IW QF: Federer orders Wawrinka: "Kneel before me !" 6-3 6-4

"Perhaps Wawrinka is saving his best for the doubles " - Robbie Koenig today, brillinat commentary. Fed owns wawa in every possible way, no words can describe how poorly does Wawrinka play, its disgraceful, pathetic, loser like attitude when facing his daddy Fed. But tomorrow Djoko should show Fed a lesson if not him than Nadal will for sure in the finals.

Nadal and Djokovic don't have the matches on their racket, their opponents do and most of them cock it up and play horribly, including Federer and Murray actually.

Sounds like you are learning to parrot the worst of the Fedbot mantra even if it indicts your fave even more.

You do realize that Nadal and Djokovic have quite a few more matches on their rackets than does Murray and your comment is especially funny coming as it does after both the AO where Novak destroyed Murray and this very tournament where you find yourself congratulating Murray for winning 9 games from a "very good Donald Young"

Now back to the match:

Wawrinka isn't good enough to beat Fed most of the time in theory but he should be more than good enough to play him closely, at least as closely as say an 18 year old American boy like Ryan Harrison.

Hell, Wawrinka is good enough to pummel Murray for that matter as you should know Word Life.

More often than not, it isn't just that Stan loses, it is HOW he loses against Roger in particular. Even the backhand; he was missing by a LOT, hitting them way out or straight to the net.

Even worse when you consider that Tarzan yell of his is totally absent and his body language is awful.

I had never reported any post before yesterday, but I've reported a few lately always for the same reason :
that sado-masochistic insulting bullshit

I also gave as many bad-reps as I could for all the people who went in the same bullshit.

I usually give many good-reps for people who give good infos but I'm enough with that bullshit !

I had prepared a comment about that match but is it useful to comment for such stupid guys ?

1. Wawrinka took too many risks, as often against Fed he thinks it's necessary and goes too much for it.
Also he probably doesn't believe enough at one moment : he believed more previously but I think the AO defeat hurt a lot (as it has probably hurt Fed against Djokovic)

2. as in many match-ups the serve-return is crucial : Wawrinka doesn't read well Fed's serve, it's the opposite for Fed.

3. Excalibur called Fed "Swisse Karlovic" in a match where it was utterly unappropriate against Andreev (Fed served 40% in second set, only 4 aces in all match, and won 54% of points on Andreev's serve) but in that match, yes it looked quite appropriate.

How many games will Fed win against Nole ?

I don't know but I'm happy he's in the semifinals : it's been a good effort from the old man to reach the semis, Djokovic and in a lesser extent Nadal are on another planet now but I'm just happy Fed is there :)

For all the people to whom I gave bad-reps : in my eyes you've deserved it a lot

I really don't understand why he should be fined; he hit as many winners as Federer did today and served a higher 1st serve percentage with fewer double faults.

Also regarding his comments on twitter, I think that's the best frame of mind for him to be in right now. Why beat yourself up over a match he was expected to lose in straight sets anyway, especially when you have another match coming up in an hour and a half?

That was a lot easier than I expected it to be for Fed today, and I think it's fair to say that that had a lot more to do with Stan than with Roger. However you may twist and turn it, Stan just couldn't bring the goods today, his level of play was certainly below that what he's shown earlier this week, the key being what usually is the big burden for Roger: too many UEs. That... happens at times.

Rog's level of playing on the other hand was mediocre, at its best moments 'decent'. Certainly not good enough to get past Djoko tomorrow, so he'll have to step it up. Somehow I doubt that he'll be able to do so, but perhaps there's a positive surprise in the works.

again, spot on like your take on the ivo/nadal match... and like their last encounter, stan really does look too edgy out there... not loose, not letting any rhythm come to him... as a result, he's tight on bp's (df + a bounce smash that a junior would be scolded for not doing more with)

dont have any doubt he wants to win... no one wants to be Duck Vers2.0... but he should just chill and trust that the form that's carried him to the quarters will be enough... and i think there's an even money chance it would be enough vs the OAP

Stan had a more competitive score and didn't cuddle with Fed afterwards ;)

Because Fed is not the cuddling type. ;)

quite frankly, i think wawrinka should be fined for this performance. He didn't put in any effort or showed any notion that he wanted to be on the court. Definition of a textbook tank.

Summary of the match - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Boring match as always when Fedull plays a fellow swiss worshipper. Hope Wawrinka got Fed's autograph. And Fedtards complain about Nadal playing spaniards haha Ferrer, Feli and GGL beat Nadal in the last 8 months.

Funny that Fedtards used to say same about Ferrer.

JCF? Verdasco? Almagro? I won a v$50K bet for that match btw because I was sure Almagro would be very close to win.

