Tomas looks solid, he did not give Nando a chance

At first, Nando got a break, then tanked all the match

2nd to the QF

A nice match between Berdy & Djokovic

Excellent. I'm quite torn, actually. I like Berdych a lot, and it's wonderful to see him playing well again. It's awesome that he has made it to the QF here, which is the best he's ever done.

But why does it have to be Djokovic? Hoping for Nole to come through, but with Berdych playing like this, it could definitely go either way. If Berdych does make it through, I'd give him good odds to possibly take the whole thing.

NID. did anyone expect nando to challenge berdych? Verdasco does not belong in the quarterfinals of any slam..

Amazing play by Berdych. He made only 9UE and over 30 winners.

Come on guys, he had blisters. Shit happens, has nothing to do with his physical performance. Injuries, sicknesses, problems come along the way. Is Nadal a mug for retiring against Murray?? Of course not!

Ironically it is the same people that call him a clown when Verdasco reached Nadal here 2 years ago, and the same idiots that called Berdych a clown for losing to Llodra at the USO.

Good to see Berdych destroy the clown

A Tsonga fan has the right to call another player a clown? :spit:

Anyway, what a performance from Berych! :worship: He did very well to not let a sub-par and injured Nando affect his own level of play.

Considering Nando's woeful results from Wimbledon '10 up till the present, 4R is a very good result for him, and following this tournament he'd have been in the top 10 for 2 years (give or take 2 or 3 weeks). He also came back from 2-0 sets down for the second slam in a row. I'd love to see a 'clown' do this.

Berdych played an AMAZING match, even if Nando hadn't foot issues he would still have lost because the Czech was in the zone, brilliant shotmaking :yeah:

Easily the cleanest match of Berdych's career. His tennis was insane today.

When the draw was made, I thought Davydenko would be the most likely (and only real) challenge to Djokovic in the QF. Now it's clear that Berdych is here and he means business. Will be a very interesting, likely day quarterfinal in a couple days.

Verdasco was injured and he hung in there, I was pleasantly surprised he didn't quit. I hope Nole can take out Tomas!

"I have to say my ankle was a factor today. I had a problem with the tape, and a blister on the Achilles which was very painful. I just couldn't move normally, and against a player like Berdych it makes things impossible. But I don't like to retire…" said Verdasco.

It is in Spanish, but it seems Fernando may need surgery, so he was injured pretty badly.

Too bad, because I know that Nando could have beaten Berdych if he played his very best. Sadly, that Nando never showed up today :(

According to their latest performances I`d never believed that either of these players were going to be at this stage of the tournament. This is a great result for both. I agree with other posters that Djokovic has been playing really well and looks in very good form. Reminds me in someway to the one of a couple of years ago. He looks faster and his serve looks quite more powerful like before he changed his racket from Wilson to Head.
