He will be about #3. or 4. on alt list, won't play qualifier match. :) 3-4 player withdraw always from MS.

He is 9th on the alt list at the moment - it's too optimistic to think that 8 players will withdraw (Raonic will probably receive WC).

But who knows what will happen in a month...

Ah, Really. :(
But yes, I think about 10-13 players will withdraw.
But I guess If Raonic can be IN, he don't get WC.

I think he will not play Miami. 8-9 withdrawers is too much and part of Pete's strategy was that Grigor will not play any quialies for tournaments until not get enough point to directly enter the MD. The only reaoson he played in AO was that he was suspended from ATP events. It was very strange schedulle with these ATP 500??? Maybe they decided to check if he can perform so well as in AO in R1 matches but it seems he doesn't so they will step back to challangers and some week ATP 250. Miami - I don't think so.

getting WC certanly not help him a lot

I think that he will play Miami. He will play Houston ATP, which is the week after Miami, but it's on CLAY.

I think that his shedule will be:
28 FEB - Cherburg CH - Indoor Hard - €42,500
07 MAR - Sarajevo CH - Indoor Hard - €30,000
14 MAR - probably rest
21 MAR - Miami Masters - Hard - $3,645,000
04 APR - Houston ATP - Clay - $442,500

Just an idea - mmarto193 as a creator ot the thread, maybe can edit the first post and to write the next tournaments.

Or Grigor is 9th in alt list, maybe if he will IN in Miami, he withdraw from Challenger. Miami MD or Challenger. And he don't play qualifying match sure.
Otherwise isn't bad idea from him...

Grigor will play qualies in Miami, as far as I know. Otherwise it makes no sens not playing anywhere till the end of March. I think the plan is to play qualies and maybe, if lucky with the draw, R1 match then the challenger. If goes well in Miami will pull out the Ch.

03-09-2011, 10:03 PM
This Challenger(in Barranquilla) is during the 2nd week of Miami, if I am right. So, he's playing qualies there and if he doesn't reach the 2nd week, which is very likely, unfortunately, he'll play the Challenger. After that, he'll play in Houston, then probably Monte Carlo Masters, and then Barcelona ;)

Sonja1989

I think this is a good mixture with challengers and ATP events. It will make the transition to the tour much smoother. He seemed a lot frustrated in February with those early exits and is good he got the title in France. This is helping to climb the ranking since he has no points to defend untill July and of course gather confidence and improve his game. Pete is very calm and is not pushing him too much. Hopefully Grigor will calm down as well and show what he is capable of.

Monte Carlo, Monaco - ATP Masters - Clay (not confirmed yet)
