He's been pretty average since his first set of the year where he won it against the new GOAT Nole and it's been downhill ever since.. hope he can turn it around soon.

When you think about all the people ecstatic after his Hamburg fluke run, and now, he is back to his usual ways. top 50 ahead.

My god Golubev, at least show you can play. These are all big losses. Not bad to lose to Ljubo indoor, but at least show a bit of a fight.

This is Golu really - good run, horrible for a while, good run, horrible for a while. Prolly a bit quick for his liking here though.

Some week he'll beat a top10 out of nowhere and go deep. There will be no warning, it'll just happen, he'll blaze through opponents. The following week, he'll get straightsetted by Junqeira.

The problem here is that Ljubo is a classy player, so if he was interested it was always going to be tough for Golubev. However, that doesn't excuse some of his other results this year. Time is fast running out for him to cushion his ranking (ahead of Hamburg). Dubai will surely be a brief trip, and then it is on to IW and Miami. Certainly his chances of winning matches in March are much better, but he is unlikely to score notable points unless he goes on a winning run as arf' describes (true, you can never rule it out). On to European clay, and he'll be up against the toughest opponents in some of the biggest tournaments...

It's a shame Golubev has these long dire droughts. When he is on (like Hamburg), it was freaking amazing to watch.

Golubev should be playing the golden swing instead.
