I hope Blake quits soon for his own good. It's better being remembered for choking in USO 4th rounds than for being straight-setted by surfers and journeymen in your last days.

Bake's been improving week by week, last week won one game less against Raonic in the 2nd round :sport: Should be peaking in Sunrise :)

Expected really. Kendrick is a top challenger player. Something I can't say about James.

James Blake won 14 thousand dollars for losing 2nd round.

Why retire?

James has already done it all. He doesn't need to prove himself but kendrick does. James still plays tennis because he can. SIMPLE.AS.THAT.

People are forgetting when ivanisevic won wimbledon after 3 years of bad play so when thats possible maybe its possible for blake to at least win another turnament

Blake is probably broke. Last year during his match with Almagro at Indian Wells when the umpire made a bad call he was talking about how much prize money it was going to cost him.

I see no other reason why he continues to go out there and lose to career journeymen. At this stage, he might crack the top 100again but certainly won't do much more.

He could write another best-seller and quit from tennis if that's the case

I've never been a Blake fan but I do feel some sympathy for him hanging on to his career by a shred. I'm sure he thinks about what might have been and is spurred on by hope that he can turn it around. Having hope is good up to a point but then it can stop you from moving forward. I hope Blake negotiates that fine line soon.

No, Blake will find his tournament with a weak enough draw (or WD's) and make the final. That will be enough for all his fans to start talking about his comeback and how he can get back to the top. Then he can write another book about how he snapped his spine and he's the bravest person ever.

Mike Tyson AND James Blake: "I broke my back. My back is broken. Spinal!"

Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves taking delight at laughing at a man near the end of his tennis career. :tape:

Kendrick is a seasoned journeyman. This is not a bad result for Blake. He's going to improve and retire inside the top 50 imo. He's too proud to just fade away ;)
