What is your favourite Sport?

03-15-2011, 09:02 AM
Go on, answer the question.

03-15-2011, 09:05 AM
Of course tennis. I like also Formula 1 and football. ;) Basketball is interesting too for me.

03-15-2011, 09:08 AM
I'm interested in the results, you could call this 'research' especially if tennis doesn't win.

03-15-2011, 09:08 AM
I have a feeling this will be a real thumping of tennis vs. everything else. :p

My list is a bit like this:

1. Tennis
2. Formula 1/Motorsports in general
3. Football
4. Snooker (- sometimes I'm reluctant to call it a sport though.)
5. Athletics
6. Boxing
7. Winter sports

tennis and volleyball ;) maybe volleyball prevails a litle bit, cause I have more options to watch a high quality volley at live where I live.

03-15-2011, 11:14 AM
Favorite sport to practice top 3:

Tennis. My one regret in life was that I didn't join the tennis club when I was a kid. ;) I love stepping out on that court.
I have played for a soccer team almost all my life though, at a decently high level too. That comes second.
Third... probably squash?

Favorite TV-sport top 3:

Tennis. Excellent entertainment it is. All year round.
Soccer. (In fact not even tennis can compare to the World Cup, sadly it's only held once every 4 years. ;))
Winter sports. (The Winter Olympics especially :inlove:)

03-15-2011, 11:31 AM
used to watch football in the past but not anymore, now the only sport I watch in my free time is tennis and the occasional table tennis when I see it on, I also catch what I can of the big events like the Olympics and World Cup.

03-15-2011, 12:34 PM

03-26-2011, 07:50 AM
Tennis and Mixed Martial arts tied at 1 for me

03-26-2011, 08:36 AM
Tennis ofc. Other sports are boring tbh. Fuck, I can even tune into WTA for some drama if I feel like it.

03-26-2011, 11:22 AM
Basketball, but it's tied with tennis now.

03-26-2011, 01:26 PM

03-26-2011, 04:19 PM
To play: football.
To watch: tennis.

03-26-2011, 04:42 PM
It use to be boxing, but the expansion of sanctioning bodies and less and less good match ups have pretty much ruined the sport.

I don't really follow any sports closely anymore, but American football and basketball I still watch occasionally.

Golf and surfing too.

03-26-2011, 06:45 PM
football (watching, playing regularly almost all my life, trained)
tennis (watching, playing on patches, trained)
basketball (watching, playing on patches, trained)
table tennis (playing - a lot recently)
boxing (watching)
freestyle footbag, kicking (playing for a decade, mostly during summer)
waterpolo (watching, played a lot as a kid)
swimming (watching, trained)
usa football (watching, used to play a little, trained in basics)
formula 1 (watching)
darts (playing - a lot, in the kitchen)
watching lots of various olympic stuff, athletics, weight lifting (super interesting), water jumping...

generally like to mess with a ball around the house.

*watching means 'like to watch', not like 'watching all the time'.

I can't pick one, but my fav sports to play are Tennis, Football (soccer), Hockey and Volleyball.

Favourite sports to watch are Tennis and Hockey.

03-31-2011, 06:07 PM
Volleyball, sex and tennis. In this order.

03-31-2011, 06:38 PM
To watch, definitely tennis. If I'm the one doing it then I enjoy skiing the most.

03-31-2011, 07:27 PM
Tennis is #1 by a lot. 2nd is football but I only like international and some lower leagues. I don't like the money giants taking all the best players.

I don't like the American based sports.

I am a little interested in cricket

03-31-2011, 08:50 PM
Volleyball, sex and tennis. In this order.

Lol, I've never knew we have something in common :rolls:

04-17-2011, 12:15 AM
The only sport I follow more or less regularly is tennis.

Football, I only watch the really big events. For example, this month I'll see both R.Madrid-Barcelona matches, but to be frank a month ago I wasn't even aware both teams had a chance to reach the semis.

My truly favourite sport is potato-couch reading, if all must be told.

04-17-2011, 03:16 AM
I love tennis, but baseball is #1

09-02-2014, 06:00 PM
I assume tennis is most MTFers favourite sport. Some sport may be as important but for most tennis is the clear #1 sport. But has it always been?

For me, F1 was my first real favourite sport, liked watching races since mid-90s and became a huge fan in 1998 because of Häkkinen. I started to get into tennis only just over ten years ago when I had a chance to play tennis and that made me watch occasionally some tennis, more regularly since 2006. Then, about five years ago I started to follow tennis outside slams, internet has made tournaments that aren't on TV available. That coincided with F1's decline so tennis surpassed F1 in my interest. But internet has also made motorsports outside F1 more easily available, so some of my interest in F1 has switched to other forms of motorsports. Right now I'd say I have two favourite sports, tennis and motorsports.

Alpine Skiing is also one of my favourite sports but the season of just over four months is too short to keep the interest over the entire year.

09-02-2014, 06:04 PM
I feel like you make a thread about how you used to like F1 every month.

09-02-2014, 06:07 PM
Tennis is my favourite sport followed by basketball, especially the NBA, World Championships and Olympic Games

I also like footbal when it comes to the World Cup, Champions League or important derbies in the domestic leagues

And I also like very much to follow the World Championship of darts every December just for that unique atmosphere the crazy fans make

Basketball is not a sport.

It's just extremely tall people moving.

No skill in basketball. Just height.

Tennis, rugby (league and union) and then cricket.
Also swimming, but that is only on sporadically.

1. Tennis

2. Cricket
3. F1

4. Field Hockey

11-09-2014, 10:02 AM
#1 is obviously tennis
I liked European football back then in the late '80s very much, then F1 between 1987-1999.
Occasionally I follow swimming events/waterpolo at the Olympic games, football at WC only. Lots of sports have been turned to money oriented, too many ads, just way too alienated from the common people, I feel now.
