I'm interested in the results, you could call this 'research' especially if tennis doesn't win.

I have a feeling this will be a real thumping of tennis vs. everything else. :p

My list is a bit like this:

1. Tennis
2. Formula 1/Motorsports in general
3. Football
4. Snooker (- sometimes I'm reluctant to call it a sport though.)
5. Athletics
6. Boxing
7. Winter sports

Favorite sport to practice top 3:

Tennis. My one regret in life was that I didn't join the tennis club when I was a kid. ;) I love stepping out on that court.
I have played for a soccer team almost all my life though, at a decently high level too. That comes second.
Third... probably squash?

Favorite TV-sport top 3:

Tennis. Excellent entertainment it is. All year round.
Soccer. (In fact not even tennis can compare to the World Cup, sadly it's only held once every 4 years. ;))
Winter sports. (The Winter Olympics especially :inlove:)

used to watch football in the past but not anymore, now the only sport I watch in my free time is tennis and the occasional table tennis when I see it on, I also catch what I can of the big events like the Olympics and World Cup.

It use to be boxing, but the expansion of sanctioning bodies and less and less good match ups have pretty much ruined the sport.

I don't really follow any sports closely anymore, but American football and basketball I still watch occasionally.

Golf and surfing too.

football (watching, playing regularly almost all my life, trained)
tennis (watching, playing on patches, trained)
basketball (watching, playing on patches, trained)
table tennis (playing - a lot recently)
boxing (watching)
freestyle footbag, kicking (playing for a decade, mostly during summer)
waterpolo (watching, played a lot as a kid)
swimming (watching, trained)
usa football (watching, used to play a little, trained in basics)
formula 1 (watching)
darts (playing - a lot, in the kitchen)
watching lots of various olympic stuff, athletics, weight lifting (super interesting), water jumping...

generally like to mess with a ball around the house.

*watching means 'like to watch', not like 'watching all the time'.

Tennis is #1 by a lot. 2nd is football but I only like international and some lower leagues. I don't like the money giants taking all the best players.

I don't like the American based sports.

I am a little interested in cricket

The only sport I follow more or less regularly is tennis.

Football, I only watch the really big events. For example, this month I'll see both R.Madrid-Barcelona matches, but to be frank a month ago I wasn't even aware both teams had a chance to reach the semis.

My truly favourite sport is potato-couch reading, if all must be told.
