Not lookin good, had some kind of ilness before this match also.

Second set was a mess from Soderling but well done. :bigclap:

The shot Berrer pulled off early in that second set tie break was unreal, very good effort on his part.

I stopped watching when Robin had BP to go up two breaks. Surprising result.

in Marseilles Söderling was also ill in the beginning of the week, even in bed from his words, but he finally went through and won the tournament

he doesn't like playing Kohlschreiber but Kohli was also bad in his first match

Had/has the fever so was always going to be a struggle, good win though :)

Berrer played great. Soderling will struggle to reach SF again.

Another match with Kohlschreiber :worship: Will it be 7-6 in the third with match points saved again?

Earlier this year in Australia, Soderling beat Berrer 6-3 7-6 as well, but then no breaks of serve in the 2nd set.

Robin in his best form RG 2009. he's a real dangerman here and is doing the number 4 spot proud. I cant stress how happy i am with his new coaches work. Onwards and upwards for Soderling.

Down dubble break in the second, Berrer just started to play relaxed and made some bigtime shots. The match actually got really exciting for a while there. Robin dropping 5*-4 was all on him though even if that running forehand was great from Berrer to clinch it. All in all I think it was a pretty good opening match from Robin. He hit the ball pretty well and didn't spread the balls around too much, although you could see that it was his first match on the surface, completely mistiming the ball a few times. Even though some were so-so approaches from Berrer, Robin was great with the forehand passing shots today, calm and precise. :yeah:

Robin did cough a whole lot out there, but he didn't seem ill. I noticed he didn't unleash his full power though in either serve or groundstrokes, but I'd say that was because of the wind and not his health. He made Berrer look like Nadal a couple of times because of it.

The word escape would fit more If it was Soderling who leveled from a 1-4 deficit.
It was just a effectless mini-choke.

The real no. 4 :yeah:
