This gormless, gutless sissy is heading out of the top 50 fast.

Amazing that he reached the top 20 with a lack of any real game-plan, and the intensity of a poodle.

Wow that loss to Wawrinka really took its toll on him.

How is he in the top 20? He is the most pathetic piece of crap on tour. Now he's losing in round 1 of his bread and butter. Mickey mouse tournaments in his home country.

Finally Lacko past the first round. Well done Lukas.

Wow. This is really disappointing. I thought that Sam might get it together once he came back stateside, but he just looked atrocious today. The sad thing is that Lacko did nothing special and had to have had a relatively low first serve percentage, but Sam was just atrocious in all phases. Sam's movement was horrible, his returns were beyond incompetent, he looked like he didn't even want to be out there yet again, and once a rally started it was almost guaranteed to go Lacko's way.

Sam desperately needs to take a long time off and re-evaluate his priorities, as giving no effort and losing in the first round every week is an exercise in futility.

Sam doesn't seem to want to play tennis right now, and has been completely awful since the summer of 2010, after the Open R4, he has 1 victory. He flat out doesn't care, as he's shown, and as he's said. Lacko was average at best and that's all it took. Sam has stalled in improving his game and he's starting to get passed by the pack.

Really opens up the draw for I think Hewitt to breeze through that section, or potentially Del Potro.

As you said, Querrey was never going to be a factor anyway, so it hardly makes much impact on the section, even.

Sam is headed towards a rank of around provisional ranking of #30 next week.

That's true. Since he currently looks incapable of beating a decent player.

I still sort of like Sam, but that AO match v Kubot really made me look at him a different way forever. I'll never forget how he folded when ahead constantly, and how he didn't fight or show any sort of emotion, and got down on himself at the end instead of trying to fight through, playing a struggling opponent who was cramping. Sam doesn't have the game of an elite player, but that's not as big of a problem as his lack of an elite players' mind.

Huh? This loss won't cost him a single ranking point. Comon Sam, you're 23 years old and top 20 in the world, your time should be now.

The sad thing is that to be buddies, Querrey and Isner's mental approaches are polar opposite. Isner actually moves far better on the court of the two now, and puts a higher % of returns in play. And when it comes to heart, we don't even have to go there...

Querrey's been challenger level for quite a while, I think he'd lose to the Youngs and Boggos of the world with this attitude, guy plainly doesn't care, doesn't have a killer instinct and sometimes he looks as if playing tennis is actually painful to him :o

Funnily enough it's exactly reversed when they play each other. Sam is clutch and Isner chokes

Agreed with the sentiments going on in here. Sam is a sad excuse for a tennis player. One dimensional? check. Ugly? check. Boring? check etc etc

Good to see him lose and good for the game. Well played lacko

Lacko losing to both Federer and Nadal last month gave him a little hint of confidence, good practice enough to roll over Querry.

Big servers are always a tragedy when they stats goes down a little.

Big serve is the worst style of game, and it's a courtesy of US Federation. All on the same mold, Roddick, Isner, Querrey, Fish. Serve, serve, serve.
The only guy with real athletics quality made a great career and its roddick.

Totally agree. Sam's AO performance ended it for me.

Queerey is a bigger disgrace to USA tennis than Donna Young and Wayne Drugdesnik combined :help: The sooner he's out of the top 50 the better, and even then we'll be forced to see him on US television :o

The better player won, which isn't saying much.

How has Querrey won 6 titles???
He is an awful, awful player. How did Murray lose to him last year? Disgusting loss. Querrey has one of the biggest forehands atm, but he is a terrible player.

Isner >>>>>>>> Querrey. Shame his results haven't shown that, because John is miles better.

Seriously, what the hell is Querrey's problem? I don't think he'll ever live up to the kind of expectations people have put on him. He seems to thrive at most 250 events, but anything 500 and up, he plays like an absolute lazy ass. It's not so much his opponents that are beating him, but it's more so Sam beating himself, with his negative mentality.
