What's up with Mardy Fish?

Fish was the hero of the all-important playoff round victory over Colombia on the red clay of Bogota, but he's apparently suffering from a strange and as yet unidentified virus. "Right after he lost here," Courier said, "Mardy was off to Los Angeles to take a bunch of tests. He doesn't have the energy he needs. At this point we're just not sure where he stands."

What's with American tennis players and these problems? Unidentifiable viruses, mono, doping, glass lacerations, unexplained illness, impotency. What are they doing to their American tennis players?

Hmmm, not much information there.
Doesn't thyroid affect the body's metabolism?
I think that doesn't have a cure, you have to take medication for life. Nothing serious though it it's treated.

It's to be expected from Fish and also add in Ginepri (a squirrel for crying out loud). Throughout their careers, once they reach a decent level of tennis or ranking, they ALWAYS get sick or injured. It's become tired and old now.

Thyroid problems may be serious, often you have to have a surgery to take off it or a part of it : the medicine alone are not able to regularize it.

And it takes out a lot of energy.

I love Mardy Fish, because he's going to be the only not-completely-unlikeable American who will earn a seed at IW and Miami.

From what I read he complained about being short of energy after playing 5 sets against Hanescu and winning one set against Robredo, then a problem was diagnosed but he may play 3 setter-tournaments correctly I guess.

He's been in Memphis for several days so I guess he is intending to play.
