WWW Memphis final: Raonic vs Roddick?Orka_n 02-19-2011, 09:57 PM I can't even describe how much I want Milos to take this. :fiery: Head says Roddick, heart says Raonic in 3. :rocker2: navy75 02-19-2011, 10:00 PM I see about 20 more missed calls coming with these two bombing serves in a 500 tournament that doesn't even have hawkeye. duong 02-19-2011, 10:01 PM Both players have some game contrary to what the "vox MTFi" says which sees every tennis player as "awful" but Roddick is currently better : Roddick in 2 HDW 02-19-2011, 10:01 PM Cmon Milos, dont let this mug win. :rocker2: romismak 02-19-2011, 10:02 PM In this match it will be so nice to see what a stupid tournament this is- without Hawk-eye. I would say 3 TB and win Raonic:D but who knows. Still for Milos better oponnent than Del Potro i think, so we will see, but definetely he has a chance- and i hope he will show Andy who has better serve right now:D:D MalwareDie 02-19-2011, 10:06 PM Raonic just keeps exceeding expectations, so I'll go with him. He should be tired, but he doesn't let that get to him. Pirao666 02-19-2011, 10:07 PM Roddick, he's like Raonic++ (sort of). Fedal2010 02-19-2011, 10:10 PM If Roddick doesn´t win this one against a tired Raonic, he has to retire as soon as possible. In that case he should be ashamed of himself Sham Kay 02-19-2011, 10:11 PM Forget the players. I feel for the linespeople. Fedal2010 02-19-2011, 10:12 PM In this match it will be so nice to see what a stupid tournament this is- without Hawk-eye. I would say 3 TB and win Raonic:D but who knows. Still for Milos better oponnent than Del Potro i think, so we will see, but definetely he has a chance- and i hope he will show Andy who has better serve right now:D:D that´s ridiculous. an ATP500 event without Hawk-eye, even Marsaille has one. :wavey: :wavey: Thanos 02-19-2011, 10:19 PM milos will be forced to save tennis the second time this week. i'm hoping milos in two tiebreakers. Shirogane 02-19-2011, 10:20 PM I feel the match will be on Milos' racquet. Another title for the Canadian. Sonja1989 02-19-2011, 10:20 PM Roddick in 3. Fedal2010 02-19-2011, 10:20 PM milos will be forced to save tennis the second time this week. i'm hoping milos in two tiebreakers. I´m going the other way around. Roddick will be forced to save tennis. loopback 02-19-2011, 10:22 PM senor canardo looked very motivated today, unsure what that injury timeout was all about. should get the job done tomorrow if healthy Orka_n 02-19-2011, 10:23 PM I´m going the other way around. Roddick will be forced to save tennis.Roddick? Save tennis? What a complete joke. Duck has one of the most disgusting playing styles out there. ssin 02-19-2011, 10:24 PM I can't even describe how much I want Milos to take this. :fiery: Head says Roddick, heart says Raonic in 3. :rocker2: my exact thoughts ;) Plus, Roddick is the only active ATP player that I can't stand. Otherwise, I either like a player or I'm indifferent. But Roddick's nervous and jerky moves, his pushing and whining, his ridiculous movement on the court and generally mindless game never fail to arouse the worst in me. theKSHE 02-19-2011, 10:31 PM Two or three tie-breaks. tsmile789 02-19-2011, 10:38 PM Andy roddick 2.0 vs Andy roddick 1.0...haha put on ur helmet guys Fedal2010 02-19-2011, 10:42 PM Roddick? Save tennis? What a complete joke. Duck has one of the most disgusting playing styles out there. You rather watch Roddick playing his shitty style for 2 years or Raonic´s serve based crappy game for 10 years? Johnny Groove 02-19-2011, 10:42 PM King Milos ascends to the throne. abraxas21 02-19-2011, 10:45 PM Roddick, he's like Raonic++ (sort of). have you seen raonic play? Topspindoctor 02-19-2011, 10:50 PM Hopefully Duck. So sick of Raonic and his bandwagon. Fedal2010 02-19-2011, 10:59 PM Hopefully Duck. So sick of Raonic and his bandwagon. Oh god, who would have imagined that I would ever agree with you. :worship: Silver. 