Stan's body language out there in the singles said it all. From word go he had no belief he would win it and didn't even try. His performance was a disgrace and Federer looked like he'd known all along he would win. Should have been a walk-over with Stan's medical reason for absence being inflammation of the cerebral cortex.

We'll have Stan switch his allegiance and start playing for either Belgium or France. French is his working language, by the time he represents a different nation, his Federerphilia will disappear.

Wrong. Alter ego is damn right. Wawrinka is the only Fed's bitch and even though he managed to record a victory against Fed, but morons are complaining about Roger's easy draws.

This guy is 30 years old fuckers, unlike Nadull who is having their pshysical prime and still getting a joke of a draw. THAT IS PATHETIC.

Lol at the pussies Fedtards complaining about the Armada & Nadal. 3 of this last 6 defeats where against his country mans. And the Almagro match was the toughest one in the last Roland Garros edition. Of course, he always wins against Verdasco, but the same thing ocurr with the rest of top 5. How many times have won Almagro, Ferrer, Lopez or Verdasco to Federer? Zero.

Besides Almugro in RG2010 though he beats Spaniards on clay a lot worse than other players, they bend over a lot easier, even freaking Gulbis took him the distance in Rome whereas the Spaniards woulda lost 2 and 1 or got bagelled.

Bend over Job? :cuckoo: Since when is a tight 6-3 6-4 straight sets victory a bend over job?. What i saw was a good clean competitive match. Federer was the better player and was more consistent on the bigger points thats why he one. Wawrinka pulled out some fantastic artistry here and there and really took the game to Roger, forcing Fed to dig deep and pull through. Some VERY neat exchanges between the two Swiss and it made for very pleasant viewing. Nice little match here and gave Roger a nice workout before his showdown with Novak. You could Stan wanted this but against Roger thats not enough.

Everything Stan does, Roger just does it better and i firmly believe that frustrates Wawa. If Wawrinka wants to serve big and play as the aggressor he cant because Roger will counter it with better placed and controlled shots. Federer is the better server and shot maker in every department therefore it makes life very difficult for Stan when his opponent is light years ahead. The difference here between Nadal and his bitch boys are that Fed is clearly the superior player so therefore eh should best Wawa however in Nadals case, Nando/Nico and Lopez are more talented than rafa and should have better records against him.

It was a tight match with only a few games in it and Stan just couldn't control the flow of the game due to Rogers authorized play. When Roger is dictating he is unbeatable and that was the case today. Gutsy win and Roger looks close to regaining the number one position playing his worst tennis since 2003, which shows how weak the todays current field is. Always nice to see Federer and Wawrinka play as the flair/skill and variety is ALWAYS on show. After that imposing AO and now a quarter here Stan is ready for a run in the top 10 possible kicking out a weaker player with clear limitations that are being exposed such as David Ferrer

Almagro was controlling the match and he had it his hands but he let go of it. He should have won a set at the minimum.

No shame in losing a set to Gulbis there. A motivated and fired up Gulbis is a top 20 player pity that sublime run only lasted a month or so.

It was never a close match, Federer did what he wanted and Stan just went along with it form the first point to the last. Stan had some nice shots, sure, but he never did anything to disrupt Federerīs rhythm, he played just the way Federer wanted, and in doing so he never threatened Federerīs win. It looked like he didnīt have a gameplan at all, or if he did, he forgot it as soon as he stepped on court. Despite the relatively close numbers, the result was never in doubt.

Oh was it just. No Fed did what he wanted because he played a good match. Stan tried to throw Roger off his rhythm/mix things up and put Roger under pressure but Roger was moving better better than usual and hitting deep which forced Wawrinka to be on the defense more than usual. It looked relatively close in numbers because it was tight affair with Roger doing what he needed to on the big points. A solid return game from Stan and we could have seen a 3rd set with Stan brimming with confidence. You see Roger sucked the confidence dry from Stans carcass with his conviction and he was more deadly and on point than he has been all year.

Give credit where it's due because it's damn well due here. Roger just beat one of the best players of the year in a tight match full of free flowing tennis and i think all you haters need to get the fuck over it.

Youīre right, all credit to Roger, he did play a good match. He hit the ball hard and deep, no question about that. Thatīs exactly why it was so bizarre that Wavrinka went along with that pace, trying to outhit Federer, because it was obvious from the start that he canīt keep up with Federerīs shots. He was always going to be the one to commit the error, because Roger was hitting so well. Thatīs exactly why he should have tried to do something totally different, just to break the rhythm, but he just banged his head against the wall.

As for the numbers, it was close because Federer got the early brekas in both sets, and then just did what he needed. Itīs useless to speculate with the 3rd set, because we never saw a good return game from Stan. After wasting those 2 bpīs in the 1st game, he already looked beaten.
