So many FH UEs from Verdasco I lost count, but I think there were > 20 (FH UEs alone) :help: :tape:

BH UEs aplenty too :rolls:

Querrey played pretty good, apart from nearly choking serving for it :yeah:

Well... Querrey in his homeland it's more dangerous than Verdasco IMO.

So I understand the scoreline, so many people would say he would easily lose to him...
No.

Fernando is incapable of winning a match when he has an easy draw in front of him. Lucky for him that Rycka was injured or he would've lost his first match.

Fiasco, what a clown of a player.

Dominated the match up to 5-5 in the first set. Then collapsed. Major mug.

It's a master series, not a slam.

Everyone fits the definition of mug through your narrow standards.

Go stick to your old one dimensional tennis :)

I don't have much to say, other than nice to see his slump is continuing:rolleyes: The worst thing is that this loss doesn't exactly come as a surprise. He's just THAT bad lately, losing to Querrey of all people!:banghead:

Man, too bad there's no consolation bracket, Murray v Verdasco could be a good match.

Yeah. That's the worst thing, it doesn't exactly come as a surprise. I could see it coming a mile away. He's just THAT bad lately. He was lucky Berankis got injured or he wouldn't even have reached R3..

One dimensional? Are you joking? You MUST be joking.

Back in the 90s there were actually different game styles.

Nowadays, well... nowadays we do have a unidimensional moonballing tour all year long.

Querrey was sharp. VERY sharp. Some of those forehands were magnificent.

I am not sure what match the rest of the posters were watching, but Sam came out to play. His forehands were deadly. He had great service games up until he had to serve for the match. Then the nerves showed up. Verdasco hung himself in the latter stages of the 1st set and he never came back.

BTW I am not a stan of Querrey, but I appreciate good tennis when I see it. ;)

Querrey gets no respect around here. But he can play. He can stand toe to toe with dasco from the baseline.

You realize he was winning when Berankis retired, right?

Barely. Rycka was serving for it *5-4 when his injury flared up and he didn't win another game from then on. If he hadn't been injured, he probably would've won that first set.

I think only Wawa would be a "stan" of Querrey. ;)
