This is going to be a great match. :worship: I like both of these players, but I think I support Richard Gasquet's quest to return to the top 10.

Both excellent players, regardless of who wins = Tennis wins :worship: Too close to call.

No idea...haven't watched either of these guys matches. I'll take a random stab. Roddick will probably prevail. He'll either attempt to out serve him or use the home crowd to get to Richard's head.

Head says Roddick, pet lion says Gasquet.

Duck, naturally. Gasquet won't be able to handle his serve and has no big forehand to punish him off the ground. This is one of those matches where Duck will be easily able to serve and push his way to a straight set win.

^^ As if you need a big FH to punish Duck off the ground  Or does Ljubo have a big forehand?

Gasquet has legitimate chances to win this. He's a former top 10, and off the rallies I would say Gasquet's return game is superior and has more power. Roddick has the serve of course.

But I'll be happy with either one winning, hopefully they will trouble the top seeds in the QF.

I love Gasquet and my heart says him but he is a total head case and that head of his will never allow him to live up to his potential - Roddick in 2 easy sets I'm afraid.

Roddick in 2 sets,

but Gasquet will take one's revenge on Roddick very soon on clay

I have almost no doubt Roddick will win this.

He will push Gasquet patience till he cracks.

Remember, the reason Gasquet became a top 10 player was with a win over Roddick. Of course, a lot has happened since then...a lot.

well, the only chance for Richard is 1) return as much as possible and as long as possible 2)block Roddick on the backhand diagonal.

If Gasquet plays well, I think he will take it, but don't think he will play well.
Roddick isn't playing well lately, so everything is possible.

hope Richard could win this, but I think it is impossible

If Richard plays like he did yesterday, he can well win. A lot will depend on the strength of his own serve and his confidence to go for his shots.

I doubt Seb Grosjean can tell him how to beat Roddick

I'd love Gasquet to go through and pluck that duck, but most probably it will be the other way around.

Better ranked player will prevail. Fierce battle in first set, bagel in second.

whenever its possible to thrash Gasquet, you're never far away. Just a question, where are all the other french? including fat dumbass Tsonga?

Tsonga tanked this meaningless MM event. He is all about slams these days.

It depends 100% on Gasquet if you ask me. If he's in his competitive mood, it could be a close match and he might even be able to win it. If not, of course, it's going to be 6/2 6/3 for Roddick.

Still a great match-up. Gasquet has the better backhand, Roddick the better serve. Both are not gifted with the greatest forehands of the game. I'm looking forward to it.

On a serious note, I think Roddick will win, he's just much more consistent.

Expect Roddick to win and would be good for draw.

Gasquet would be a walkover for Djokovic.

Note: Please, if you are able to beforehand, tell us if the Umpire is Fergus Murphy.

I assure that little piece of information will totally sway in the favor of Roddick's opponent. Instant 95% chance of winning.
