Indian Wells Scheduling

I was quite surprised when I looked at the OOP of today and only saw the two upper QFs on there.
Why the hell did they put all 4th rounds together yesterday, and split it apart again today?

I thought they did it yesterday to even things out and gives both finalists equal rest. But apparently not...

I think it was more about the fact that the three top seeds are playing both singles and doubles ;)

So? Therefore they're adapting their whole schedule? Those guys can play two matches a day.

I'm aware that my bias might be showing, but given that Robredo only seemed to have one working leg yesterday, making him play again today seems a little...callous. If it's about the doubles, why couldn't they have the two QF match-ups that still have doubles involvement today and the other two tomorrow?

If Fed wants to win both events, he will have to play 6 matches in 4 days. Did something like that ever happen?

It isn't about the doubles, guys. The schedule was exactly like this when they announced it months ago. They always do this.

I'll need to check, but I'm sure McEnroe must have at some point.

it was planned like that before the tournament in the "tournament schedule", no adaptation or anything.

My only problem is that I can't see Nadal matches because he plays too late always.

And would be great If Tommy would can relax after his injury.

Robredo is in the top half and his half of the draw already have a day off on Tuesday. The bottom half played for 2 consecutive days, Tuesday and Wednesday, that's why they will have today's off.

idiotic scheduling, nothing new with this tournament

Another problem with these 96-man draws, they have not much to show by the end of the week. Today was atrocious, Vika broke something (as usual) and Robredo was sure not to play after yesterday. Crowd will find the time very long. Wait for Karlovic forfeits and one of the double retirement.

Ah, I see, that makes sense. Thank you. :)

Key Biscayne has virtually the same schedule. What's odd is that here there is no singles final on Saturday and both on Sunday whereas in Miami its women's final on Saturday and men's final on Sunday - which I think makes more sense

You always play your singles match before the doubles one.

Silvester

so then why not play the singles match at 11am?

Roger and Stan should have the singles day match...how hard is that? Is it just about tv ratings?

Exactly!!

so then why not play the singles match at 11am?

Because Roger played his doubles late in the afternoon today? And his doubles match was scheduled late today because his singles match was very late the day before :p

I don't think I've ever seen a schedule that ridiculous...doubles teammates play each other and then 3 hours from the start of that (unless the singles goes long), they play doubles with each other. Wow

With the number of singles players playing doubles and going deep, that is bound to happen.

Isn't the late day match one of the prime time matches (along with night matches)? When's the last time Fed (or Nadal for that matter) played an 11 am singles match?

people complain and complain and they don't even know what Fed and Stan did want themselves : maybe they just preferred it like that : they can wake up less early

Key Biscayne has virtually the same schedule. What's odd is that here there is no singles final on Saturday and both on Sunday whereas in Miami its women's final on Saturday and men's final on Sunday - which I think makes more sense

They've discovered in the past several years that they can't fill the stadium for a womens final on saturday - not even close, so last year I think it was, they moved to both finals on sunday.