02-19-2011, 11:25 PM I think, in fact I hope experience will take this one. Nothing against Raonic though, he has had a cracking run! :) Roamed 02-19-2011, 11:29 PM Duck in three. But crossing my fingers for Milos though, I want him to win so badly... Voo de Mar 02-19-2011, 11:31 PM I hope Raonic  Pirao666 02-19-2011, 11:37 PM have you seen raonic play? Yes, a couple of times. I know Raonic has powerful strokes, but his movement isn't very good. Roddick's strokes are less powerful (nowadays) but his movement is better. They still base their games off their serve, that is why I said, sort of. Thrasher 02-19-2011, 11:41 PM I have and I'm sure many other (Canadians) people have been following our country's players for years and now that one is a rising star and turning heads we are not allowed to show our gleaming support in fear of some disgruntled MTF members calling us band wagoners. Doesn't seem right. delpiero7 02-19-2011, 11:42 PM Roddick to win his 30th title in his 50th final. :rocker: Hope Milos puts in a good show though. This is destined for a 3rd set breaker. ;) wtatourfan 02-19-2011, 11:51 PM Roddick! Sapeod 02-20-2011, 12:03 AM I hope and pray for tennis that Raonic wins. Clay Death 02-20-2011, 12:40 AM like milos a lot but i dont think he has much of a chance tomorrow. i just dont see it happening for milos tomorrow. samjones 02-20-2011, 01:06 AM If Roddick doesn´t win this one against a tired Raonic, he has to retire as soon as possible. In that case he should be ashamed of himself You don't know Andy Roddick too well. One thing I'll give Andy Roddick - he's kindof like a Jimmy Connors in a way. It doesn't matter what kind of humiliation he endures, he'll be back the next week with the exact same competitive intensity that he brings every week. I wouldn't be surprised to see Andy R playing at 35. FlameOn 02-20-2011, 01:48 AM Go Raonic!! But it'll be Roddick in 2. rocketassist 02-20-2011, 01:53 AM They're not that similar. Simon's strokes are flat while Murray's are loaded with spin, and Simon has that surprise occasional ballbashing forehand. Can't say Murray has that. Murray is more aggressive than Simon, but Simon has the better FH. But both are conservative as a whole, then again I find Nadal, Djokovic, Del Potro and Roddick to be conservative too. tennishero 02-20-2011, 01:57 AM i feel sorry for the people who pay to go see this. i'd rather pay to watch paint dry. Arkulari 02-20-2011, 02:00 AM Raonic in 3, losing the second set osmonde 02-20-2011, 02:11 AM It's Raonic 9th ATP tourney, no way to compare to Roddick veteran's ride. It's just amazing that he kept his composure 2 weeks in a row and reach finals. Hope a fair final for us to watch even if it's going to be an aces battle. We can't have Fedal style of tennis everywhere, no? River 02-20-2011, 03:56 AM This thread went straight to hell. Roddick to take it home in 3. Just think; All Roddick needs is to put power in his forehand and he'll be great again. ahhh~~~ abraxas21 02-20-2011, 05:35 AM Roddick. Mr. Oracle 02-20-2011, 05:48 AM holy cow there's no stopping THE MILOS now !! !VamosRafa! 02-20-2011, 05:58 AM If Roddick doesn't win this he should retire...Raonic played 4 straight 3 set matches and is probably exhausted...but who knows? orangehat 02-20-2011, 06:03 AM Dear tennis gods, please answer this prayer  Do not, I repeat, do not allow this duck to stay another year in the top 10, especially playing tournaments with pathetic fields like Memphis. Love. Nole Rules 02-20-2011, 08:26 AM Roddick to save tennis this time. Allez 02-20-2011, 08:59 AM Head says Roddick. One thing's for sure...Roddick is going to try every trick in the books to intimidate young Raonic. He's going to huff and puff but I'm not sure he's going to blow this giant away. Zaks_289 02-20-2011, 09:06 AM Raonic is new Roddick. With this match, Roddick will win. henke007 02-20-2011, 09:25 AM Raonic will be in the top 30 if he wins this  Horatio Caine 02-20-2011, 09:26 AM I´m going the other way around. Roddick will be forced to save tennis. So true. It depends whether Roddick's shoulder is hindering him. As he was hammering the ball as hard as possible (particularly on