I'm not sure it's a good idea to overload the schedule.I know it will be a typical bitch-whipping but still it looks like an unneeded stop on his road through the whole season.

Doesn't he have to play Davis Cup to be eligible for the Olympics?

That's why every top players will play at least one tie this year.

Good news. :)
But I wanted to see Granollers in doubles.

I didn't know that. In this case it seems to be the best possible date to get over this.

He'll probably only play 1 singles rubber anyway

It's a shame that Christofixer Rochus has retired.

Bitch-whipping would have been a disservice to the kind of beatdown he would have gotten from Nadull.

The match will be less intensive than a training session. Belgian men are mugs. Kim Clijsters would have given him a better work out. He badly needs time on court anyway.

Wrong forum.

There's a Nadull forum. Go there and don't come back, please.

What's the point in playing this one? Better rest up.

It's not like we gonna lose against Belgium without you...

Nadal forum, or you could've also included the rest of the team...

No idea why he's playing here, guess he wants to make it up to his teammates for abandoning them to go to South Africa. Should've given Ferrer a rest as well and let Almagro and Robredo do singles and Granollers and either Robredo or Marc Lopez play doubles.

Clownish from Verdasco to play here as well, considering how overloaded his schedule already is, but I guess he wants to redeem himself from the embarrassment in France.

precisely.

according to Olympic rules, a player must make himself available for Davis Cup play twice during a four year Olympic cycle to be eligible to play in the Olympics. for the 2012 summer Olympics, that cycle is 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. one of those availabilities must take place the year before or the year of the Olympics (2011 or 2012).

But does this rule include the dead rubber. For example Nadal might not play at all in the live matches and only if the tie is decided he might play the dead rubber.Or he can skip singles and only play doubles.

I think it's two ties, not two matches. Furthermore, national olympic committees can add their own criteria

Yes it was, it's necessary to play some tennis before a major. Getting a virus was simply bad luck, it wasn't bad scheduling.

I disagree, Raonic forum. Why are the threads about him fine on General Messages? Or why Murray missing Dubai due to wrist injury is ok and this one is not? Grow up

because there are match result threads plus a single thread about raonic's future which is from like 2 years ago anyway?

milos doesn't have a forum btw.

What about the Murray thread and the Almagro thread you started? I see your hate of Nadal makes you have double standards about the rules of these forums.

what the hell? you talk as if there were no nadull threads in the general board.

let me tell something, son, pocahontas has much more threads about him than milos, mugro or even murray. i really see no reason to have one more because he's gonna play one or two match in the first round of the DC 2011. I might as well start a thread for every mug who's playing the DC in this very board but that wouldn't make much sense now would it?

Nadal playing DC after injury break is very relevant for ATP tour so the thread deserves to be in GM

Because they are irrelevant mugs, who gives a shit about how many slams Mugray won on his playstation? Nadal is ATP #1 and any news about him are important to the tennis world and thus should be on GM.

Nadal playing the first round of Davis Cup doesn't exactly qualify as "important tennis news".

For instance, I, and most other people, don't really care! :P

There was a time when nobody thought that Davis Cup was an unneeded stop.

when is Nadal NOT playing "after injury break," pray tell?

FFS, stop whining and report the thread to the mods if you don't think it fits in here.

If you don't care, you don't open it. If you do open it, you only have yourself to blame because the thread title is very clear and thus, very easy to avoid.

when is Nadal NOT playing "after injury break, pray tell? :angel
Some find it relevant to know when and where a player starts playing again.
That should be obvious but I guess not.
