He might be on the verge of a comeback once again, apparently he has been training the last several months like crazy (info from the argie posters/friends on here). Do you guys think he could do it?

I highly doubt it. The game has passed him by and his last attempt didn't go to well either. And then there's the serve... But best of luck to him, at least he's giving it a go.

If only!

I hope he will come back, he's 29, so it's his final chance. One of my all time favorite players, but that Roland Garros loss was crushing for him .

If thats what he wants to do then why not?

If he could at least stop the double faults, it would be a pretty easy return. Especially on clay. This era is pathetic on clay.

It would be a really dumb decision, he would only embarrass himself. He would be in trouble to get past the 1st round on clay at ATP level.

his life, his decision... who are all you mugs to decide whether he should or not?

I side with Gu...not sure that the game has passed him by, as concerns clay courts. He wouldn't be a contender in the big draws, but surely at his best he could have some good games with the likes of Chela, Robredo, Ferrero etc. Those guys are still very much a feature in the '250s.'

The main issue is his serve, as the problem he was having was more mental than physical. Serving yips can be extremely difficult to fully overcome. We saw a little of that with Djokovic, and you could argue that, even now, his serve isn't quite what it used to be.

Personally, I wouldn't be excited about him coming back as I think it will be a failed mission (serve).

I'd enjoy watching him again thats for sure.

Not sure it would be too successful, but I remember being so excited when he came back for RG in 2008 (and he played Robredo tough). Obviously like everyone else said, the serve is a major major liability and combined with the mental weaknesses, he's gonna have a tough time. Hope it works out for him if he does come back!

Just serve underhanded on 2nd serves, and he'll have his chances to win matches.

Gaudio had a pretty strong comeback on the challenger tour last season; I don't see an obstacle why Coria shouldn't repeat it.

Gaudio at least had a serve...and the insane backhand. While Coria has the insane speed and drop shot and good groundies, I didn't feel that any of that stood out in his comeback in 08

Seriously? I wish I could say that, but outside of the Robredo match at RG, he struggled a lot. Lots of bagel sets he lost (double bagel to Cipolla)

I hope not.

Tennis does not need Coria anymore, so best to just stay retired.
In fact, same goes for Gaudio and Muster. They should just go as well.

Reading comprehension problems alert.

He hadn't sorted out his serve by the time he tried that comeback.

Right, it was that easy, he just has to sort out his serve. He should hire you as coach... not.

Your attention span is that of a fly.

I have no business in helping Coria the weasel back into the tour.

He'd beat pretty much anybody on clay if he did, though.

There is only one clay king on tour right now, there are no "clay kings".

Nightmare ?????? Coria hasn't played a competitive match for years. I say it will be a dream match for Nadal

P.S Coria was one of my favorite players when he was active.

He won a set I guess. After being out of the tour for a long time and without a decent serve.

There's only one king of the moonballing on the tour right now, that's right.

Comeback for what and from what? He was always a lucky mickey mouse player. No one should hail the return of any of the Argentine doper generation.

yes like when Mathieu drew Kuerten in RG

at least if he could win a challenger as Gaudio did, it would be good :)
