3-1 adv Del Potro in the Lacko match. Del Potro served a big first serve into the net, and then the net needs to be fixed and there is a ten-minute delay.

:o?

Pirata.

No, of course something like this has never happened before.

Some people forget tennis has a history of more than a hundred years...

For example during the US Open quarterfinal '79 between Tanner and Borg. it was important match because Borg was beaten for the first time after a 31-match winning streak. Tanner destroyed the tape with his powerful serve in the crucial stage of the 4th set (the match was suspended for 6 minutes).

The Gooch did it from a slice backhand.

I think something similar happened during one of Safin's matches at Wimbledon.

The commo mentioned a match where it happened, but can't remember which.

I think something similar happened during one of Safin's matches at Wimbledon.

That was against Philippoussis in 2005, the same day on the same court (center court) was also Pim Pim against Rusedski so no wonder the net broke, will always remember that day.

I saw a video on youtube in which the served ball was stuck in clay. I think it's even more powerful...

Mjau!

Yes, I saw this too. It was a Roddick serve!
