yes. But it's still too early to tell if they'll achieve something of note in the future or not, things can change very quickly in sports.

del potro too

he probably has only a couple of years left

the big guys age the worst because of that increased mass and stress

safin was a great mover for a big man and look what happened to him when the legs went. del potro is not a long term prospect

well, he is the only one above mug level. But he is very average.
No, he isn't.

1. His serve is HUGE.
2. His forehand is also very big.
3. His volley skills are very good.
4. His backhand is solid but makes some errors at times.
5. His movement is okay, could be better.
6. His speed is okay, he's not that fast.
7. His mentality is amazing, he is very composed.

He is not in any way mediocre...
