Whoo-hoo! It's the first time I've ever seen a tournament where I've liked all of the final 8.

Go Roddick, Raonic, Fish, Lleyton, Del Potro .. !

Saved 2 mps and then served out the second from 0-40. Broke Mannarino's game and spirit by the third.

Hopefully he pulls up well after a long enough match (about 2:40) and can come out raring to go against Roddick.

Incorrect scoreline :o

Very quick double match point for the Frenchamn at 5:4 (40-15) - an error in the 4th stroke and an ace DTT.

The rest of the match was disgraceful in Permanarino's performance :o

Hewitt has won 7 matches saving a match point in the 2nd set:

Adelaide '98: Woodforde 4-6 7-6(1) 6-1 - 1 mp
San Jose '02: Agassi 4-6 7-6(6) 7-6(4) - 2 mp
Indian Wells '03: El Aynaoui 4-6 7-5 6-2 - 3 mp
Monte Carlo '04: Gaudio 1-6 7-6(5) 6-1 - 2 mp
Montreal '07: Hrbaty 6-7(10) 7-6(6) 7-5 - 2 mp
Cincinnati '09: Soderling 3-6 7-6(8) 6-4 - 2 mp
Memphis '11: Mannarino 6-7(9) 7-5 6-0 - 2 mp

Classic Rocky grind in this one.. just finding a way to win.. bloody legend.

Rematch of the Memphis semi a few years ago where Duck got up in 3 sets, hopefully Hewitt can put in a good performance here.

Mannarino moves really well and hits so big, but Lleyton just hung tough and was able to use enough variety, even though the courts don't help in that regard. I thought for a good while that Adrian had him out there, and I was pretty impressed with him in the first two sets. He couldn't keep it in the court in the third set though.

Lleyton is moving better than last week, and hopefully he still feels good physically tomorrow. Still making a few unexpected errors when trading crosscourt but he played better than last week. All in all, a very good win from a set, a break and mp's down. Well done Rusty you fighter!! C'mon :boxing:

I didn't know that they play 5-setters in Memphis. Still, good job Hewitt.

When Adrian had 3 BP after that deserved break in 5-5 I was stunned.
But Lleyton managed to do it.
He's pure heart, that's why I support him so much.

Looking forward for his match tomorrow.

Incorrect scoreline :o

Thanks. I dind't realise it until I read this.

Roddick 'destroy'....... do you actually watch tennis

Roddick will get outplayed and outrallied for the majority of the match, regardless of the final result. If Hewitt can recover physically he has a very good chance of beating the hacker.

Have you watched Lleyton's last 3-4 matches? He looks older and slower in each one. He was lucky that he played a headless Frenchie here. Roddick might be shit but he's still good enough to beat the current Lleyton Hewitt.

Roddick is too weak from the baseline to beat Hewitt like Del Potro last week Jen, I don't say that Hewitt is a favorite but it should be an equal match.

Good, mental win after that tough loss against Nalbi at the AO.

Hewitt will ofcourse recover for his match tonight, he is Hewitt. I think he can give Roddick a hard time, but will lose nonetheless.

Mannarino has 2 set points at 5-4 in the second set, on Hewitt's serve. On the match point at *15-40, Lleyton's shot clipped the net and it gave Mannarino a very hittable backhand, which he just put into the net. Lleyton then aced him at *30-40 to take it to duece and eventually saved that service game. Adrian then proceeded to lose serve in the next game and every game for the remainder of the match. I like Mannarino's game but that was pathetic mental fortitude. After he lost those match points, the conclusion was inevitable.

Mugarino :-) Saw the first set, two failures to serve it out, but surprisingly won the tb after.

Just the sort of fighting victory Hewitt loves though, I wonder if it gives him extra spark against Roddick.

Hewitt became a shadow of himself. Struggling with hardcourt monsters like Dabul and Mannarinno is just a clear signal to step down and stop being a skit of a great champion.

What a choker this Mannarino.

And what a strange forehand he has. Shortest swing I've ever seen.

A few of the lower level Frenchies do that, makes it quite hard to read where they're hitting. More of a groundprod than a groundstroke.