serves) yesterday, I guess the problem can't be too serious...otherwise surely he'd be trying to protect the injury rather than aggravate it? The match-up is in Roddick's favour...usually he plays other big servers well. Get 60%+ 1st serves into the court, and Raonic could go the whole match without a look at a breakpoint. Obviously the kid could have a shot in tiebreaks, but Roddick is probably the most clutch player he will have faced all year, and that should be decisive. Rallies play strongly into Roddick's favour...he defends well, so Raonic will always be pressured to hit that big winner, and he is likely to be out of position/off balance in the majority of occasions he goes for one. Actually whenever he has shoulder problems he starts to hammer the ball, playing spinny shots aggravates the pain. Nadull_tard 02-20-2011, 10:21 AM Raonic will be tired for sure, but he can save a lot of break points, he's very clutch on key points, unlike Roddick. Serve is the basic weapon of both, but Raonic takes more risk from the baseline, he's capable of playing some longer rallies in opposite of guys like Isner or Karlovic, and If Roddick will push like he often does I think that Milos will take the title. KeiNishikoriCro 02-20-2011, 10:34 AM I have to go with Roddick today..he is just too experienced for Milos! wtatourfan 02-20-2011, 11:34 AM Roddick in 2! Milos has played too many nmatches the past 10-12 days! samjones 02-20-2011, 12:59 PM Dear tennis gods, please answer this prayer  Do not, I repeat, do not allow this duck to stay another year in the top 10, especially playing tournaments with pathetic fields like Memphis. Love. THe funny part is that it seems likely to me that this is exactly what could happen for years to come. As I said before, there's a Connors-like quality to Andy Roddick. I don't pretend that he's playing his career-best tennis right now, but do you think he's any worse than he was, say, 3 years ago? Or 5 years ago? His serve is still over-powering. He's still highly mobile. His return game is great. It is true that he does not often play the quality of tennis that Nadal/Federer and now Djokovic play - but it's also obvious that he simply is better than the players ranked below him. Andy Roddick is simpy a better player than Jurgen Melzer. Period. It feels like he could be a tennis threat until he's 35. As much as I've spent years dissing the guy for being a flake and a disappointment, I think that now I'm start to admire him for being a stalwart of American tennis who diligently carries the flame waiting for the next American GOAT to arrive. Go Andy! tnosugar 02-20-2011, 01:24 PM If Roddick doesn't win this he should retire...Raonic played 4 straight 3 set matches and is probably exhausted...but who knows? The guy is of Montenegrin descent. Trust me, he is not exhausted ;) Gabe32 02-20-2011, 02:03 PM I hope Raonic destroys Roddick. Similar games except Raonic seems to be a good guy. Hopefully the crowd won't be all Americans. That being said, Roddick in 3. Certinfy 02-20-2011, 02:11 PM Roddick in 3. Har-Tru 02-20-2011, 02:15 PM Save tennis Andy. River 02-20-2011, 02:51 PM Dear MTF, Tennis will be fine no matter what the f*cking result is. myrt 02-20-2011, 03:51 PM Andy in three. Pressures on Andy....Roanic has nothing to defend. Plus Andy doesn't want to lose a serving contest to a 20 yr. old...Pride ya know. Glad I can watch it on tv with remote in hand since this should be pretty boring [unless you are impressed with power serving]. Andy hasn't lost much. He may not be that powerhouse that rolled over the rest of the ATP in '03, but he's pretty much the same player that we've seen in the 7+ years since and I shit you not when I say that I think he could do it for another 5 or 6 years. He's just that good.... except when he's not. Then he sucks donkey balls. But that's not a new thing for Andy Roddick. That's the same old Andy Roddick we've gotten to know and hate. fast_clay 02-21-2011, 12:06 AM No dude, it's what I said. Sam Jones don't troll. You watched today. Andy hasn't lost much.
